    Love these. I adjusted on the second one, I threaded on the 20 bristles onto the 24g wire then threaded it through all again and pulled the wire tight to make a circle. Then took the 16g wire for the broomstick with just one loop for the top, threaded it through the center of the ring of bristles and made a second loop at the bottom of the 16g broomstick to keep it in place. Worked out so much better for me . Thank you for sharing this!!

    These are soooo cool, glad I found this video-TY for creating. You said if there was an easier way to let you know. Yes yes make the broom bristles like a pom pom. cut a piece of cardboard or plastic to desired size, decide how many times you want to wrap around, I did 10 X, slip the 17 cm wire in and divide the wraps & hook on the broom handle wire, push top section together where handle is affixed, give the 17cm wire a twist or 2 and cut the bottom wires off the cardboard, trim according. Wrap the top to make the band, spread broom straws & crinkle---WAY easier than cutting & bending each piece.... Thanks again, keep the great ideas coming new subscriber ;)

    Just made these for a friend and it was super easy and they are really quite cute. Trickiest part was holding all the bits together as I squeezed the top part together. Another commenter mentioned an easier way to string the little broom bristles together and I will try it for the next pair. Sounds like it will go much quicker, although sitting there and bending those little wires does give you time to just listen to some music which is nice :) Thx for the great pattern!!

    Oh how I love these!! Kicked my butt tho! lol I got one made, and had to get some yard work finished, long story short, hedge trimmer took off the tips of two fingers, so the other one is going to have to wait. That's why it kicked my butt. lol I tried but the wire kept snagging on my gauze. :( But I saved the pieces (of the second broom..) so I'll finish it when I'm healed up. lol SO CUTE THO!!!!

    Love the pattern. I used 22guage half round for the bottom and the wrap. I didn't have regular 22 guage so I had to improvise. I like how it turned out. Thank you

    You said you would like to hear any suggestions of a different way to make the bristles so….I wonder if you could cut a piece of plastic or cardboard 2 cm wide and wrap the wire around and around. Then cut the loops off of one side to make your bristles instead of cutting and then bending each bristle individually. Edit - I just looked back on a Heather Boyd video and she made them a third way. She folded paper double the length of the bristles (for example 4 cm). She wound the wire around and around and then wrapped a second wire around the middle of the set of wound wires and then bent the set in half. She then wrapped the second wire around bent wires to gather them together and cut off the loops off at the ends of the original wound wire like in my suggestion.

    I’d love to make my friend who is a witch (white) a pendant like this for her birthday next week. She doesn’t wear earrings.
    Do you think I could just adapt the sizes ?

    • @TheSirenandThePirate
      @TheSirenandThePirate  Год назад

      Oh yeah! I think even the size of these are good pendant size, but you could adjust however you want.

    Question, did you put all 40 cut pieces and folder in half on the 17 cm wire? It's terribly thick. Or, did you consider your 40 cut pieces as actually 20 cut and folded in half making 40?

  • @sharonclark256
    @sharonclark256 9 месяцев назад

    Do you dip them in the liver of sulfur? Do you tumble them or do you use something else to take the extra patina off?

    What do you do to keep the wire ends from snagging cloth or scratching skin?
