Some of what Donnie said is true but if the stories are already leaked how can he say cover the falling? I hate hypocrisy but at some point, certain things need to be addressed. He said himself that he was a hot mess before his sins caught up to him. Simply covering a person without rebuking them is like beating a dead horse, that person's growth ain't going nowhere....

Covering doesn't mean condoning. That's always #1. Covering means that that person won't be exploited while they are in the middle of their mess. That's what Larry Reid & ALOT of people don't get, understand, or realize the Tru nature of the Church. And God is never mocked. What Pastor McClurkin was saying is that, when a person covers another person, they: 1. Understand personally what that individual is going thru & nobody wants to be kicked in the face when they're already in the ground. 2. Covering expresses Love & biblically, "covers a multitude of sin." What Larry Reid & a bunch of other messy folk also don't realize that is NOBODY'S job or duty to expose another person's faults. That's God's job! And God never asked Larry for help in doing that. The wheat & tare MUST grow together!! And no one is smart enough, wise enough, credible enough, or popular enough to efficiently determine which is wheat & which is tare. And if Larry took as much time to study the Bible as he does in slandering folks character, he'd know that only God is able to determine who is real & who isn't in His Kingdom. Our job as Believers is to cover to the extent of bringing back that Brother/Sister into right fellowship. I mean, which response to a rebuke would be better received? An exposure or a quiet, behind the scene rebuke of action? And because somebody covered Donnie when he was in his mess & you can witness his complete deliverance, he, in turn, offers the same method of covering to the next Brother/Sister whose son is exposed & out there. That's Kingdom. That's church. Period.

No where in the Word does it say cover and NOT rebuke. And understand, rebuking is NOT judging. Cover requires rebuke, hence why I know Larry & ALOT of other folks idea of such things stem from a worldly perspective and not a biblical one. Because trust, covering has a set time. And you can't cover anybody who refuses to change & willingly continues to sin. But that's not what Donnie was referencing or talking about. It requires the Holy Spirit to effectively cover someone...and the Holy Spirit won't make Himself or the one covering look like a fool. Larry's intention is nothing more than exploitation. And its everybody's entertainment. Trust, he and everybody else who prematurely judges, has their reward.

First, that's discrediting his relationship with God & his story. Like he's just singing songs to tickle people's emotions. Some may tear up without knowing God, but it's because his presence is present in the songs. If you've ever really been through something & look back & see that it was only the hand of God that brought you through, then you can reallly sing the song & relate on a deeper level & not just feelings
@@andyt3789 Someone making feel good songs doesn't = them not knowing God. It's not at all discrediting his relationship with God, because these songs are tools for making money. I'm sure that at times he sings other songs to and about God that could also tell more about his relationship.
The idea (that MS perpetuates in his songs) that you're thankful and credit God for where you are is very Christian/ Godly, but it's Christian- light. So light that anyone can get with it and be moved by it, but being mature spiritually means moving past looking at how God helped you through tough circumstances to not caring as much about you or your desires as wanting to see God's will done in the Earth. Though I might not agree with all of LR's reasoning for disliking certain songs, the song of Marvin's that LR said he likes is more in line with someone who's spiritually mature.
