I bought a 5500c and the spool control won’t tighten. Tighten knob down doesn’t have any effect. Any idea on that? Thnx

I would inspect to see if the plastic tension spring is installed correctly under the knob. If you don't have a schematic I would recommend downloading it for that model and double checking the orientation of that part first. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
