You can put parts in a jar with a lid with solvent in and put it in the water, then you can clean with solvent or kerosene without filling the whole tub.
For many years spectacle dispensers and chemists placed an ultrasonic cleaner tub outside the shop for the public to clean their spectacles. I used it often to clean my watch and metal band to get rid of the crap ( dead skin cells and body oils and perspiration that clogged up the tiny details of the jewellery. Did a great job!!! They're gone now ------- don't know what happened............. any ideas???? Steve
Thank you very much for that Lance, I bought a small one of these a while ago but I'm a bit scared to try it because there's so much conflicting info as to what fluid to use. Some recommend specific ultrasonic cleaning fluids, others say hot water and white spirit or in your case, washing up liquid----so I'm going to try to clean an old carb using your suggestions but starting with boiling water from a kettle plus solvent. Thanks again from an old Yorkshire "Geezer" in Ireland.
I have to admire a man who lives on the edge byputting the "BOSS'S " jewelry in the parts cleaner with his carby parts. I would have thought it would be an idea to get the fluid up to temp before starting the timer for best effect. Cheers Eric
Similar to one i bought last year cleaned all the paint and crud of my carb although it took a few goes. also Chopped the legs off the basket as not supposed to have anything in contact with the bottom
Why not fill it with hot water from the start to cut down the waiting time. Also although it is less successful at cleaning metal it will not reduce the dimensions either as blasting would. Blasting removes small amounts of material from the surface therefore must reduce the size a fraction so parts which are hyper-critical size wise would be eroded by blasting.
Another awesome video from the Shed :) , most people i know use acetone or similar when cleaning...Although personally i think this week for me nothing works used lots of methods to try clean an engine block and gave up and it ended up at a shop to do the same thing i tried lol
Great review you beat me to it i was going to do a video review on my 3ltr cleaner i did a few carbs and my wifes rings and a really bad condition zenith 24T2 carb for my petter A11 stationary engine and it came up well after 2 x 30 min sessions i used some ultrasonic carb cleaning fluid mix in the water you can heat up the water first, That was good of Bangood to send that to you.
G’day mate it looks pretty good, I know that they are very handy to have I would like one myself, thanks for showing Lance it looks pretty well made, they are great for washing clock parts and anything like that John
Those 2 pin plugs are grounded, its a EU plug, the earth/ground is the slots at either side, on out outlet we hav 2 prongs that go into the slots, on the better ones as the prongs spread it opens the gate in the socket that close the prong holes, how that adapter is suposed to ground beats me so i think you did the right thing and use an alternative, that suplied cable would be fine here. I like the way you tested the earth putting your finger in the water 😂😂
I don't know about the cleaner but I would be very worried about connecting their power lead to the mains using the adaptor they "kindly" supplied. I can't see that there is continuity to earth through the lead and adaptor so it would be very dangerous if an earth fault developed. High risk of electrocution.
I use clothes washing powder in mine, works for me on most things. Mustie1 swears by his ultrasonic cleaner for carby parts. Think he uses carburetor cleaner in his
@@BundyBearsShed many years ago I worked for a guy who restored British bikes. Carbs were boiled in rhubarb, looked like brand new. Just had to make sure you cleaned them out properly afterwards :-) Also used to wind up his wife using her pot and stove to do it! Other than that worked brilliantly.
Putting the Boss's jewellery in with the carby parts , true Bundy style !!! Cool .
I like to live on the edge, lol.

Thanks, I never thought of doing that

I had not heard of that.

Davo453 in a comment above uses clothes washing powder and that sounds like it is worth a try for me.
@@BundyBearsShed Hey thanks, I'll probably try that too !

Ha Ha I like to live dangerously, lol.

Next Im going to try carb cleaner in a plastic bag, I hear that works.
We use parts washer fluid in our ultrasonic carb cleaner.
I might try that

Yes I could fill with hot water for sure, but this time I was just reviewing it. I think a stronger soapy solution would have been batter as well.

Im using parts washer fluid now and it seems to work ok.

Thanks Roy, I will try a few different liquids as I get time but a handy thing indeed.
Wonder if different solvents or cleansers would remove stains in brass in a machine like that.
I believe so but I have not tried them myself as yet.

G Day John, Yes they seem a handy item, I will use a better soap solution and try that as well.
Check out Mustie 1. He uses carb cleaner in his ultrasonic cleaner when he does carb repairs
Yes I will check that out, interesting channel by the look of it.

Yes i wasnt happy with that either, a bit dodgy I thought.

Im going to try that, I just had the one fiddle with this so far.
No link in the description Lance, that i can see.
No they were sending one but I dont seem to be able to contact them at the moment.
mild acid like vinegar or lemon may help with the staining
Yeah worth a try for sure.

Is this big enough for hang gun parts?
probably, but you can get bigger ones up to 30 liter
Are you sure the misses was cool with you cleaning her nice jewellery in with a load of stinky old tractor parts! Hope shes not watching!
Ha ha yeah she was good.
