  • This feeding pump stopped working. In the past, we had thrown one out when it got like this. But, someone else on RUclips shared that they had managed to change the battery, so I'm giving it a shot. In this video, I manage to get the pump open. A new battery has been ordered - will upload Part 2 when it arrives and I try to install it.

I tried to do this months ago and also figured out how to get the unit open. But then, I wasn't able to find a precise replacement battery. I ended up buying one that looked very similar. It has same voltage (3.7v), similar amp hours (2600 mAh instead of 2500 mAh), same size, and three wires, but a different connector. Figured I could cut the connector off the old battery and splice it to the new. I did that and the new battery ran the pump but it would not charge. Pretty certain the problem is that third wire and the circuitry on the battery. You expect the red wire (+) and black wire (-), but the white wire is the challenge. I hoped the battery I bought would be the same but apparently is not. With a bit of research I found that the white wire is likely part of a circuit to sense the temperature of the battery during charging to avoid overheating. I tore the plastic covering off the old battery and see the circuit is a little board that is connected to the + and - ends of the battery and has the 3 wires coming from it. So I decided to cut that little circuit board off the old battery, cut the circuit board off the new battery, throw the new battery circuit board away and solder the old circuit board to the new battery. Put it together and it seems to work. Haven't tested it 100%, but it does charge up and does run the pump, so it seems to be good. If anyone is interested, I can send some pictures.

I would like to see those pics, please. These pumps are very expensive to repair with the MFG.

@@clayshingle Hey, I'm happy to share some pictures, but I have found that you can't attach pictures to RUclips comments. Seems like I may have to create a RUclips video and include the images in the video. I'll try to do that soon.

The pcb connector is different but a bit of snipping, solder splicing and shrink tubing and it works perfectly. I did 2 units already and its back to normal battery life

I'm from Brazil, my son uses this feeding pump and it no longer works when unplugged, I believe the battery has run out. My father-in-law is in the United States, can anyone tell me where he can buy this battery or a used pump that is in perfect condition to buy?
