Great Christopher Walken impression. Also, the Brujah in Kindred: The Embraced always felt so much like Giovanni instead of Brujah. I wonder if they decided against Giovanni to avoid having to put wraith special effects into the budget...

This seems to be the most consistent form of criticism I'm seeing on all these clips, that "the Brujah act more like Giovanni" or "the Brujah don't look like Brujah." On one hand it highlights what a distinctive image the Brujah must have had in the original books to make it so that viewers couldn't possibly imagine them as gangsters or political saboteurs (as they are in the show), and on the other hand it shows a bit of an unfortunate stereotyping for both the Giovanni and Brujah, that people think "all Giovanni are gangsters" and "all Brujah are street toughs."

@@TheGentlemanGamer Hmm, now that you mention it, I suppose you're right. WoD official material tends to burn those stereotypes for each clan into our brains so much without sufficient "alternative personalities" at the forefront for the average person with a modicum of VtM knowledge to take in. Instead, only the most experienced/well-read/imaginative players and GMs can see a group of aggressive businessmen and think they could be Brujah. Even stuff like L.A. By Night, which WoD could use to show more mainstream consumers that Brujah are more than "team leather jacket," just decide to have characters be the most recognizable stereotypes of the clan. While it may differ from person to person, and Giovanni may only be gangsters in some people's minds, I think at least it's a historical cultural tether which some people may be able to see past, whilst Brujah are presented as an almost intrinsic "street thug" or "loudmouth ruffian" caricature. It almost pains me to eat that Christof Romuald from VtM Redemption might be a good thing for Brujah, despite some corny lines and being such a do-gooder (I like him, but realize he can be cheesy). At least he isn't another Brujah flailing at the status quo just because it's the status quo.

I never watched Kindred: The Embraced. But these videos are making me second guess that. Maybe I should just grab a beer and watch it as a comedy?

Every time I see Brian Thompson, I can't help but think; shouldn't he be in Outworld sniveling about how he wants to merge Outworld and Earthrealm?

You made them look like a group of petty criminals, nothing like the warrior scholars or rebels they actually are. In fact thinking about it, I cant remember the last time I saw a Brujah in a suit so well done there.

was the show actually canceled or did it just stop? i've seen conflicting reports, some saying that it was canned and other saying it was greenlit for a second season but when Mark Frankel died the backing just fell out. for all it's issues, it was an interesting crossover of worlds, I do wonder what a revamped modern version of the show that sticks to the source material and has a budget of actual dollars instead of painted packing peanuts might look like.

It was cancelled. Frankel did die before it could be renewed, but it never drew the viewership anyhow, so the network had no real issues cancelling it.
