For painting water base paint in interior wall, do you need to sand the painting area with oil base paint before apply shellac prime? And then I can use water base paint over shellac prime or oil base prime.
That gear is great we've got that in the UK, most of the time we use it as a stain block. I tell you what if you ain't wearing a mask you'll get high from that shit it is so strong smelling
yea for sure but kilz the overspray sticks. shellac it drys almost like lacquer to dust. great trick. And it sticks better than to oil primer. gotta try it. Try using shellac then you wont use oil primer anymore.

Yes. You can paint water based paint over oil based PRIMER ex Killz Oil Primer or Cover Stain. Primer is made to adhere to the oil paint. You CAN NOT paint paint water based paint over your old oil based PAINT. It’s to slick and will peel quickly.
alkyd is not an oil and will not stick to oil, use that over an oil and you will have a problem down the road, same a using and alkyd primers over an oil....

I just scrapped off the paint and putty just leaving cement surface but the smell seems penetrating into the wall. How can I do to solve this problem? Can you pls give me some advice? Many thanks
I really dont like that primer. Poor adhesion, poor coverage, There are others i use instead. Local paint stores Vista paint have a alkyd emulsion primer called primzall covers really good adheres excellent.
I use Johnstones water based undercoat on top of oil based paint and never had a problem
yea that sticks OK....nothing sticks as good as Shellac...to oil and water.

KILZ will do the same thing! Spray can or regular can and it's a primer!

thanks I brushed the bin sealer on all my interior windows came up good as you said very sticky

That product is very thin with very terrible coverage it does stick okay. I prefer if you're in Southern California, Vista paint primesol
