Hey Davie! 0400 here, I always wake up at this time for medication and I can't just fall back to sleep. I remember when I started following you many years now! The thing I noticed is that much of the tying magic you perform was done at the head. I learned how to fit more into less by watching you. I'd swear your fly should have been finished but you would still have four things to add!!! This pattern is not quite as compact but it is a great example of what and how you design and build flies! Thank you!

Thanks for sharing Davie , you can see why comp anglers would love that one. Nice tip with the hot spot stuff. Straight on the net for some 😄 your Flexi or whatever its called looks poppin , is dying it difficult buddy. Where would I get the dye for that colour. 🤔 many questions I know .....sorry 😄 absolutely love the pattern. Used to fish your fishery loads of times, what I'd have given to watch you tie 😉.

Beautiful buzzer, I really like that effect.
When I used to tie buzzers, I frequently used an underbody of silver tinsel first, which made any thread wraps on top 'shine' and be more translucent.
(I still use it for the odd wet & dry fly dressings, especially spiders)
You'd think a metal hook would do that anyway, but silver tinsel underneath thread wraps makes a big difference when wet.
(compare in a glass of water)
It would make the red thread turns between the rib here more prominent - if that was wanted anyway.
Though that might be gilding the lily with this little gem 👍

      Hi I Believe,
If you have a link to the original dressing then I'll certainly look at tying one and I'm glad you liked the buzzer.....

I would LOVE to see more patterns using CATGUT possibly in some of the colors now available like the CADDIS GREEN, GINGER, etc. There seems to be a huge void in videos using this material and I would LOVE to see YOU tie some. L 👍🎣👍
