Definitely cool but I wonder what the real advantages are over a regular swing arm? It seems like it would almost necessarily have less travel and introduce another possible mode of failure to the motor but I could be mistaken.

I was thinking about this from the first day when the hollow motors were introduced. Just a 4cm suspension inside the hollow motor would be enough.
this model has 6cm travel. It can be adjusted for more or less.

It looks like only a linear suspension design is possible in such a small space. That could be a place for batteries also if the shock is taken outside. It’s great to see the innovation. I often thought about a fat bike wheel but i didn’t think it would be strong enough. Glad i was wrong!

I have spent 5 grand on two different monsters and dont feel like i have gotten my moneys worth. If only this model was a choice of purchase for my garage I would be all over it.

Do you always need a hub motor, specifically for balancing ? I've been wanting to diy my personal EUC, however still tryna to figure out if I can use a regular wheel and then of course an EV motor somewhere else that drives the wheel, but balancing has got me worried. I know about the 6 axis in total MPUs and sensors, but what will balance it mechanically. I even have a few EUCs myself from decently well-known names, but it's still got me wondering if the motors themself have an internal part that balances the entire machine.

would be cool to 3d print it, with hifi vesc no senor is needed for brushless motor and 18650 cells getting cheap cause of EV's, also would be cool to have the battery seperat in the back back to use it for other stuff too... just me imagining haha

doesn't Begode EX have suspension in the engine?
No, it has high pressure dampers on each side of the motor I think attached to the pedal hanger/axles. Not exactly sure how it works but it's not internal to the motor, I know that much. I fail to see any real benefit to an "in motor" suspension anyway... seems doomed to limited travel and a high likelihood of causing motor failure. As another note, in common usage the word engine refers to combustion engines whereas motor is used specifically for electric motors.

I'm still waiting for telepathic braking system. The stopping power of most electric unicycles is not that good. Also, the Chinese need to upgrade parts as most the screws are poor quality and can break any minute. They have the "look" down but actual quality of all the parts from the plastics to aluminum are still very primitive made in China low quality.

And wouldn't work, because as soon as the euc brakes without you actually breaking because your brain tells it to, you would just fall over. For a Esk8 that's a good idea, or for a E-Bike
