Ik im kinda late, this a common bug purely on looks doesn’t affect the actual gameplay, as soon as the R xd is ready you a sa Pyke will see their execution bars
For anyone who is confused about the ult being able to be used when it shouldn't be. Its a bug where the indicator isn't accurate to the actual cooldown, it happens when you use the ult right before the reset is about to run out. Its been a bug on Pyke for a long time now.
If you want to know whether you can acutally ult or not, just know that if you can see the execute indicator you can use your ult no matter what the cooldown says. You can also ping your ult to fix it.

Just guessing here. But it seems like a bug with the reset mechanic of the skill. He steals the blue buff while having it on cd. The cd reduction is normaly applied when you first cast the spell, but somehow it gets bugged with the pyke ult. Prob some good old spaghetti :D

I think pyke functions much better as a bruiser-lethality hybrid than a pure lethality champ, his lategame impact goes to almost zero when he's pure lethality since he's way too squishy. I feel like throwing in a jak'shos (because that's now a bruiser item tbh) severely increases his survivability and allows him to stick around more in fights. there's a balance to be had between pure lethality + ad and building some resistances so his tiny health pool can still take a hit or two

Pyke is such a fun champ to play when you play to actually fight people and not just to be an execute bot, like he has the tools and damage to actually assassinate people by himself but both his team and the enemy team only see that R button. Spooked quite a few people by turning on them when they think I'll run after missing R.

I actually had a similar experience with an Asol. i was playing Caitlyn and was doing TERRIBLE against kennen soraka bot. I didnt know how Kennen worked and when i tried escaping i get zapped.
Bro kept flaming me when i had only one death more than him. Told him, "YOu dont get to talk smack unless you get more kills than me." And what did he do? Go and try and 2v1.

Edit to add: i am a support jungle main and i wanted to play ADC so i wouldnt wait 8 minutes for a game.
support have the lowest que time in the game most of the time its 1min or less

It is pretty messed up to think that Yone could literally kill people just as fast as you but you could get 2-tapped whereas he's so tanky he needs 4-5 people to take him down.

Hilarious that someone trying to compare Yone and Pyke movement, too. Yone literally has twice as many dashes as Pyke at 4 (1 on Q, 2 on E, and 1 on Ult, all of which will continue through CC), and Pyke has 2 (1 on E and a blink on Ult --if it hits--, and neither buffer through CC).

With this game I learned that Pyke's ult counts a projectile for Gwen's mist
Gwen doesn't blocks projectiles, it's just prevent all damage outside or her range.
its actually cause Gwen cant be affected by things outside the mist, so Pyke ult wont land and he doesnt get to teleport to her
what im thinking happened is that the timer for his ult started when he first cast it, but the visual timer started at the cast he did on the minions.
It happens when you ult and then wait out the timer on the recast and then use it RIGHT before the recast timer ends. It gets put on a longer cooldown visually on the UI, also you can ping it to fix it.
It would be cool champs would do more/less damage to certain objs, from turrets to baron
Why Zombie Ward and no Ghost Poro? Second option gives as much utility and is much easier to stack.
Edit. To confirm my words - above 35 minutes game and 0 stacks of Zombie Ward. Pick Ghost Poro next time! For support role in most high elo games it stacks even faster than the Eyeball Collection!

With the Gwen interaction, pykes UKG only moves you if it hits the champ. Gwen’s w makes it to where the ult can’t hit. You’re still outside of the box, so no damage

The ult on 12:20 was such a scam, she was clearly on execute range AND got teleported to the X meaning you hit her so how tf did that not execute :D it seems like she did heal so maybe it went above the threshold but at the same time why didn't the healthbar change then RAAAJOOOT

Love the gameplay, though it also shows what I really hate about Pyke. You say it yourself as well, the drop off in usefulness you experience after 20/25 minutes is just too much.
I play a lot of Aram, when someone rolls Pyke I try to get him and swap him out in the last seconds of lobby. Cause those modes are just sped up to the late game.
