Great review! The packs are 100% virgin wool, made in the USA. It's the same wool that we use to make our tracker Jackets. Rick Labbe coined the term "Noona" meaning if you grab a track at noon, it will hold all you need for the afternoon hunt.
Paul, based on your review of this belt back and your previous pod cast on your deer hunting equipment dump, I just purchased this pack from Big Wood Buck's. I am trying to minimize what I carry in the woods on my deer hunting trips and I believe I can make this work. Thanks for your review and input.
Great job comparing the old and the new and comparing the different sizes. I bought one of those last august and used it pretty much every time I was in the woods during the fall and winter. This spring I did have a light dry cleaning done to get rid of some stains and smell. The dry cleaners though it was 100% virgin wool by the feel of it. Overall this is a great pack for the price and the deer woods.
Gotta say that I wouldn't consider a water bottle holder a bell and whistle... my Grayl gets daily use when I'm tracking during the season.. having access to grab the bottle, take a swig and put it back on the move is pretty handy, for me at least. Thanks for the review.
It doesn’t specify length other than it’s adjustable to fit large waists. It adjusts a quite a bit and there appears to be plenty of extra strap to go pretty big.
I bought both large and smaller one last year when I go to my stand for the day I’ll take large one with my coffee and lunch in it when I’m tracking I’ll take small one I really like them both was thinking about one of the BWB jackets but I went shopping online at Filson got a wool jacket from them and pants now I’m out of money lol thanks for the video
Is the pack big enough to hold a couple game cameras along with some survival gear? I am teaching myself how to track and i like still hunting. I have a woodlot i hunt in Central Maine and periodically i come across an area where i want to have a couple cameras to set up just to see if its worth coming back there or not.
The larger pack has room for a couple cameras and extra gear. Nice to hear you'e trying out a little tracking! While not the easiest way to hunt, I find it the most rewarding. Good luck this fall!
@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast it's been nearly impossible tracking on bare ground. I've been relying on cameras to tell me if different areas are worth going back to or not. Sometimes I think I'm just following Deer thay aren't stopping which sucks because I can never seem to catch up to them. I've got a few swamps around this wood lot I hunt and it's a guessing game as to what trails they use to get around. They've got so mamy trails they walk that you just guess and hope you stumble on one moving.

Thanks Victor! Glad you liked it.
I bought the one with the shoulder straps..
Best pack I've ever used. Well worth the money
That’s nice to hear!
Nice video Paul very nice pac I like it cause it’s waterproof. I’m going to look into those. I really like the green checkered pattern
Thanks Dan! It’s been one of my favorite packs.
Thanks Paul for the review. I just ordered mine.
Nice Marc! If you spend a lot of time in thick woods, I think you’ll appreciate. Good luck!

😂 to each their own 😉. Thanks for watching and good luck this fall!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast you as well!
How do you keep the grayl filter from freezing? Never have carried it tracking because of that concern
Carried the Noonah last season. Love it!
Nice! Love to hear it.
Great video! I'm planning on getting one soon.
Thanks! Good deal! I’m looking forward to hunting with the smaller one this fall.
Great video. I guess you just made my decision easy.
Regards
Mark
Haha! 👍 Thanks Mark.
Thank you for the honest review
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
What is the belt length? Do they offer an extension for us big boys?
It doesn’t specify length other than it’s adjustable to fit large waists. It adjusts a quite a bit and there appears to be plenty of extra strap to go pretty big.
I’m wondering if they call it the noona because Rick Labbe mentions it’s the perfect size for when he hits a deer track at noon?
Great video thanks
That’s exactly why! (As I recently found out) good call!
Good job Paul
Thanks Joe!

Nice John! Yeah, I think I’m going to love the small one. Man, I love Filson, but it is hard on the wallet! Thanks for watching!
Paul it says it’s 22oz 100% preshrunk wool
Interesting Wayne. Mine does not have a tag stating that. The website states 22oz virgin wool but does not indicate it’s 100%. Thanks for watching!

Snow is a game changer for sure. It tells you a lot about what's going on. Keep at it...it will eventually work out!
Sorry Paul I thought I saw 100% my bad!
Hey, no worries. I was expecting to see something indicating the ratio of wool…to my surprise, nothing! Thanks for watching, appreciate it!
