I was inspired by your install and the nice Polk UM series. Just put them in today. For the life of me....I could not get them in the opening It fit the faring opening as a test, No stock tubes installed. It fit the Adapters- on the bench. I had to float the Big Plastic Crossover Cap on back, around speaker magnet! Mounted speaker to ring, slip Plastic Cap into opening Start on Adapter screw, Unscrew speaker, installl 2nd screw, tighten all, screw down speaker Left Cap of, supported with Polyfil .......You didn't have any trouble?........(right side was worse, tighter)
one you must have the adapters/pods. take out the tubes. the area of the fairing that holds the tubes in place (screws) you will need to dremel and shave a little to widen the area for the magnet to slide by. good luck!
Dennis Bingham THANKS. I wish I would have test fit them while the fairing was off. I have a blue 2012 like yours. Also run windshields like you too. LOL. Thanks for the instructions, I think I'll go back and do that. But when you Dremel the opening, will it go back to stock? I mean you don't destroy the screw holes for the tubes to you? Thanks again.
yeah I never take the fairing off just pulled a tube shaved a little bit off of the support screw for the tubes and slid right in took me about 30 minutes :-)
Dennis Bingham ....cool. yeah, I had the the fairing off when I install the Amp and did the speaker's the same day. I'll take your advice. Gotta love the internet and how people help each other.
Yusef Todd - you are able to stack on top of deck. I had them installed and asked how it was mounted. zip ties was the answer. I wasn't worried about it because it is a very small amp with very little weight and zip ties would definitely do the trick as I seen other people installed the same way. They don't make a bracket for the Alpine app that I'm aware of, however they do sell a bracket for the Rockford Fosgate 300 x 4 amp that a lot of guys were using as well. I'm getting ready to actually swap out that amp for the Fosgate in the next 30 days. The only reason I'm going to switch it out is because I'm going to be putting speakers in my bags and wanted a little bit more punch now that I will have for speakers. The Alpine works just great though if you're going to run just two speakers up front.
WOW what a noticeable difference. Do you still have them? Do you have the contact person ( Brewster) and is he still doing this type of adapter mods? Very Nice!!
I have the same speakers and amp. How did you set up your amp? Do you have it bridged? What frquency did you set the high pass? How far up did you turn the gain? Can you turn your stereo all the way up? Are you still using the AVC and what do you have it set at? Thanks
Hickboii I had the luxury of having a stereo installation place right across the street from my work so I had them actually do the installation. I know for one they did not Bridge and also I told them that I wanted the gain only to be put on 1. anymore than that you'll have heavy distortion. regarding turning the volume up. I've heard and some guy that the volume only goes to one level and doesn't continue to climb. I'm really unsure and that's probably because all I need is volume 13 for my riding....
"Pods" 🤔 Curious word. Haven't seen that used for speakers in the forums or in your video but I'll assume you're just talking about speakers. Thanks for reply!!! I'm getting some! Settled on Kenwood KAC-M1824BT Amp. Hope it has enough power. I liked that its Bluetooth
Just wondering did you keep the speaker sleeves in or did you remove them? I have 5.25 polks no amp and it sounds like my music is coming out of a can.
DJGENOTYPE they had to be removed with the magnets on these speakers. however you can purchase other speakers that fit on these pods in the fairing that you don't have to remove the sleeves personally I like them without the sleeves
here is website that makes them, They always say they are out of stock, but if you email them they will make to order, They also make the speaker pods for your bag and other cool thinks for the bike. engineeredadapters.com/shop
for not being my type of music, I'm quite impressed with the sound! Polk audio has always had a strong name and great sound delivery! ride safe.
for those not knowing who Randy Brewster is, you can find these adapters at www.Engineeredadapters.com

Dennis Bingham thanks for the info.
Anytime
Just another question? is that amp marine certified?
Doesn't really need to be as long as your fairing doesn't leak.
Did you leave the "tubes" in?
Behind the speakers
You have to remove the tubes for these pods
"Pods" 🤔

If you look at the speakers they are actually sitting in a 3d pod. Only way to put 6.5's up front
Ahhh, the printed rings.
Yeah I have a set of those.
Thanks
I hate this things. They make my music sound like it's coming from a can.
