I think ASU is stronger than what most people think because nobody would really think ASU would get there in year 1. I can’t guarantee they will beat Texas but they can compete at the same level. ASU has a much favorable chance against Clemson but Texas will be slightly more difficult. For the people that don’t watch ASU, ASU beat Mississippi state in week 2 the same team that played Georgia and ole miss close. It’s not like they played a mountain west schedule either. They blew out an Oklahoma state team that beat Arkansas as well. I think ASU can compete with a lot of the sec teams but there’s no guarantee that they will win
That was before they got hot too. These past three games we’ve been on fire as long as Dilly keep his foot on the gas and doesn’t let up like he did against byu. He was definitely playing them a little safe/scared.
The thing with the sec is it's the deepest league talent wise by a mile. It's why teams lose to teams they should beat on paper sometimes. Especially after a big game. The sec Produces the most NFL talent. This is the difference. Arizona St beat Miss st by 7. Imagine if they played Georgia next. Then Alabama or Tennessee. Maybe LSU or South Carolina. There's ole Miss. A schedule with only 3 of these teams is unlike anything asu has faced this year. In a one game scenario anything can happen, but week to week there's no conference in college that's even close top to bottom. Maybe the top but not the whole conference. Asu has a helluva team. They can beat TX and Clemson. But one off neutral field games are completely different than playing a decent sec schedule. The crazy thing is, sooner or later Oklahoma and Florida will start playing to their program's potential.....
The X factor for this ASU team is they're "the island of misfit toys" - everyone came from somewhere else where they were the 2nd or 3rd option, and here, they got their opportunity to shine and came together as a unified team. They're dangerous.
ASU can rescue the Big 12s reputation with a couple of wins. Everyone beat Texas when they were in the Big 12 so a SunDevil win would not surprise the drive by sports media. Beating Oregon would mean a lot and would not surprise me in the least
That is not how that works. Why are you not picking??? Everyone beat Texas when they were down. You’re comparing an SEC built Texas team who destroyed everyone, other than a Heisman finalists this year, to a team who was horrible for a decade.
We are more of a nightmare for Oregon tbh. We’ve played them extremely close as of late, former pac12 schools we hired Dilly away from lanning so that’s another cool story. I’m really hoping we see two pac12 schools in the semis going head to head since I’ll never get my Jeanty vs Skattebo matchup
ASU is the real deal and legit top 4 in nation. A running back no one can tackle, a QB who is future NFL player who is on fire with a chip on his shoulder, quality 20:28 receivers who fill the Tyson void, a coach and players who play balls up to win and aren’t afraid to fail, and a defense that is super aggressive. Don’t buy into media echo chamber. Ewers and the horns find ways to lose big games. ASU should be the favorite.
Texas has not found ways to lose big games. Their only lost was to a UGA team who’s match up better vs Texas. ASU is not UGA. Saying Texas vs ASU for Texas is a big game for Texas and they will find a way to lose is stupid. They just dominated Clemson… yet you’re saying ASU is??? Texas has beat all of their Rivals this year. And won their first playoff game. The only team they lost to was UGA. So literally you saying they find ways to lose games makes no sense. It is 2024, stop living in 2010.
I like matchups with both of these teams. They both have some struggles stopping the run. Texas is 15th in rushing defense but has only played two teams in the top 50 in rushing. I think it really comes down to game plan, don't try and stop Skatt because he's going to get his yards, try and contain him. Turn a 10 yard run into 5 and the 50 yarder into 8. Do that and control the game clock. What really concerns me is can ASU contain these prolific passing attacks. ASU is 70th in passing defense and that has led to some close games that looked like blowouts. No matter what I think it's going to be a fun hard fought game.
Ewers has been hobbled most of the year. If he comes out firing like he does at times, I expect a long day for Clemson. There’s no use talking about ASU just yet. Clemson is the only team in the radar right now.

Otherwise they are identical.
All that aside, the Texas defense hasn't been good because of who they played, they have been shutting down teams. People hate to give Texas any credit at all, but the defense is as good as it gets this season.
Texas isn't at Texas' level. They'll find a way to eff it up.
Is Texas schedule soft or is the mid SEC teams beat them selves up. Where does Vanderbilt finish in the Big 12?
Vanderbilt would finish near the middle of the pack of in the present Big XII. They would beat Baylor and Tech for sure.
Vandy finishes just about Houston in the Big 12
@@caleshtcincredibles I have followed college football for more than 50 years, have been in game rooms with coaches and spend time inside a major college football program. With that said. Vandy would finish in the middle of the Big XII. Same as Kentucky and Auburn.
@@caleshtcincredibles OU, Arkansas and Florida would finish near the top LSU and South Carolina are major threats to literally roll every team in the Big XII. You could say the same about A&M,
Baylor would roll Vandy. Texas Tech idk depends on the day.
Texas will stomp ASU.
Texas needs to stomp Clemson first !! Good luck with that .
@jerseyjoe82364 it will be their first ranked win if they beat Clemson. Bless your heart, but at least pretend to be realistic.
Clemson played really well vs. SMU, despite being a close game. I think both teams could’ve beat Texas and Georgia. And no one wants to see another Texas Georgia match up.
I hope the Texas players and coaches think that. They'll wake up being down at halftime and realize how dumb they we're to underestimate one of the hottest teams in the country.
@blaineballard9073 when they watch the film they will not think that . ASU is really good .
