    I think ASU is stronger than what most people think because nobody would really think ASU would get there in year 1. I can’t guarantee they will beat Texas but they can compete at the same level. ASU has a much favorable chance against Clemson but Texas will be slightly more difficult. For the people that don’t watch ASU, ASU beat Mississippi state in week 2 the same team that played Georgia and ole miss close. It’s not like they played a mountain west schedule either. They blew out an Oklahoma state team that beat Arkansas as well. I think ASU can compete with a lot of the sec teams but there’s no guarantee that they will win

    • @evangelionl0vr857

      That was before they got hot too. These past three games we’ve been on fire as long as Dilly keep his foot on the gas and doesn’t let up like he did against byu. He was definitely playing them a little safe/scared.

      Disagree with the Texas thing. Ewers is just not that good. He telegraphs his pases and doesn't look off his receivers.

    • @MauMauBinghi
      @MauMauBinghi 13 дней назад +2

      The thing with the sec is it's the deepest league talent wise by a mile. It's why teams lose to teams they should beat on paper sometimes. Especially after a big game. The sec Produces the most NFL talent. This is the difference. Arizona St beat Miss st by 7. Imagine if they played Georgia next. Then Alabama or Tennessee. Maybe LSU or South Carolina. There's ole Miss. A schedule with only 3 of these teams is unlike anything asu has faced this year. In a one game scenario anything can happen, but week to week there's no conference in college that's even close top to bottom. Maybe the top but not the whole conference. Asu has a helluva team. They can beat TX and Clemson. But one off neutral field games are completely different than playing a decent sec schedule. The crazy thing is, sooner or later Oklahoma and Florida will start playing to their program's potential.....

    The X factor for this ASU team is they're "the island of misfit toys" - everyone came from somewhere else where they were the 2nd or 3rd option, and here, they got their opportunity to shine and came together as a unified team. They're dangerous.

    ASU can rescue the Big 12s reputation with a couple of wins. Everyone beat Texas when they were in the Big 12 so a SunDevil win would not surprise the drive by sports media. Beating Oregon would mean a lot and would not surprise me in the least

    • @tyreek.6815

      That is not how that works. Why are you not picking??? Everyone beat Texas when they were down. You’re comparing an SEC built Texas team who destroyed everyone, other than a Heisman finalists this year, to a team who was horrible for a decade.

    ASU is the real deal and legit top 4 in nation. A running back no one can tackle, a QB who is future NFL player who is on fire with a chip on his shoulder, quality 20:28 receivers who fill the Tyson void, a coach and players who play balls up to win and aren’t afraid to fail, and a defense that is super aggressive. Don’t buy into media echo chamber. Ewers and the horns find ways to lose big games. ASU should be the favorite.

    • @tyreek.6815
      @tyreek.6815 2 дня назад +1

      Texas has not found ways to lose big games. Their only lost was to a UGA team who’s match up better vs Texas. ASU is not UGA. Saying Texas vs ASU for Texas is a big game for Texas and they will find a way to lose is stupid. They just dominated Clemson… yet you’re saying ASU is??? Texas has beat all of their Rivals this year. And won their first playoff game. The only team they lost to was UGA. So literally you saying they find ways to lose games makes no sense. It is 2024, stop living in 2010.

    I like matchups with both of these teams. They both have some struggles stopping the run. Texas is 15th in rushing defense but has only played two teams in the top 50 in rushing. I think it really comes down to game plan, don't try and stop Skatt because he's going to get his yards, try and contain him. Turn a 10 yard run into 5 and the 50 yarder into 8. Do that and control the game clock. What really concerns me is can ASU contain these prolific passing attacks. ASU is 70th in passing defense and that has led to some close games that looked like blowouts. No matter what I think it's going to be a fun hard fought game.

ASU has oeaked at the right time and is playing good solid football but talent wise I do not believe they are on the same level as Texas, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, or even Michigan!! However, I have seen some wuerd things in football at all levels of play and college gas gotten similar to the pros where any team can beat another on any given day!! 2023: Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama. 1 of the 4.
      2022: Georgia, Michigan, Tcu, Ohio St. 2 of the 4.
      2021: Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Cincinnati. 1 of the 4.
      2020: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St, ND. 3 of the 4 and that's pushing it as most of the starters are gone from those teams.
      So 3 of the teams in the last 3 years, and 5 if you include the last 4, with most who saw action gone. Overgeneralize much?

      The "Best win" argument is based on wins against ranked teams. Ranking of teams is a semi-political process, not a good metric for good teams and bad teams.
      There are a number of data analytic models out there you can look at to see if Texas played good teams or not.... The ranked wins SoS is flawed.
      I've pulled and analysed the data myself and I can assure you Texas was a middle of the pack in regards to strength of opponent.
      Even if you look at the ESPN SoS you'll see Texas played the #36 schedule...... ASU is #66 --- Clemson played #57 --- Oregon played #52 ---- It is all relative.
      Texas did lose twice to Georgia, but the won every other game with a margin of victory greater that 14 points.... That is what a good team should do, right?
      You are welcome to believe whatever you like, I just thought I'd offer an outsider's view.

    • @elche1976
      @elche1976 13 дней назад

      @GeraldMothershed I enjoyed your opinion response. At you said, it's a semi political argument. Those preseason rankings are gifted based on hope and expectations and not results. So the SOS is largely based on inflated preseason rankings. Funny how they managed to escape those ranked teams, except Georgia, which they lost to, twice. Actual results are more important than perceived strength. Take from that what you will. Just thought, the spin cycle goes both ways.

    • @GeraldMothershed

      @elche1976
      They played Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas and they will every single year. Typically these are really really good teams... Oklahoma had a rash of injuries, freak stuff really, and A&M had a slightly down year... Arkansas lost some close games.
      No, I don't think Texas benefited from a political preference, it's likely a scheduling cycle. Oklahoma got a tougher road this year, I bet Texas gets a tougher road next year.
      Not to mention that Texas played several ranked teams, they fell out of the ranks when they lost. Texas beat number 25 Vanderbilt, number 15 Oklahoma, number 20 A&M.... It's a real shame that Texas lost to Georgia. Texas beat the hell out of Georgia in the championship game, they lost because of a handful of mistakes. Two misses FGs a drop in the end zone another overthrow in the end zone.... Georgia was literally four plays away from getting blown out, but Texas failed to make those plays.
      If you have any questions about the Texas opponents you can find a number of analytic models that show that they played a much harder schedule than the ESPN SoS implies.
      You're obviously welcome to believe whatever you like.
      I mean, Texas only faced two teams with losing records, Georgia faced three.
      I analysed the opponent data myself and I analyze data for a living. When average over the entire season Texas faced average competition when compared to other SEC teams.
      Lastly, Texas and Tennessee had near identical schedules, any issue with Tennessee? It's a media driven myth designed to generate clicks.... Georgia seized on it to help with recruiting, Kirby basically said as much.

      @GeraldMothershed they played teams that were good in years past, but not this year. Gotcha. Blather on.

      🙄 Texas lost both times to the best team they faced. Texas AM was their best win. Not 1 of their wins is in the top 25. Congrats. That's impressive.

      @GeraldMothershed talent wise, up and down the roster they are stacked, no question. With the schedule they had, they did exactly what they should have done.

      They played the #36 SoS, which is way harder than Oregon, and many others.
      Not to mention that the SoS is largely affected by team rank, which is a semi-political process. If you actually crunch opponent data you'll find that Texas was in the middle of the conference.... The schedule topic is a bit of a myth.... If you compare the Texas schedule to Tennessee, you'll find that they played exactly the same schedule except Tennessee played Alabama in Knoxville and Texas played A&M at Kyle Field. Otherwise they are identical.
      All that aside, the Texas defense hasn't been good because of who they played, they have been shutting down teams. People hate to give Texas any credit at all, but the defense is as good as it gets this season.

    Is Texas schedule soft or is the mid SEC teams beat them selves up. Where does Vanderbilt finish in the Big 12?

      Vanderbilt would finish near the middle of the pack of in the present Big XII. They would beat Baylor and Tech for sure.

      Clemson played really well vs. SMU, despite being a close game. I think both teams could’ve beat Texas and Georgia. And no one wants to see another Texas Georgia match up.

      I hope the Texas players and coaches think that. They'll wake up being down at halftime and realize how dumb they we're to underestimate one of the hottest teams in the country.
