But first, Dave recaps the latest NFL news and free agent signings, including OT Mekhi Becton to the Eagles, RB Ezekiel Elliott reuniting with the Cowboys, and WR Michael Gallup signing with the Raiders. Then, Cynthia joins to recount the experience of attending the NFL Draft in her hometown city of Detroit. After that, Dave and Cynthia discuss the idea of 'value' in the draft, how NFL teams determine what that means, and which teams did the best job stockpiling value in this year's draft. Next, Cynthia explains the riskiest draft classes and the teams with the most boom/bust potential. Finally, Dave gets Cynthia's take on the Atlanta Falcons drafting QB Michael Penix Jr. with the 8th overall pick.

I think the Penix pick was a terrible pick but not because of his talent. Penix is 24. Having a 24-year-old wait behind a veteran is just punishing to the player and the team. Justin Fields is 25. The Falcons could have just taken Fields to have a plan for the future and still used a high draft pick to improve the team.
For just a 1 year difference in age you would have a young QB with NFL experience and great potential. Fields also doesn't have a long injury history.
The Falcons signed a QB in Kurt Cousins coming off of an Achilles injury to have a 24-year-old rookie back up with injury concerns.
Good Luck to Penix but the Falcons just did him a great disservice.
