By the way, dog is 100% correct about the trinkets in the beginning. I was in love with demons and I thought Felbat trinket was just the way to go. After losing several games forcing it, I can attest 9 is too much.
I hate that people in duo love forcing it too much. No shop buffs and good trinkets to pivot/scam? Nah waste your turn to get a felbat with no drakkari or spam ping me to go for it.
He yapped too much and downplayed the value of a guaranteed felbat. Ofc you never pick it if you has no shop buffs, and have better alternatives, or/and you have an urzul or bunch of 3 drops.
Forcing most things in BGs is bad, that's not really useful information. But if you have any amount of shop scaling felbat trinket is usually pretty good, gives a good amount of tempo to just beat everyone up before they get their comps online
Hard disagree with Dog on this one. I'm obviously not at his MMR but I don't know if I've ever gone fourth or worse with felbat, and I've gotten far more firsts with it than thirds. But that's anecdotal. He said to do the math, so here are some numbers. Comparing felbat at 9 gold to glowing gauntlet at 2, I'd only go gauntlet if the shop had multiple premium minions or mucks showing or if I already had Ur'zul. Let's look at the absolute worst case scenario for felbat: you go into turn 9 with four demons on board, you've only buffed Bob's board once, and you end the turn with a shop full of patient scouts. How much tempo does your 9 gold buy you? 33 stats. If you go with Gauntlet with no way to capitalize on those stats right away, you'd need to buy or eat three minions to do better with gauntlet. as stopping at two would be slightly worse at 32 stats. Now, buying three isn't impossible, and you've usually got eight gold to play with after spending two for the gauntlet. But that's the absolute worst case scenario. Rarely am I going demons if I haven't buffed Bob's board more than once by turn nine, and the odds of getting all 1/1s by that point is laughably low. Far more likely I've got at least +6, which is three felblood procs, or a pair of staff spells. And looking at Dog's first board of turn 9 this game, he averaged just under 7 stats per minion. Add to that 6 from buffs and your 9 gold is buying you 78 stats spread across your five demons. You'd need to buy or eat five minions with +8/8 to beat that. With an Ur'zul already up and running or some other extenuating circumstances you can beat it for raw tempo, but shy of that? Not happening. Nine is expensive, but when I'm forced to take gauntlet and I don't have an urzul, I'm usually desperate and spending too much trying to get an Urzul, Felbat or even an Implicator, anything to capitalize on my greater trinket. Felbat just hands it to you in one neat package. My wife has gotten it while staying on tavern three, when Ur'zul would be a distant dream. Maybe different play patterns forced by the increased pressure by opponents and needing more than big dumb stats, but as far as I can see the math doesn't support Dog's derision.
Adding the trinket board overlay is such a game changer I absolutely love it The switching back and forth so you can't read the cards was so f****** annoying I hope this is for every video from now on
It's been like that since the second video of trinkets that zenron edited iirc. But he forgot to add it in yesterday's video which is why most youtube viewers are suddenly realizing its there
100% admit Dog will make better choices in almost every situation than me, but I really do not understand why he didn't grab Cry Foul after Fighting Arana, she had a few cards that really would have benefited his board, Macaw, Mount, another Baron and double raptor which sure the triple isn't a big deal but it's another shot at the mount all for 2 gold. Be cool to see insight on this.
In my experience felbat trinket is purely S-tier. I won with it many times, and I lost to it many times. And the one who picks it, goes turbo ahead of everyone. Ofc, when you pick it, you are already have a massive shop (lesser +1/1 trinket for each refresh, or for units sold, etc). And ofc you have false implicator, that is the most important unit for midgame in the whole comp, you wont survive till turn 9 without it, maybe a couple of them. So, them eating 1-2 units leaves only 3-4 for felbat. But with this trinket felbat eats 7. That is DOUBLE of 3-4! Double scaling.
Wouldnt it be better to replace the 6 drop for manasaber? This way when the bird attacks again all frogs go to the manasaber but also manasaber is guaranteed to spawn ttaunts, so more protection for the barons
The point dog is making about felbat trinket is true. it does have potential but its huge sacrifice on the turn so it just becomes more situational. somethjing being "not good" in hearthstone usually means its not reliable and too situational. it doesn't mean it does have potential to be strong. Anyone can win a battlegrounds game. The challenge is making your rate of winning higher. The reason felbat trinket isn't that good at 9 gold is because the odds of being able to put it together with its high cost and no real same turn immediate reward is lower than a lot of other strategies. He said he takes it sometimes. It's just not something you want to consider as often as you might think.
It's funny, I started a game of hearthstone while watching this vid and picked the exact trinket he said was awful and giga high rolled a 6k lobby. What a time!
I don't want to be the guy that says Dog is always right, *sometimes* he does some questionable decisions, but the talk about Felbat Trinket in the beginning is the reason why he's on high MMR while everyone is just bunch anons coping in the chat...
Yep, it's not the final potential, but also realizing how you get there and what pieces you need for it to work. If you don't have the setup ready, then you're fishing for a drakkari or a second felbat and until you have it, you are weaker than you would be with a different trinket
I feel like dog was over harsh on the felbat trinket. It gives you more units in the shop if youre rolling. You probably already have a board full of demons so you would normally miss eats especially with imp. I do agree it is only good if you have a buff shop small trinket though
That's why you reborn some units. You're not 100% going to have a favorable situation if you know people are playing cleaves. Also, hoping you go first and beating their initial cleave.
Random question, but could you combine leapers with the 4 drop amalgam and Poet so that the amalgam keeps the leap deathrattles and stats from combat? Anyone know if that interaction works?
haha i feel you i sometimes think that too, from the last 11 or 12 games where i played leaper and like in 7 or 8 nobody was playing a Deathrattle game and nobody even played rivendare I only found 1 Rivendare in all these games together. Sometimes the pool is very weird I was a couple of times about to ask how many minions are in each pool and if some minions have different numbers although they are in the same tier. Sometimes some minions dont appear in over like 10 Games which is like 500-1000 Refreshes which is very weird. And this also counts for lower Tiers Myself I think its def. a Bug in the Randomizer. And also I feel like Rivendare is the least to find minion in the Pool overall - thats why I stopped aiming for Deathrattle Games with Rivendare Like Beasts or Pirate Exodia - just never find the Rivendare. And you just sit there with leap and its giving +1/+1 at turn 13 rolling for like 4-6 turns only for the rivendare Im now only playing these comps now either with the Trinket Rivendare, Denathrius Quest or with some Pivot Board where I highroll Money or With some Gallywix comp where I can roll a million times while having a board and just collect all the necessary cards and then pivot
leapfrog is the worst meta ever for BG, when beast is in the tavern +50% of the lobby goes for it and other minions are not used / are useless when leap comp is complete. It's overcheated.
Me winning with my cute 500/500 leapfrogs (1v1 for FIVE turns) while I'm watching dog bully his opponents with 15 gazzillion stats froggers. All is well. Good night from EU, US. I recently Played fellbat Trinket with millhouse wich actually worked pretty Good because you don’t Need to refresh the Shop. But it’s True 9 Gold is a Lot it always depends though, wuff wuff
So damn dumb, you have goldenizer and you could just golden a whitemane. Even if it hits the T6 beast, the opponent lose a lot of stats and survivability. And you always taunt 1 titus... I can't stand watching all these dumb decisions.
Hey, thanks for editing the flashbangs to a still image of the trinket choices, appreciate it!
These last leap vs leap fights are the battlegrounds equivalent of "my dad earns infinite amount of money" "well my dad earns 2 times infinite money!"
43 min this be a long one

Yeah I think this is one of the longest games he has had, the vod was 52 minutes

The 44 mmr after this monster game is the cherry on top lmao
43 min leaper game oh no

His 12/12 frog with taunt didn’t die wow
I wish Blizzard would enable beast/dragon lobbies just for a day, to see some extreme leaper shenanigans
Goes to 6star, buys a 2 star to win the lobby. Leaper is the best “design” in card game history 🎉
when i read 40 million attack i thought it was clickbait, but i guess not haha biggest leap frog build i've ever seen
Voone sniping the barons in the end just hurt my soul...
i feel like 2 gold barons is enough and you need the board space/spawning units at that point
In my experience felbat trinket is purely S-tier. I won with it many times, and I lost to it many times. And the one who picks it, goes turbo ahead of everyone. guy is rank 3 NA and chat still thinks they know better about felbat portrait smh
I'm thinking Blizz needs to update the numbers system to be something like 30.6k or 306k or 1.35b

4th -58 is just brutal
Good morning new zealand, make sure you bring an umbrella out today it's a wet one
"Just look at your placements" umm everytime I've had fellbat it was first or second lol however it being nine cost is a bit much.
This dude really argued whether or not to get a second golden bird with 3 golden barons on his board. Actual brainlet.

How do you arrange frog leaper build against cleaves?
That's why you reborn some units. You're not 100% going to have a favorable situation if you know people are playing cleaves. Also, hoping you go first and beating their initial cleave.
Nooo one more turn xD
I hope he's joking about the felbat trinket. Eveytime I took that i stomped the entire lobby.
2x speed is necessary here.
Random question, but could you combine leapers with the 4 drop amalgam and Poet so that the amalgam keeps the leap deathrattles and stats from combat? Anyone know if that interaction works?
Dragons and beasts are not allowed in the same lobby
dragons and beasts can't be in the same game for this exact reason.
Thank you both. Had no clue about that.
@@manythanks2 Thanks God.
