I bought this printer. It is very good. When using a color scanner with high contrast print there is sometimes color aberration from light reflection against the glass and reflection from the paper itself. As for the color print I found it fairly accurate. I did a test print from a digital camera photo, and found the deep blacks very slightly more crashed than what appeared on the monitor. I have very high quality monitors for photo editing. This however can be from the type of paper I was using. In the setup menu on the LCD screen I did a self calibration and this made a slight improvement. In the software setup there is a very elaborate color setup system, and also the color palette standards can be interchanged. At more than 300 dpi, it is very difficult for the human eye to see the difference. This printer is a 600 dpi color printer. The only way to know the difference with higher resolution is if the print was to be scanned and cropped in from the scanned document. This is normally not done by most people. This printer does not have some of the features of the more expensive printers such as automatic double sided printing and copying built in. This has to be done manually. There is an option for this in the properties menu. The cartridges are more expensive than with some of the other models of color laser printers. But, with a moderate amount of printing it works out cheaper and better than an inkjet printer. Toner cartridges don't clog up or dry out if not used for a while. This printer has no drum set outside of the cartridges. Each cartridge has its own drum built in and this adds to the toner cartridge cost. This in fact is better for performance. Overall this is a good printer for the price. The more expensive printers offer some added features such as automatic double sided operation, more speed, memory expansion, on board multiple job cuing, and etc. For a small office or home use these features are normally not a necessity.
Thanks for uploading this video! It was very useful. I especially liked how you zoomed carefully to the papers so that you could see the quality of the print very clearly in all the circumstances.
Its worth noting that this printer too comes with starter toners but they last a LOT longer than ink, especially as ink dries up if you do not use it for a few months. Also I read the manual for this model and it does NOT stop printing when the toner gets low like the older models, you can tell it to keep going. I'm not sure when they started doing that again but its a HUGE improvement over their older models that just stopped dead once they "thought" they were low.
The front small "Window" when the top of the printer is open is where the scanner bar scan's paper that is fed through the self scanner. it doesn't put the paper on the lower glass then scan it, it just drags the page over the small glass part instead of dragging the scanner over the paper it drags the paper over the scanner. The apps are applications that you can load and print like news stories and crossword puzzles rather then using the computer to search for and print from your computer you can print that stuff right from the printer. Copy is to make a duplicate of from the document feeder or the glass top. Scan is to scan a page to a digital copy or to be saved to a USB Device or Computer.
Thanks for the video. I totally agree with you on the inkjet printers thing & I've had a problem where the sellers (on my country) will stop selling inks after about 3 years of releasing the printer!! So we have to look for inks online or throw the whole printer away.
That glass piece is for the ADF (Document Feeder). That is the feeder on the top of the printer. The scanner will move over to there, and the paper will move through.
Question how has your laserjet been handling from the time you have had it? As your first remark having an inkjet true little page less ink. That Glass part is for usage if you have negative to scan - but not many 35mm film out there anymore. The Apps on the screen is helpful mostly for kids - but i just download the apps on the ipad mini do the same - except you take up memory on the printer. Seems you pretty psych on your printer
The apps are so you can print directly from them, say a news app, you can print the article etc... I just threw away an HP 8600 Pro which was the worst printer I have ever owned however HP Laserjets are the best printers HP makes so I'm picking this same model up tonight. Thanks for the video, it helped me see what I am buying.
Thanks for making this video, very helpful. The small glass you referenced is for when you are scanning or faxing using the feeder, that glass is all that is used for the feeder. I had questions about how the toner is on this printer compared to the POS newer model I purchased from Amazon (HP M177FW) which I would totally not recommend to anyone... it is very slow (4 PPM rather than 14 PPM) and loud because the toners are on a carousel that rotate to print one at a time rather than all the toners being on a tray like this one so printing can happen at the same time. The 200 also has a real paper tray rather than and exit platform rather than cheep plastic very flimsy trays on the HP M177FW. I have returned my HP M177FW to Amazon in favor of the 200 for $40 more based on this video I think I'll be much happier.
With this printer it is recommended to never use clone cartridges, or to use rebuilt cartridges. I know of incidences of damage to the printer from using clone cartridges. The warranty will be void with clone cartridge usage. Use original HP replacements only. NEVER use inkjet photo paper in this printer or any laser printer. The heat from the fusers will cause the surface coating on the ink jet photo type paper to melt and damage the rollers in the printer. Only use photo paper and regular print paper recommended for laser printers. I am very happy with this printer. It has been working well for me...!
Hey, neat unboxing. I purchased the M276n - the model without wireless. I believe that extra piece of glass is how the feeder scans when you make a copy or scan via the feeder on top. Anyway had an issue getting my wired network setup, the printer copied, and scanned to flash etc but for some reason it did not like scanning to a folder on the network. Trying to reinstall drivers in case I did something wrong but overall this is an awesome printer considering. :D
I printed some pictures with paper and photo paper. It printed well but the photo paper, you could tell the toner was layered on top of the photo paper. I'll have to try the HP recommended paper and see how that works. It just seems weird looking at the toner on top.
I wish I could find a color laser with a rear feed like the Canon I'm replacing. At work we make a lot of copies on the back side of a paper a day or week after copying the front. I don't like the idea of having to pull out the paper tray every time.
This was a very useful review, will help me make my own decision. Haven't yet decided what to replace my recently deceased Canon MP760 with, but am leaning towards a color laser printer.
My biggest gripe about this printer is the fact that there is no manual feed try or an extra tray to be able to easily print envelopes. You have to pull out the paper try and the paper and replace it with the envelopes, which is very annoying. If you look the the printer specs Hp says there is an envelope feeder/tray. Technically there is but that is VERY misleading the way they have it. it should really just read "it can print on envelopes". Other than that it's a pretty good printer.
andrewesquivel is it cheaper in comparison to other printers? and how much is one ink refill? Lastly what made you want this model? because I want one too!
its a good investment because you can get so much more out of a laser printer vs the ink jets. The toner price depends on if you go with generic ones vs name brand. It cost twice as much for 5 times more prints per dollar. Its worth it. Its an all in one, so it can do just about everything.
I believe it knows from a sensor if there is anything in the ADF. My HP Inkjet has a sensor that knows. If the sensor is activated then it uses the ADF, if not then the scanning bed is used.
Also for the Copy and scan resolution is lower than regular print I do see how the noise it makes for printing. more noise than my photosmart printer. Yeah the more for your money i agree - I just hope it will be worth it going to a laserjet color as a black laserjet i have experience with - but i'm worried about the color as you are and each cartridge about 90 bucks each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow to bad there is not like XL for laser Printer and get a few more thousand pages.
You are so telling the truth about the inkjet printers, as I have a barely used Epson all-in-one inkjet printer that litterally only uses 15 pages before it is barking for more ink. Refuse to spend another dime on it, nor would I give it to my worse enemy. It's getting trashed, and watching for this HP to go on sale. Thanks!
Pls I just bought the HP Laser jet pro 200 M276n, and i have been trying to configure the wireless but its not working. the wireless icon on the screen does not appear. if you can give me a configuration method i will be grateful. i also wish to change it from self managed to IT managed, how do i go about it? thanks for your help.
Came to RUclips - everyone told me you can find answers to anything. I can't believe you thought anyone (who had the money to buy this printer) would need help opening the box! Or making a copy. My problem was scanning - I seemed to be going in circles and getting nothing accomplished - wasting my time. Have you tried to figure out how to scan to a computer mainly. Plan to use that feature to save ink and paper (and space) HELP I'm getting dizzy running in circles,.
Can you only print black if needed too , if the one of the colour finish will you be able to stil l print black . some printers stop printing when a colour is low or finish
It could be worth getting the drivers from HPs website instead. It should also be possible to have Windows sort it automatically if you use the Add Printer wizard.
HP Laserjet Pro200 MFP M276nw I just got this printer and for some reason I cant get the installer cd to install,,It goes to like 79% and sits a min then it says Error! I tried getting the installer from web site,Nothing Works! I have windows 8.1 "64bit" It says its compatible but I cant get it to work, any ideas?
I'm pretty sure you can call them for support. I installed from my CD when directly connected to the pc on Win8.1 x64. Perhaps try registering it on MyConnect (HP website) first? That also gives your email address of your printer when connected to the network and internet.
Photocopying is never perfect. In addition, the fact that the original was process-printed like that means that the copy won't be as good as something copied from an original printed some other way.
Great Video, shame HP couldn't have done one. When the ink runs out, in my experience its time to throw the machine out, however there is a con programmed into the cartridges. The machine will tell you that the ink is running out because the chip on the toner cartridge is programmed to say buy a new toner. Believe me there is heaps left in the cartridge do a search on the internet for instructions to over ride the message. Also look into re-chipping the toner cartridge. Why throw the machine out? Again in my experience by the time the toners finally give out the printer will no longer be compatible with either the Mac or Windows new operating systems 3-4 years down the line. The term disposable society is spot on as far as printers are concerned. A full set of genuine HP toners will set you back more than you paid for the machine. All that said I will buy this machine and if I get 3 years out of it £260 well spent I think. This will be my 4th HP laser over the past 21 years.
Hello I would likto ask if how is the printer working for you? Is it any good? Because Ive just stumbled upon this printer and I am interested in buying it but im doing wheter it is worth to buy or not. Please tell me what you think on this printer. Thanks :D
Print the first time and then put the paper in on the manual feed. Make sure that your printer prints on manual feed automatically with a trial print. There may be a setting to select the manual feed port.

this is the review that helped me decide to buy one myself. I ended up do a review on it also.
Thanks Man!
what are you going to use it for?
pretty much everything.
Printing, scanning, faxing, ect.

because I want one too!

Just bought it at Staples on line for just under $300, with all the coupon codes I could find. Hope the ink lasts good.
Kasonas Starter cartridges won't for black but the replacement says 1600 pages at $60 on Amazon. HP 131A Black LaserJet Toner Cartridge Ink
Great thanks. I'm even impressed with the starter cartriges vs. the Epsom.
Very helpfull info.provided.... how much you pay for it? i need to buy this week....
well done !!!!
Beside the problem with the colored lines, it' looks like a good printer, but it making black line in colors, this is a crucial issue in my opinion.
The apps icon is for printing sets of papers from the printer it's self
how did you take off those orange things on the colors? mine wont come off for some reason..
Pls I just bought the HP Laser jet pro 200 M276n, and i have been trying to configure the wireless but its not working. the wireless icon on the screen does not appear. if you can give me a configuration method i will be grateful. i also wish to change it from self managed to IT managed, how do i go about it? thanks for your help.

do companies buy these, and what makes them so special?
I had a HP Color LaserJet 2600N that stopped printing black only pages when one of the colors was low. Very frustrating!

How do you mean that? Better in output quality or also in speed?

It could be worth getting the drivers from HPs website instead.
It should also be possible to have Windows sort it automatically if you use the Add Printer wizard.

you sound cute :) ....what kind of camera are u using?
the one thing inkjets are still best at is photo printing. color lasers just cant match

i think the color showed up on the copies because you pressed color baby. there wasn't much color on the actual paper u were trying to copy
are you still liking the printer?
