God, I freaking LOVE this game. Y'know, I could've sworn you uploaded this months ago and then deleted it for whatever reason, but maybe I was just seeing things.
The gamecube was actually more powerful than the xbox and ps2, but the thing is, nintendo shot themselves in both of their feet, and then their groin with the tiny, more expensive disks the GC used. IMO, they was probably a combination of this, the need to save money on ports or potential deals the company made for exclusivity Edit: I was wrong about the xbox, the gamecube comes close, but the xbox was the most powerful
@@itsmesteve1081 it was definitely more powerful than the ps2, xbox is less certain, but the GC ran faster and had more RAM than the ps2, the only thing that held it back were the tiny disks. But yea, the ps2 was the weakest of that console generation, it just played its cards right Edit: xbox was more powerful, but not by that much, I had read the specs wrong
Fair warning, when you try Godzilla Unleashed, you're gonna want the Wii version. If I remember right, the PS2 version was missing a fair amount of content, including the big boy Biollante.
Unleashed on ps2 was missing every single monster from the wii version, around 9 or so, on ps2 the lava dude was a clone of orga, and battra was a clone of mothra. All you got was a laggier version of save the world with only 9 maps and the new story mode. That's it.
Just watched this video. Let me tell you! I have played all 3 games during my childhood. Played Melee for the Gamecube. Save the Earth for the Xbox. And Unleashed for the PS2. Loved them all! NEVER KNEW THEY WERE A TRILOGY. I never realized they were all made by the same company.
As a kid, I had Destroy All Monsters Melee on the GameCube but my best friend had Save the Earth and I was INFINITELY jealous he had a PlayStation 2 and we would play this game all the time when I would go over to his house. Such great memories
There is one infamous bug in the game where in survival mode in the Manhattan arena, when you get to Orga (if you don't play as him), he will be stuck in the "force field"/energy wall opposite of where you two stand. Each time you hit him, he will be stuck in a constant and endless loop of bouncing in the energy wall. However, I HAVE managed to get Orga unstuck from this but it isn't easy.
Save the earth is probably the best of the trilogy. It has better controls than both other games and the roster is great. I played this game for hours and luckily is my last remaining ps2 game. My other faves being battlefront 2, lego star wars, jaws unleashed and spongebob battle for bikini bottom
Fotes & oats yeah true but not for games like this that take massive hours of time just to acquire two characters and then repeat on a different difficulty to get another two or so. A game like this isn’t worth that. If playing the mono tier is boring and repetitive, cheat codes could only gonna make it less frustrating without any draw back to the would be “fun” of the game.
@@celoniousalgar2760 Ahh man I mean not everyone is like me I don't really care how long everything is going to take to unlock I just ordered this game I can't wait to play and sit down for hours and unlock everything.
Fotes & oats I feel you. I just been playing old games lately too. I was thinking about getting a current console but sure enough there coming up with a next gen. No sense in getting caught up in it when you can enjoy the games of yesteryear for cheap.
@@GoofyPoptart how much did you spend on it? I want to get the xbox version cause it ultimately has more features(which I had no idea for the longest time)
There are only two advantages that Melee has over Save The Earth; 1) Custom soundtrack option, 2) the ability to play destruction mode solo, allowing players to destroy cities on their own in a way that truly captures the feeling of a monster movie without any competitive feel. Pure destruction. Otherwise, I do prefer Save The Earth over Melee, but I do wish that those two features had been retained from the previous game.
I really want to love this game but I just can't. When I compare save the earth to damm I feel like its a quantity vs quality situation. Save the earth has more monsters and enviorments but feels like a downgrade in every other aspect. Gameplay: Compared to Damm, save the earth feels really stiff, static and slugish. Monster that are knocked airborne or thrown fall quickly and never gain the height they use to. This prevents you from pulling off combos that you were capable of doing in damm such as godzillas throw uppercut followed by a regular uppercut or tail swipe. It also detracts from the over all spectacle of seeing monsters get sent flying. An example is how in the first game a monster at point blank would get sent flying by an unblocked projectile attack while in this game the monsters only fall a few feet away. Another change in this game is that the ability to block downed/get up attacks has been removed preventing you from following up the attack on downed foes and forcing you to stop and back away. And even If you do down a foe and attack you will do decreased damage from normal. Sometimes attacks will not stagger an opponet as if they have super armor for a moment leaving you open to attack. Another thing is that they also made it so tilting a monsters head is too responsive. In damm tilting a monsters head gave you a tool to help keep your projectile attacks on target, it was slower and more precise. Now it moves quickly in any direction rendering it useless. Theres also no longer a replay after battles that shows the last moment sof the battle. Adventure mode:Is a slog to get through now that you have to fight more monsters on top of the mini games where I could finish a playthrough in damm on hard in about 11-16 minuets save the earth is easily 30 mi uets or more. Survival mode:Use to be a gauntlet that lets you keep going until your defeated. Now it has a cap on how far you can go. Sound: The music volume is really low for some reason though messing with the settings can somewhat alwviate this. I dont know how to properly describe the sound effects but they dont sound as appealing as the first games. I usually compare megalon and gigans intros to the dame version and they just sound off. Fps: Im playing the game on an xbox360. Its usually not to much of a problem. But it does have moments where it really slows down and hinders gameplay. Graphics:The textures in save the earth are ugly. They have more details in them but are overall more muddied and the models are much more jagged as opposed to their smoothness in damm(I played the gamecube version). The color pallete is over all more dull and dingey while is damm the color pallete was more vibrant. The fog is pretty bad in save the earth. In damm the fog was more hidden due to the smaller areas, camera angle and blended in with the shades of the sky. Now the fog is very noticable engulfing whole buildings not too far from you and always within view. I want to like this game due to having more monsters and enviorments but there are way too many problems that hinder the experience for me.
Man, I got this game for the ps2 and it turns out that my ps2 slim doesn’t play any of the games I own, it says there’s an error, I looked it up and it seems very common in that ps2 model. It really sucks.
