One of my tactics for finding new artists & music back in the day of digging around in new / used record shops was to read the liner notes. Anything with Emmylou got bought! Maybe not John Denver, but my taste in music was built around all the others.
Emmylou has the most beautiful voice. She and Buddy are always fantastic together. When they played together in Spyboy they were the best live band you could ever see.
This is magic - I saw both of them perform this song at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle one year during Bumbershoot. One of the musical highlights of my life!
Thank you so very much, Sara, for sharing this. I was in San Francisco on late August, wanted to return for this festival, couldn’t make it-- and look what I issued! Again, thank you.
They are brilliant and together they are dynamite. This a such a powerful version, maybe better than than the original. Emmy is just such a beautiful person and her music reflects her beauty. This us sensational.
Such a beautiful artist is Emmylou! Wonderful song and performance… Just want to remind people that the first team to sing it was the Everly Brothers (gorgeous rendition)
@@lindajones8101 exactly my point. Now, Joni Mitchell, owner of one of the great vocal instruments, smoked cigarettes for many years and it took its toll.

@@margaretross9150 so you won't admit this current version by Emmylou and Buddy is not good sound. Do we hear what we want to hear not what's there? The Emperors New Clothes again.
@@danmiller4725 I was referring to the version of the song (Everlys, Gram, Nazareth, etc.), not the recording. Obviously this was recorded outdoors and is not studio quality. Nevertheless, I find it to be beautiful.
When Emmylou Harris sings duet with you, you know you’ve made it!

Love Emmy Lou, have for a long time, love this duet. She has such a golden voice!
She improves with age like a fine wine
Sung with such feeling. Gram Parsons lives on through musicians like these. 🎶
Awesome!
Emmylou has always been one of my favorite female vocalists and performers
Emmylou graces all she touches.

Thanks for posting this Sara. I love both of these fantastic musicians and I’m so jealous of you getting up front and (Almost) centre.
Ok, so this was amazing.
Why so few views?
Emmy makes it look easy, and that guitar was booming!

So great that Emmy didn’t do a number on her beautiful voice with booze and cigarettes over the years.
I wasn’t aware that Emmylou drank much.

She had the unfortunate seat of seeing , first hand, what sin did to Gram Parsons...
@@fancifulfilly Emmylou has smoked all her life and has admitted it.

Stop it! 😂
I like Nazareth's version much better.
Popularized by the Everly Brothers don't you mean? Better online there. This sound is not so good. I love Emmylou but not this bad reproduction.
Gram and Emmylou's version was nominated for a Grammy, and some people like Nazareth's version, so all three versions are popular.

Are you drunk? It sounds amazing. Don't be a dick your whole life. It's recorded on somebodies fucking iPhone for fucks sake. Get a grip tool
And written by great songwriting duo Boudleaux and Felice Bryant.
