I had one of these as a hire car recently (it was the only one available). I drive a Mercedes SUV and I was actually surprised at how many of the features I actually use were in this MG. My car has a lot of safety features that I don’t tend to use, but the cruise control felt similar to use, the Apple CarPlay worked well, and the seats felt pretty comfortable. Have to say, the engine was absolutely gutless & you could tell it was cheap and cheerful… but after three days, I started getting attached to the car, and started to appreciate some of its quirks. And for around $22,000AUD for a new one of these with a 7 year unlimited km warranty, I don’t know, it has kind of made me rethink how I feel about luxury vehicles. As soon as I got home and jumped back into my car, I did notice the difference… real leather and synthetic leather are just so different, and the cruise control on this thing isn’t the best when you are going up and down hills with so many speed cameras about (in my Benz, even going up and down hills, the speed doesn’t vary more than 5km/hr at most when using cruise control, but with this, speed varied as much as 10km/hr, and to me, that’s a concern because that could be the difference between a speeding ticket or none, BUT… when I think about the fact that my car was $100,000+ new, and you could get about five of these for the price of one of my car… I mean, it feels a bit hard to justify the price of some luxury vehicles now. I guess, the 7-year unlimited km warranty is the main seller for me - but I’d probably think about a high-spec Kia or something over this. Anyway, my point is, I’ve seen these everywhere and always wondered what they would be like to drive… and they aren’t that bad! For city driving, they are fine… they have some nice features, even if the implementation is a little hit & miss, and they are also pretty fuel efficient. The only thing that could be easily made better is a digital speedometer… I like to see exactly how fast I am travelling… and the carbon fiber detailing is a bit naff… and it sounds like I am just piling on complaints about this car, but they are all fairly minor, and for some reason, I kinda see this car as a bit of an underdog… I reckon when they bring out an updated version of this, it is probably going to be so hard to beat, because with the speed Chinese cars are improving, I reckon they will have fixed all of these little annoyances while still keeping the price fairly attractive too. I don’t know, I guess, despite all of my complaints, I am rooting for this car. It will be interesting to see what their road presence is like five years from now - will they be like the old Hyundai Excels? As in, seen everywhere, but within 10 years basically be gone from the roads? Or will they become known as being fairly reliable good first cars? Anyway, thanks for the video… and yeah, considering how cheap these are to hire also, I reckon whenever I need to hire a car again in the future, I’m just going to go for an MG like this. Everything you are used to in your own car, fuel efficient, cheap daily rate… fun(ish) to drive.
Thanks for the comment. I agree. It is hard to beat this value with all the features included. It is also worth mentioning that this car isn't even the best MG out there.

hello jerry. i am an owner of a zs 1.5 zs 2024 and the start - stop don't work. every time i stop the e light is blinking but never stop the engine. Please help!!!!! and how can i see the outside temp?
MG ZS Luxury is EU modeli and yes, your car have start-stop system. In order for the MG ZS Stop/Start intelligent fuel saving system to automatically shut down the engine, the following conditions must be met: Vehicle is stationary. The vehicle speed prior to stopping exceeded 6 mph (10 km/h). Vehicles with manual transmission: Gearbox must be in neutral and clutch pedal is released. On automatic versions, if D is selected and the brake pedal pressed the engine will automatically stop. Shifting the gear selector to P/N and releasing the brake pedal will maintain the engine shutdown status. The driver’s door is closed and seat belt is secured. The bonnet is closed. Transmission in Drive with footbrake pressed. (automatic versions only) No demands on the steering. (automatic versions only)
