DIY U-Bass made from a child-size guitar

19” scale kid’s guitar converted to a ukelele bass. This was a pretty easy conversion that anybody could do with some basic tool skills.
These are tuned the same as an electric bass or upright bass. They use special rubber strings that allow for a shorter string length and lighter tension. The particular stings on line are Pahoehoe strings made by Toad Road.
It takes a little getting used to! I’ve only had mine finished for a few days, it is definitely taking some adjusting - but it is a blast to play!!
