- Porsche 911 Targa SC is reviewed here, one of the outstanding 911's from the 1980's.
For a fraction of the money you would pay for one of Porsche’s limited number cars, you could have a classic 911 that offers all the necessary ingredients and idiosyncrasies we associate with Zuffenhausen’s famous flat-six cars.

Wow super cool Porsche 911 😃 Great share! BIG 👍 from Danish friend
Mr Lowe thank you ! 😄👍
Love the trip down memory lane. As a child of the 80s Porsche was my dream car.
I'd take any 911, Targas included. What a beauty
I'm with you on that one !
Had a 76 Guards red Targa 2.7 liter
It felt like it was carved from a single piece of billet aluminum. Great car!
Looks like a great example.
Thankyou for showing Roger great presentation
Community Tours Australia thanks, good to see you again
essential viewing here again Mr B, loved it. What a great car thanks for showing it
cheers Spook, glad to hear you liked
Hi Roger , this was the first 911 I bought , a Carrera SC Targa in Grand Prix white and I paid £20 k for it ,from Cridfords in Weybridge ...and I loved it .
You needed Charles Atlas arms to steer it , massive leg muscles to use the brakes .
But what a car ....wish I still had it .
Your story seems very similar to mine with your love of the brand.
Superb viewing again Roger ....Thanks.
MrDallman nice to hear from you again, your SC Targa must have been quite a thing to have, thanks for sharing that
Class video Roger. Wow! what a totally stunning car. Loved the whole retro theme in the video and seeing such a classic as the 911 Targa SC. Who wouldn't want one?
Tartan Mac nice to here from you and that you liked the retro theme
A fantastic trip down memory lane, I will never tire of seeing those beautiful older 911’s, the rare occasion that you see one driving around I always stop for an envious look. Great video Roger as always. Have a great week.
cheers Daz you too
*Hello Roger* ohhhhh a 1980's car...and what a car! 🌸 Thank you for sharing this 𝓢𝓾𝓹𝒆𝓻 ⓋⒾⒹⒺⓄ with us 🌸🍾🍷🍇 Greetings from la France in Europe🍾🍷🍇👉🏻
hello Sylvie, lovely to see you here again 🍾
Now you got me sentimental my dad had one in the 80s a Targa SC in gunmetal without the rear wing. Keep up the good work Boss great job on this Vid! Oh and nice choice of background tracks! 👍
thanks PR
Classic, would love to spend the day with her, Roger you are living the dream.
this was a cool car alright, would suit your channel 😎
Very polished presentation Roger, no doubt the owner is well impressed. Might just be worth having a closer look at its history, all that glitters isn’t necessarily gold but this particular example certainly appeals to my Porsche weakness. Thanks for sharing.
Geof
PS. Had a quick peek and it’s a nice affordable buy for someone who is looking for an air cooled Porsche for some weekend fun 👍🏻.
Thanks Geof, it would benefit from a bit of tidying but mechanically seemed very sound, best - Roger
love the retro theme of this video, nice change, slick video
Thank you, appreciated
Always wanted a 79 911..
yet again another very well made video, it was a pleasure to watch it.
thanks Alan
this is a lovely old car, thank you for sharing
Diddi Batna thanks 🙏
Now I want a 1981 yellow Targa, thanks ! great video !
ha ha me too - cheers
This old girl certainly looks gorgeous. Especially with that useful PicNic spoiler on the back. No need to bring a table :-)) And not a single blonde stalker in sight!? Did you manage to give her the slip?
However, I really do like the "new" 911 Targa 4 GTS. Got to an age in my life where 4wd is going to be a must for its safety aspect.
Great videography and editing again RB.
Your No1 Stalker.
cheers stalker no 1. no 2 . given the day off this time :-) i agree about 4 wheel drive
@@RogerBaileyOnCars - Given a day off eh!> Oh! Well. Suppose No2 has another 364 days till the next one :-))...
well made and entertaining video great old car
Glad you enjoyed it
Definitely grow your hair back like you had it in the 80s Roger. Very cool. Lol. Great video.
ha ha thanks Neil, I shall start the grow back process tomorrow.
really nice color like it 😊
Thanks for sharing this.
thank you
Nice car roger, i loved
thanks Carlos
That yellow gives it a Covin look
....older "loose" cars can feel a little bit self built
nice colour targa cool vid
Yellow Porsche Guy glad you like that colour !
A great video and review, I have driven an SC once and I will concur with what you say about the driving experience, I'd be interested in hearing what condition this one is in, it's paint looks good from the video, but it's interior looks a bit distressed which I guess is understandable given its 37 years old.
I'd say it was in fair condition, seemed mechanically sound, no sign of rust and priced well. good hearing from you again Gary - Roger
not a lot of exhaust sound but otherwise a super video, I'll be watching this one again
thanks si , actually the exhaust was a bit muted
Great video, thank you. One criticism: I really wanted to hear the car!
Obli20v thanks, yes I should have got more exhaust sound although it sounded pretty muted
@carcleaningguru do you know the trim of this car?????
Nikos DIY looks like the guru was cleaning his NISMO on Rogers drive
@@laurencemajury8422 yes, I didn't notice that.
It is a PORSCHE.... with a soft a sound at the end. There is no debate about this.
By the looks of him I think Roger is really happy to be with this 911.
Or is that just an fold-up umbrella in his pocket?
😜
Sweet Roger but the sports come on in 2020
In yellow??
Was that your RD250 Roger in the picture?
ThePoppycat42 it was actually an RD400 and yes it was mine ! - I'm into bikes as well as Porsches !
would have been nice to hear the engine and not just the monologue, no offence intended, but the car is about the engine. Never understand why people put the whale tail there when its not a turbo and hence doesnt need it, even the head of porsche at the time was not a fan of spoilers, awful addition IMO... but without it a pretty car
noted 👍
@@RogerBaileyOnCars and i say it more than anything else as i just bought a backdated 911 and wanted to hear the engine ;)
