I mean, I am enormously fat, yes. We all have our vices. But are you familiar with the concept of "zoom". I *could* make it so that I was in a teeny tiny corner of the screen if that would enhance your experience.
No idea if this was a positive or a negative video. The price on the big box is so reasonable and so much less then I would pay for all that plastic, but those individual team boxes are, for sure, a lot.
I was specifically referring to the individual boxes and card sets. The big box is, especially if you can manage to get it discounted, pretty reasonable for GW.
The box art for brood bros on the sunday preview says 10 minis, which is basically just the shock troop. If it included the broodcoven sprue then it'd say 15. It also says "Broodcoven operatives sold separately in the main Genestealer Cults range." Like blooded states 12. 10 troop plus the ogryn and enforcer.
I never expected the £40-odd brood coven box included in the brood brothers. This box is cadians plus upgrade sprue. And it's a bit expensive even for that. (And why I snapped up _Termination_ as my first official, from-brand-new, 2-team KT box). (Smart folk might blue stuff/green stuff the extra bodies option. There are plenty of cadians arms/heads plus the GSC ones.)
IIRC, they said that The GSC command set (Patriarrch, Primus, Magus, & little guys) was included in Termination, but not going to be included in the individual release since it was it’s own existing kit. Basically the definition of a 2 box team (& I really hope that you don’t need more guardsmen than that initial 10).
If you want all the possible options, you need about 5 additional guardsmen in addition, but you can make a perfectly good take all comers list without them.
The owner of my flgs is fantastic, he lets me pre preorder any of the big box sets (although I do spend a lot of money there), it does take away that pressure from Saturday mornings.
What would you suggest for someone who's just interested in the Terrain/core rules (digital or physical)/equipment pack. I'm not interested in either of the teams.
If the app isn’t good, I’ll photoshop my own cards. I like the cards for Nemesis Claw as well (I’m painting them now), but I’m not paying $35-40 for a pack of cards that will become invalid after a balance dataslate or two.
This is it, since the rules (for the teams anyway) are going to be free the community can ethically produce cards/apps/websites that can be better then what GW produce. The Advantage GW have of course is there app will always be first with the new rules, so it would be nice if it was actually cool and usable.
Absolutely worth the price. The only comparable set out there is the Shatterpoint set. If they'd just updated the 6'" measure to an 8" measure it'd be perfect.
be good to see what the extra terrain releases will include. i have to choose boarding action or 2xgallowdark ( into the dark ? is that it ? ) assuming the price+discount is right. teams - where can i get a more than one box needed to build the variables guide ?
I think the price points for those will be interesting. I have covered what models you need for each team in separate videos where I go through the rules for each team which you should be able to find on the channel.
The price of the box is very reasonable, as most of the shops sell it with discount, 10)20/25%... The price of the individual KT is high I think... The price of the cards... Forget about it, I think no one is buying that...
I agree - and I am glad I already have all the individual kill teams I want! Great way to get everyone to buy the big boxes is to make the teams very expensive when they come out separately.
I'm in this really specific niche category of people who 1. Play Tau 2. Like the idea of alien auxiliaries more than high tech battlesuits And boy we've been eating good lately. The only issue is, I both set myself a rule to NOT buy anymore warhammer this year, and also have real life expenses I need to deal with first. Considering every game store I go to has the Kroot box I was super worried about picking up, I hope I can get this box in the future as well
@@TabletopImpulsedo you?! Mid season 2, supply was indeed a nightmare, ...but for Octarius, for Into The Dark, these launch boxes hung around for a while didn't they? ITD for sure.
I'm hoping to score get a copy of Hivestorm. My current plan is to sell off the Vespids to a friend, as he's really into all things Tau and I'm not. Here's my question. Does anyone know or have evidence that the datacards for the Vespids and the Scions will be in the Hivestorm box? I've seen pictures of everything else, but not the datacards.
No evidence that the data cards are in there, and to be honest the number of influencers that have sort of said "oh look, no data cards shown in the picture" *pregnant pause* makes me assume that they are trying to communicate "and I have the box at home in my spare bedroom and let me tell you no data cards" but I could be wrong.
I don't care about the teams - they look cool, but I i have no connection to them. But I take want to get properly underway with KT24 asap. Want the terrain and scatter, i guess the rulebook is convenient. And also suspect there'll be no better pair of teams (for now) for playing the new rules on the new terrain than the Aquilons and Vespids. (Cf kommandos and guard). So maybe i can sell them later on? I guess I've sold myself on the big box! It'll be the most I've spent in one go on GW. Gulp
It's funny, in the UK it's £145 and the shatterpoint core set is £164.99. But in the US it is $230 and Shatterpoint is $164.99... I mention shatterpoint because that's the other comparable "full game in a box" starter box for a skirmish game that springs to mind. So from my perspective in the UK it seems quite reasonably priced, but over in the US it is positioned as an expensive imported product. (in the same way that we in the UK are paying over the odds for the US produced shatterpoint)
I'm not getting Hivestorm, getting other stuff(necromunda for proxies), no cards to much expensive+get outdated fast, overall I'm grumpy but I can wait a few months to get a box of Navy Breachers, Side tangent concerning the "Win a Years worth of Killteam" is that alot?, waiting for someone to do the math for laughs.
TBH i find it a bit crazy that people try to convince themselves that this is a good deal, just because they compare it to the individual price of the stuff that GW sells when separate. Books shouldnt cost 40 pounds, especially those with a 3 year time limit a pack of cards that will go out of date in a year shouldnt cost 20 pounds - you could print some yourself for a fraction of that again. The terrain is pretty generic, you could make some yourself or just 3D print something that looks close for a fraction of the price and especially, teams shouldnt be costing 42 pounds +, they artificially hiked this with the excuse that they now include a few tokens, its not acceptable, they already did a blanket price increase of 5% some months ago. we are getting close to a cost of 10 USD per model now, its all a bit nuts if you ask me, 3D printing quality has caught up already. with the inclusion of this Classified stuff i really wish the community would wake up and smell the coffee now. GW make record profit compared to any other toy company and they are just having a laugh.
No, I really think the box is a good deal. It's the same price as into the dark was which is an absolutely inflation busting price. I think it's quite negative to insist that it isn't. I agree that all the ancillary stuff is overpriced (though your comment about books is a little funny to anyone who has been to university!) The teams are really overpriced yes. Hard agree. On 3D printing, sure, but if you have an FDM printer it wouldent look as good, and resin printers are just too dangerous for me to consider, I'd buy one if I had a shed or other outbuilding.
Not true, I think there are a lot of Kill Team players that just have one or two teams and never buy more stuff. Which is why I have had quite so many comments about people being annoyed that the compendium is going away.
Really Phil, GW’s FOMO nonsense shouldn’t force you to make this type of choice. The dopey thing goes up for preorder at midnight here in the USA. I’m not playing this game. Even if I was sure I wanted it, which I’m not, I’m not sitting up in the middle of the night to get it. And yes, people can choose not to participate in this insanity and still complain about not being able to get the box set.
I guess so, I guess so. I just don't want anyone to complain that they didn't understand it would sell out. Like by all means make the choice to not do it, and complain. That's fine, what annoys me is people being *shocked* every time when they can't just saunter online at lunchtime and easily order a box. Like, you are right. Play or don't play, thats down to the individual. But understand the choices you are making. Also, having to stay up till midnight is a bit much. It's 10am in the UK and Europe, which is a bit more civilised.
Yeah, my daughter is getting married Saturday, and I really wanted to be there, to give away the bride, but... I have to stay home to order the FOMO box. Okay, I’m exaggerating, yes. But it’s just not right that people who might have other pressing matters... like perhaps going to work to earn money, to give to GW... are just sh*t out of luck. You should be able to focus on family activities, secure in the knowledge that you can jump online after the day is over and still get the product. Such hubris on the part of GW to expect people to organize their lives around being free on a Saturday to buy this stuff.
I found it weird that Termination never seemed to sell out (in UK), they just took it down shortly before the new edition arrived. (edit: especially since I ordered mine at 10am on the dot)
Dude is so big he barely fits on screen!!! Lol

It’s a lot, Phil. It’s a lot for sure. For what they’re charging for the models, the cards should be in the box.
No idea if this was a positive or a negative video. The price on the big box is so reasonable and so much less then I would pay for all that plastic, but those individual team boxes are, for sure, a lot.
Wait, the cards arent even in the big box? Insanity.

Yup brood coven seperate
This really sucks. Brood coven as a 10 man squad will just sort of loose every game and it seems like a real trap for new players.
It is quite bad. Yes.

And like the Vet Guard box, there are 'ancillary support' options to allow a pure 10-body team, but like Vet Guard, it isn't optimal.

Cheers Geoff!
Another $230 box so close to blood angels box, uffff. That stings, think I’ll take my chances at my FLGs and try and get that 20% off.

Absolutely worth the price. The only comparable set out there is the Shatterpoint set. If they'd just updated the 6'" measure to an 8" measure it'd be perfect.
They could also have thrown in a second Op's card pack like the original box had, and enough plastic equipment pieces for two players.
