It has become a rare phenomenon that it snows in Vienna. You have to seize the opportunity right away and go for a walk. For all those who do not live in Vienna, I took the camera and recorded the walk. We are still in Covid-19 lockdown, which is why there is less going on on the streets and many shops are still closed. I start my walk in the third district of Vienna and walk along Landstraßer Hauptstrasse to the first district. I make a detour to the Stadtpark to see what it looks like in the snow. Then I walk further into the city, pass small typical Viennese alleys, cross Kärntner Strasse, go towards the Albertina and Vienna State Opera, take a walk in the beautiful Burggarten, where the butterfly-house is also located. Then I walk across the ring towards Naschmarkt and Resselpark, where I end my winter walk shortly afterwards. Stay safe!

Hello anbax. Thank you for these walking videos of Vienna. They bring back great memories. My Viennese experience is different - I studied in Vienna in 1971-72 as a graduate music student for a whole year. The best of my life. Music-I attended over 50 operas and 50 concerts (standing room) that year. For one month, I lived off of Kartnerstrasse (In those days, it was filled with cars.) Then for the rest of the year, I lived only a few blocks behind the Rathaus (Wickenburgasse), renting a room from a hausfrau-the best way to learn German (most of which I forgot). On Saturdays and Sundays, I would walk from my apartment to the music school through the beautiful 1st district.
I did return for a week in 2010. I felt like I was 22 years old again.
I wish that your videos could have some lower thirds showing occasional street names or sites, but I know that would take a lot of time. I try to follow your path but often don’t know what street I am on. Still VERY enjoyable. Another thing I wonder about: sometimes see you walking behind someone trying to get past them - but everyone walks fast, I can imagine their surprise if they turn around and see your camera. Are there any stories there?

@@anbax oja, leider! Weiß noch wie ich als Kind (vor 15-20 Jahren) meterlange Iglus im Garten meiner Eltern gebaut habe. Das werden die Kinder von heute leider nicht mehr erleben

@@jeffjackson4150 the biggest is the one on the Rathausplatz. A good one is also on the Karlsplatz and at Schönbrunn. But there are lots of smaller and older ones in the first district

Unfortunately I was disappointed about this video.
It looks like you are photographing and walking speedy forward witho ut letting the viewers to really absorb the city.
For example, you were passing near Bakery/Apoteke, and suddenly I became really interested to watch what there is inside of it.
For someone who live abroad, there is a great interest to look what are the small places that defines the unknown places that we are really willing to travel.

There are no Flak Towers in Schoenbrunn Park. This one is in the Esterhazy Park, two more in the Augarten, that's what you are probably thinking of.
