Marshalling Yard is lookiking great Phillip. We all wish viewers would watch our videos to the end. In a TikTok world that is getting to be more of a challenge. The Underground sounds good. Happy modelling.
Wow, I have never seen the likes before, what imagination you have Sir, I applaud you. When I was 9 years old i got my first Tri ang train set, my Dad and I both loved model railways, to the extent that it was in my Dad and Mums bedroom, such memories of those days, I am now 71 and I dont have anymore, but love these videos, IT HAS BECOME A VERY EXPENSIVE HOBBY TODAY. Back in my childhood every christmas present and Birthday present for Dad and I was to do with the trains, well done Sir and may your display grow and grow and continue to bring such happiness to folk everywhere.
Thankyou. I use DC as it is much cheaper and I have been lucky to be given alot of stock and also I use ebay. I only started with a £3 car boot set and some hoe over 15 years it expanded, kind regards, Philip
You have achieved so much in 7 weeks. The yard and additional scenics have added considerably to the overall appearance. Well done, and thank you for sharing.
I watched it all - less than six minutes, not at all long. What you have done is indeed impressive - so many trains, wow. I look forward to seeing the tube train. As you say that you have lights in the houses it would be great to have little footage with the main room lights off so that we can see everything in night mode.
Philip, much progress indeed - well done! _British Rail's last shunting horse was 'Charlie' at Newmarket. Charlie retired on 21st February 1967 after shunting his own horsebox onto the train which took him to Clare Hall (Ston Easton) to join his working companion, Butch._ 🐴
@@model.train.railway. Philip, you most certainly were and it is so nice to see a shunting horse modelled (you've just got to add his 'driver' now)! 🙂 _Shunting horses (as compared to horse drawn trains) were surprising common yet so little is written about them. Shunting horses often walked in the cess roped to the wagon alongside. That way if the wagon started to roll the horse wouldn't get run over._
There's several videos I have just watched. I also looked at many pictures and I should have had the horse in the cress with a driver as you said. I did find this picture though with two horses chained to the middle of the wagon walking in the middle of the track, although it was a Victorian picture in a shunting yard. It must have been for longer distances I guess. www.gersociety.org.uk/images/stories/documents/Pupil%20Sample.pdf
@@model.train.railway. I'd indicated solo horses often walked alongside - but certainly not always! _The six-foot can be a difficult place to keep a good footing especially if the 'driver' is trying to lead a reluctant horse!_ Most interesting photograph including the use of metal chains instead of ropes.
Maybe chains are tougher and long lasting than ropes. I will put in my next video a more accurate horse drawn wagon pulling on the side with a driver. Thanks, ATB Philip
A massive change; you can clearly see where all the hard work has gone in the past couple months. Always a joy to watch trains travelling around the railway layout. All best
Wow, that's amazing work in such a short time, I've been working on my shuttle line adding a set of points each end and signals, trying to get them to work for the last 3 months, I take my hat off to you.
Great progress again! Just an observation but at around 3:39 in video, about centre screen beyond the diamond and r/h point, on the straight exit of the point the track seems to kink rather abruptly? I probably have similar on mine too!! Happy New Year, Tom.
I had a set of electrofrog points which fitted nicely, but caused a short circuit and had to put in the short pair of insulfrog points instead which caused the kink. Another job to sort out. Very well spotted.
Excellent work and thanks for sharing your ideas and techniques. Can you explain what is on the front of your class 25 by the turntable? I'm intrigued but can't quite find a good view.
What a good observation. I had not seen that. I was given the loco which had a cog that dropped out and I stuck it to the front of the loco not to lose it, but I could not see it from the room, kind regards , philip
Yes is a great layout but it much have cost a bit to build with all the Metcalfe kits I myself buy one photo copy it scratch build myself save money that way Bill
I did do that that years ago,but I did a bad job of it. When building the station canopies I had to buy them in 3 job lots as they were excellent but expensive. ATB ,Philip

ATB Philip
Thankyou, its nice to watch so many trains running round at the same time without human input ATB Philip
Some people may call this a layout. Doesn't do it justice. More like a living village in miniature. Exceptional effort.
It started off as one small loop and over the years it just expanded. kind regards, Philip
