Elle also reveals why the chance to work with Angelina Jolie on "Maleficent" was so special and teases that her upcoming series, in which she portrays Catherine the Great, is "not your classic period piece." I think by now Elle has met practically every member of the Game of Thrones main cast. She has co-starred in films with Peter Dinklage (twice), Lena Heady, Isaac Hempstead, Maisie Williams, Stephen Dillane and she got to meet Sophie Turner at the Met Gala. If they ever renew the show or do a spinoff, Elle should totally be in it.
Nah, it would totally lower her chance to be cast in movies(I love the great but i think 2 seasons is enough. Hoult and Fanning are big screen actors with A-List talent and potential that doesnt need to do a series forever)
I personally would love to see her getting involved in more mainstream movies like Dune part 2(Princess Irulan) or MCU(Gwen Stacy or Jean Grey). Having her cast in Nolan movie would be interesting though
Or arthouse pictures directed by David Fincher, Scorserse, Greta Gerwig,Damien Chazelle or Alejandro G Inarittu(she has worked with Inarittu and Fincher before. And with Gerwig as an actress) to increase her chance in winning awatds
@@skskskpost8852 If they do make a Game of Thrones spinoff it think it would just be a limited series. But yeah I agree Elle belongs on the big screen and shouldn't limit her talents to tv.
As a fan of Dune I agree she would be a good fit for Princess Irulan. A lot of people have suggested Saoirse Ronan since she and Timothee Chalamet have worked together before. But I personally would prefer Elle. She has also costared with Timothee in a movie and is just as good as Saoirse. Plus she is as tall as Timmy which although a minor detail I think is important if they are going to have a power struggle dynamic in the later Dune films.
I think she would be really good as Gwen Stacey, not so sure about Jean Grey though. Personally I think if she were to take on a superhero persona I think the best role for her would be Supergirl. Many fans of the comics (myself included) think she would bring a lot of gravitas to the role and she is still young enough to pull it off.
@@barbiquearea as i recall Irulan has green eyes and tall with blonde hair, which matched Elle perfectly since she has natural green eyes, blonde and also tall. Saoirse natural eye color is blue so yeah. People tends to pick Saoirse bcs it kinda remind them of Young Leo and Kate.
As for Jean Grey, she was on the initial shortlist for the part before Sophie Turner was cast(Reports said that she was Fox's and Singer top choice, there was also Jean Grey art concept with her face. probably she prefer doing Live By Night at the time). Im glad that at that time she ain't ready to tackle the role and we've seen Sophie Turner miserably fails to nail dark phoenix(blame to Kinberg too). We probably wont get any X Men movie until 2024 atleast(in which Elle would be 25-26). I personally think she will be ready to tackle the role at that age. Also marvel seems liked to pick its casting from A Lister that played in disney live action movies (Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Lily james has declared her desire to be in superhero movie so its only the matter of time)
To note, Elle has repeatedly stated that she hated mary sue characters and liked to overcomplicate a character. Jean is a complicated character and i think she could pull her personality off(although not so sure about dark phoenix saga, so in this case Elle is my alternate pick if saoirse rejected the part)
As for Gwen Stacy i hope she gets similar treatment to Emma Stone's rendition of the characters(except for the death). Witty yet charming. She was one of the top fancast back when homecoming was announced and probably still.
Not so sure about supergirl bcs i dont really know how kara personality is

@@skskskpost8852 I didn't know she was considered for Jean Grey for the last couple of X-Men movies. She's probably glad she dodged a bullet there considering how they turned out. I'm not a big fan of the X-Men comics so I can't say if she would be good in the role or not. Recently I heard Angelina Jolie is going to be in the Eternals, not just acting but also producing it. I could see there being a chance for Elle to get into the MCU since she is very close with Angelina from the Maleficent movies.
I wonder are they going to redo the Spiderman films or will they be continuing Tom Holland's arc? If so then Elle might have to play an older Gwen Stacey, probably an adult similar to the one we saw in Sam Ramey's Spiderman 3.
You know it would be interesting if Saoirse and Elle stared in a movie together. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet considering how they are both friends with Greta Gerwig.
@@barbiquearea in the light of current situation there is no chance we got gwen in the 3rd spidey movie. If sony and disney decide to continue into tom holland's college arc it would be perfect transition from Ned and MJ to Harry and Gwen. The good news is we could get Timothee Chalamet and Elle for the part if they decided to continue Holland's arc 3 years from now.
Oh yeah avoiding Fox X Men is probably miracle in disguise. Altough Live By Night is atrocious, She steal the scene whenever she had the chance. Her poor performance only in Sidney Hall and Maleficent 2(although the blame is on the director and writer rather than the actress itself). Saoirse have this kind of disastrous turn in The Host and some of her movies prior to the Grand Budapest Hotel and Brooklyn. I found the similar pattern with Elle recovering by All the bright places and the Great (too bad she snubbed for emmy. Hope SAG and Golden Globe will do her justice)
The Nightingale will be her big shot for major awards but i highly doubt the screenwriter according to its underwhelming repertoire(I Hope Melanie Laurent really elevates the script and staying truthful to the sources material).

I dont know whether Elle is close to Gerwig bcs i only knew they worked together in 20th Century Women. Probably she always has desire to cast her somehow scheduling conflict exists or gerwig didnt find any role that would fits Elle at that moment(Like Little Women, she is too tall to play young amy and looks too old to play beth)

A shame The Nightingale has to wait another year. We could have been seeing her at next year's Oscars.
This year is a tough one for either lead or supporting category so if Sony want to campaign Elle in the Oscars like they did with Saoirse last year with little women it will increase her chance to be nominated next year(Obviously by looking the release date, Sony want to push this one for Oscar Race)
Certainly the main concerns is that the writer(screenplay writer) is not the best in the room(according to the movies she wrote in IMDB,Rotten Tomatoes and Letterboxd).
Laurent could touch the screenplay though(Breathe was co written by Laurent and it was excellent). Lets hope the studio doesnt screw this one up.
If this become a major critical acclaim. Elle(and/or dakota) first oscar nod is a lock and we may see another Greta Gerwig-Saoirse Ronan in Melanie Laurent-Elle Fanning
