I been wanting a Impala since a kid I really want to own one. I remember my grandpa owning a 71 Impala.....I want one and customize it in remembrance of him
My dad bought a 1973 four-door Impala new back in "73. He took good care of it until my drunken brother crashed it into a row of parked cars and ended up with a fire hydrant in the front seat next to him when it came to a stop. He lived to tell about it but I don't think my dad ever let him drive the family car after that.
I remember buying a really nice '71 Impala 4 door in '76 for only $800 from the local Dodge dealer. In early '74, bought a decent '68 Camaro from the same Dodge dealer, for $500...... with a 4 speed. THOSE were........the ''good old days!"
The huge crease, in the drivers front fender, above the wheel, at the 12:22 mark, is due the frame being bent at the firewall on that same side. If you look at the frame behind the front tire you should notice a crease where it bent and the frame, in that spot, will be concave.
I have always dreamed of having an impala/caprice "rescue" yard where these cars could be safely stored. Sure wish I could have kept my 73 coupe, but the northeast rust consumed it. Fantasize about being able to do a frame off rotisserie on that car....Oh well, we all can dream I guess
Just outta couriosity do you have a passenger side rear quarter molding for a 72 Impala custom ? The long thin one that goes down the side.. I had an oops a few years back and have not been able to find one and I also need a passenger side wiper arm the springs in mine snapped if you can help awesome if not thanks for your time bud
Thanks for stopping by! The 1973 Caprice is available. I have been piecing it together from the parts of the Impala and it has made quite the transformation from what it looks like in this video. Send me an email mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com and I will get in touch with you on it
Hello, I'm not an expert but I did work at a Chevy dealer in 1972. Your Impala Custom coupe, the lower grille is Impala, the upper grille I believe is Caprice. Probably doesn't make that much difference. Also in 1972 for some reason, Chevy had a 400 sale and either discounted the 400 engine in the full size cars or made it part of a package and if you bought the package options you got the 400 for free . Maybe might be one of these sale cars. Thanks
The 400 V-8 was the standard engine for the Caprice and Kingswood Estate/ Caprice station wagons. The big block 454 V-8 is much more desirable now. Did you work in sales?
Yeah the big block is more desirable but since the 400 was discontinued in 1980 that 400 small block is worth something a hell of a lot more than the 350 two barrel cars the 400 had a q jet on all of them I believe because it was a torque monster that's why it was in those cars to push around 4500 to 5500 lbs w a fair amount of ease they came in motor homes and such as well big bore long stroke made it not a real high revving motor but a stump puller no doubt these are really nice rides and your sitting on a decent amount of cash there brother bet just hold out and get the money they are in real good shape considering the ones where I was talking about earlier in junk yards were there because they were already rust buckets in new England the salt ate them up in ten years they were done w usually under a hundred thousand miles on them that's why the drivetrain was usually desirable and in real good shape the worst would have been maybe valve seals cuz they were umbrella seals and trash anyway I can't count how many motors I changed out when I was 16 thru 22 when I still lived up there
Would you have a title for the 73 caprice? And how much would you want for the 73 caprice? In the state of Florida we must have a title along with the bill of sale
Hi we are near Newton Kansas. I have two 1973 four door post cars available. Both need work but were running in the last couple years. Price $4000 each The black 1972 Impala Custom Coupe is available, and is located on the Kansas/Missouri border, for $5000. It is missing the engine and transmission. Send me an email, mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com if you want to get together on anything!
I’ve owned a 73 Caprice 4 door, power everything and a 72 caddy coupe Deville. Also owned a 70 Impala custom 2 dr. Stuffed a 400 in it with edelbrock performer intake, Holley 650 double pumper, cam, headers, dual exhaust, posi rear axle, turbo 350 with B&M trans pack, B&M ratchet shifter. Blacked out all the chrome, was primer gray with rally wheels and low profile tires. She was a runner. New wife hated it, so it got sold. Wife is long gone now too. Should have just kept the car. 🤔 Truth be known, I got better service out of the car🤣.
I had a ‘73 for 14 years. Mine had JC Whitney headers, Holley, Offenhauser, B&M Quick Silver and silver tinted windows. I want to get another and radically modify it for a Ridler award.
I currently have a 1973 Impala available, and a 1973 Caprice. Both have good engines and transmissions, but need mechanical work to be roadworthy. Price $4000 each. I can be reached at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
Wish he had a 74 or 75 Impala Sport Coupe. They had the fastback rear window. 73 Caprice and maybe other years had a knit polyester fabric interior that wore like iron. My dad had a 74 Impala Sport Coupe. It was dark green with a light green vinyl top. He had matching fender skirts put on it. It was a sharp car but build quality was terrible. It started rusting out in 2 years. Rear window channel was the worst. 1972 Coupe DeVille is probably my all time favorite car.
I have sold all of these cars except for the red 1973 Impala four door. I have added another black 1973 Caprice four door. I shot a video on it this summer. Each of these cars are priced at $4000. They need some mechanical things done to get them drivable. You can send me an email for more details, mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com

Hi my friend. Nice old card. Love them
Back when cars were cars. Always liked the 72 impala 2 door pea green. I took my drivers test in a 75 caprice 4 door tank.
I love all of them even the 71 72 73 and 74
1971 Caprice is the best looking year due to the rocker panel mouldings, chromed front turn indicators, and egg crate grille.
Oh I want that 73 sedan!
So do I. He showcased the rust colored one but not the blue sedan.
