I really wish MoonByul sing this particular piece. her voice was the most painful one. I could feel the vibration. She is damn!!! MoonByul you're just great. Never ever think you're lacking or less than anyone. Girl!! you're perfect. So are others. Can't chose one. Love them for who they are.

It's because they didn't promote the song at all, since it's supposed to be a pre-release for their upcoming album. Mamamoo is underrated internationally (which is sad), although very trendy in Korea (K-Moos are numerous and many people love MMM there), but this song wasn't even performed on stage (a short extract for the SMA, but that's all) and came out at the same time as other bigger groups' releases. Guess the comeback will have a better response (otherwise, I'll just bury myself under pounds of sadness and sorrow, lol).
Yeah I saw it live but the sound system was horrible but they still slayed it. It amazes me that even though they are from a small company they managed to get themselves recognized and their fandom increased a lot through the years. I am just amazed of Mamamoo because they had to work their way to the top, I'm not trying to diss other groups but their companies had a huge impact on their popularity but Mamamoo basically had to work from the bottom. Well I don't really know what I'm trying to say with this but yeah xD

The thing I love about this song is that’s it’s a song of love, without ever directly saying the word “love”. Also, this song could be about a lover or a friend, and both are beautiful and sad in their own ways. I just really love this song, definitely going to be one of my favorites in 2018.

At Idol Drama Operation Team, if I'm not mistaken, Moonbyul said that she was supposed to be a vocal member, but her agency said, there's too much vocal member at the group. If she still wanted to be in the group, then she must change into the rapper. If not then she cannot debut as mamamoo. Moonbyul's voice makes me feel so many emotions, I literally cried towards the end of her solo. Her voice is so beautiful and should be used more! She has such a soothing voice and is actually one of my favourites in MAMAMOO! Still love her rapping, but would really like to hear her voice more.

Yellow was released first, indicating that they just met someone who started painting them, and yellow being the purest of the primary colors, where if you mess it up with any color, it’s obvious. Then blue came out, indicating a change in the relationship. Even Solar sang that the person has left and has created a metaphorical trench in her heart. It’s created sadness. Even in painting, blue is usually used to create shadows rather than black, because it damages the color too much sometimes. This hints at the relationship being too deep in and somehow dark. Then Red Moon was released. Alluding to a change in the relationship. A goodbye of some sorts. A parting. Although he hugs her, her heart “bursts like a volcano”. Meaning she still loves the person but she has somehow let go. There’s a switch of color here as well. Red being a transition colour where it’s not too pure but not too damaging in the spectrum of primary colours, compared to yellow and blue. Then white wind released, ending the 4 seasons tetralogy. Wheein sings that she’s blank like a canvas. Hinting the idea that she’s starting again for herself, she creates a new world for herself. No more colors. Just her. there are faint harmonies that you wont notice unless you pay much attention to every detail and every slow fade for each part, :) but what makes MAMAMOO the best vocals in kpop is not that the can do all the bells and whistles and those fancy stuff like belting and harmonizing, what makes them the best is that they can do something out of what they commonly do, and still shine, i love this girls can show us talent without having to be repetitive in their music, i appreciate their efforts to be different every time they perform.

I'm watching for the first time now. March 2020 and I'm mad AS HELL that I just discovered them like 10 days ago. I'm not a big Kpop fan...the only group I've managed to get into is Blackpink...but Mamamoo are EPIC. They should be massive internationally with their vocals, chemistry, personality and looks BUT NO. They're my new queens for LIFE alongside Ari, Taylor and Dua.
I remember seeing somewhere that instead of always showing their out going and big and bubbly personalities they also wanted to share this more mature and mellow side to them. And whilst I was waiting for that big "crescendo" or that really BIG moment, I was reminded of how great simple and plain melodies are. I was drawn to their vocals and was able to appreciate their different tones more. This song for me was great in every way. I think for artists once they portray a certain image and that image is loved by the public, it's hard to try and go out of that comfort zone and explore, grow and progress. Rather than sticking to the same style and getting boring, I'm glad they showed this side of them musically and am anxiously waiting for their actual title track (I've been told this was the pre-release track, not too sure)
I can safely say I have never heard a ballad like this from any Kpop group. Usually, there will be some bass beat kicking in by the second verse, or some random electronic beats or loud synths, there would definitely be an unnecessary rap verse, and certainly the vocals would rarely be this exposed to the listener. For this alone, I'm glad that it's getting them some good attention, they deserve it.
+Crystal Drops, I haven't forgotten about those talented dudes. But I'd argue that even their intimate ballads still have more *present* production elements going on but maybe I just haven't heard enough of their music. 'Paint Me' feels like a bit of a novelty to my ear, more of an interlude of a song than a full song. Ah well.

The song and the lyrics are gorgeous and best believe this is just the pre-release. oMG moonbyuls is so charming I love the deep tone of it and now she can finally showcase it in a main track and don’t forget her gorgeous self. Also Whee-in is becoming my bias because she is just toooooo pretty for life and I love her honey like yet strong voice.Don’t even get me started on solar and her stunning visuals and powerful voice.last but not least hwasa is sexy as always but I would like to highlight that I really enjoyed her vocals in this song especially her harmonies with wheein.

This song came out around the same time when I was having a hard time, and I remember sitting in my room watching and listening to it for the first time the day it came out, and I remember bawling because everything about it was so powerful. I was finally gaining strength after being weak for so long. That's the power this song held and gave to me. I remember it.

The music and their singing is so heart wrenching. Their vocals perfectly express the sorrow of a passionate person who's still hung up over a long term and special relationship that already ended . Desperation and longing painfully captured, this song is carved into my heart like a painful memory I can't help but reliving.
I love this concept its so beautiful, and so simple, there's barely anything going on but it's so nice to look at and yet they look absolutely stunning and you can totally focus on those heavenly vocals
FINALLY. I have been saying for years that Moonbyul needs to sing instead of rap whenever a song is not appropriate for rap parts, and THIS IS IT. This is how Moonbyul should fit into the group for songs that don't need rap parts. Also, she was supposed to be a singer originally, and it's only because the other three members are such strong vocalists that her company decided to have her rap instead. Mamamoo has expressed the desire to move on from their "beagle-like" image, where they are expected to be fun all the time. I can understand why they feel that way, but I have to say I will miss the fun Mamamoo we've come to love over the years (and in fact, it's one of the main reasons why people love them).

Maybe she told two different versions of the story, because the version many moomoos know is from a reality show where she talked about how she started out wanting to be a singer and auditioned as a singer, but then the company told her because the other members are already so good at singing (better than her), that she should focus on rapping instead, and that's when she started learning how to rap.
I like Posh Eggs and Sugar 930309 she didn't know how to rap in the beginning and was assigned to do so to stay in the group. But Byul learned to love rapping and writing (which suits her cause she's an amazing writer!) :)

I love mamamoo because everyone is good at singing (including Moonbyul who is also an amazing rapper). Also, they’re all good for sing with there natural vocals with their real voice. Compare (not trying to hate) other groups that are not as good. I also feel that mamamoo doesn’t get that much credit for their fact they have amazing vocals.

Just realized. Yellow was released first, indicating that they just met someone who started painting them, and yellow being the purest of the primary colors, where if you mess it up with any color, it’s obvious.
Then blue came out, indicating a change in the relationship. Even Solar sang that the person has left and has created a metaphorical trench in her heart. It’s created sadness. Even in painting, blue is usually used to create shadows rather than black, because it damages the color too much sometimes. This hints at the relationship being too deep in and somehow dark.
Then Red Moon was released. Alluding to a change in the relationship. A goodbye of some sorts. A parting. Although he hugs her, her heart “bursts like a volcano”. Meaning she still loves the person but she has somehow let go. There’s a switch of color here as well. Red being a transition colour where it’s not too pure but not too damaging in the spectrum of primary colours, compared to yellow and blue.
Then white wind released, ending the 4 seasons tetralogy. Wheein sings that she’s blank like a canvas. Hinting the idea that she’s starting again for herself, she creates a new world for herself. No more colors. Just her. Wind being a metaphor for a cleanse, starting again with new winds.
I just put this together in my head and I am blown. Shit these women are the real queens 😭😭

well, for moomoo it's no surprise we knew she was a good singer to being with ;)

I remember seeing somewhere that instead of always showing their out going and big and bubbly personalities they also wanted to share this more mature and mellow side to them. And whilst I was waiting for that big "crescendo" or that really BIG moment, I was reminded of how great simple and plain melodies are. I was drawn to their vocals and was able to appreciate their different tones more. This song for me was great in every way. I think for artists once they portray a certain image and that image is loved by the public, it's hard to try and go out of that comfort zone and explore, grow and progress. Rather than sticking to the same style and getting boring, I'm glad they showed this side of them musically and am anxiously waiting for their actual title track (I've been told this was the pre-release track, not too sure)

I can safely say I have never heard a ballad like this from any Kpop group. Usually, there will be some bass beat kicking in by the second verse, or some random electronic beats or loud synths, there would definitely be an unnecessary rap verse, and certainly the vocals would rarely be this exposed to the listener. For this alone, I'm glad that it's getting them some good attention, they deserve it.

FINALLY. I have been saying for years that Moonbyul needs to sing instead of rap whenever a song is not appropriate for rap parts, and THIS IS IT. This is how Moonbyul should fit into the group for songs that don't need rap parts. Also, she was supposed to be a singer originally, and it's only because the other three members are such strong vocalists that her company decided to have her rap instead.
Mamamoo has expressed the desire to move on from their "beagle-like" image, where they are expected to be fun all the time. I can understand why they feel that way, but I have to say I will miss the fun Mamamoo we've come to love over the years (and in fact, it's one of the main reasons why people love them).
I'm, sure they'll still keep their beagle image up outside of the serious song, it's pretty impossible for them! XD

Maybe she told two different versions of the story, because the version many moomoos know is from a reality show where she talked about how she started out wanting to be a singer and auditioned as a singer, but then the company told her because the other members are already so good at singing (better than her), that she should focus on rapping instead, and that's when she started learning how to rap.
I like Posh Eggs and Sugar 930309 she didn't know how to rap in the beginning and was assigned to do so to stay in the group. But Byul learned to love rapping and writing (which suits her cause she's an amazing writer!) :)

Came back to this song while waiting for white album.. what can i say. Unconsciously tears just started to fall down my eyes. Idk why call me weird. Its just i am truly deeply 101% proud of mamamoo heck they have come so far and this song i wasn't obsess over it when it was released.. i admit but now a part of me aches so much everytime i hear this song. I love mamamoo because everyone is good at singing (including Moonbyul who is also an amazing rapper). Also, they’re all good for sing with there natural vocals with their real voice. Compare (not trying to hate) other groups that are not as good. I also feel that mamamoo doesn’t get that much credit for their fact they have amazing vocals.
Ikr, its like most people not really see them as an idol group, i like them so different, i never saw other groups like mamamoo in kpop.

^i dont think you can really say that most fans dont give a shit about vocals. again, they are singers. whether theyre good singers or not is one's pure opinion but don't take away the fact that they are singers. that's literally an experience you have. i have dozens of experience where when i politely stated something like that, the fans agreed w me. just because certain idols have weak vocals doesn't mean that they're not singers. it just means they're singers with weak vocals.
