    Mike, I sure wish you spent time showing the wiring you had to do. “Got it all set up,” is all you say. Thanks for the vid. It helped.

      I've had a few people that have said the same thing. The issue is nobody could follow my wiring unless they had the same unit I do. And the basic instructions that they Supply with the fans are pretty much all that's required. On my videos, The lack of step by step on some of this stuff is kind of by Design. It's a prerequisite as to if the person watching is even slightly qualified to be the one performing the work. Plus it could definitely be a liability if I showed actually how to "do it" and their rig had something different going on and it burned down based on what I showed. Don't want that on my hands.. But, good news, you did it! So you are definitely qualified! 👍😁

    We have the same fridge in our Momentum. It’ll take about 3 months before you’ll need to defrost your freezer. We lined the back of our freezer with two custom fit sheets of coroplast, when it’s time to defrost it, we just remove the sheets clean them off and reinstall. Cuts the job time from roughly 2 hours to 15 minutes. Check into it!

    That board that you said is to keep rain from hitting the back of the refrigerator is really there to try and deflect air thru the fins on the coil for cooling. Nothing to do with rain protection.

    Im gonna have to get a camera in that top vent and look down to see if we have fans in there , too. Lol. We’ve had this camper for 5 years and I’ve never looked down there. There’s a false wall like yours in our top vent area so there’s a chance they’re there. We are in WV visiting mom and dad so when we get back home I’ll check. Ours is a 2017 so Rockwood may hadn’t started that yet back then. I’ll let you know though.

    What do you suggest doing if your refrigerator is a 110v ? Mine is 110v it has no fans inside the actual fridge area so stuff in the fridge takes a VERY long time to cool.. I wanted to add a fan to help circulate air throughout the fridge but wasnt sure how to power a fan from within the fridge?? Unfortunately most fans are 12v. Any ideas? I do have a light inside the fridge so could i possibly attach it to that light or maybe there is a way to run wires from a 110v plug outside the fridge to thru into the inside? I noticed amazon does sell 110v fans that move a lot of air that could seriously help!!

    With our Norcold RV fridge (12CuFt) I added a Titan twin RV fridge fan setup with controller to the outside top vent area (helps in hot temperatures). I installed these in addition to the 2 fans already in the stack area.
    The Beechlane ones you have look very similar to our Titan fans (also IP65 rated). I placed some rigid foam in the area above the fridge top (we have a shelf above that area that was getting hot, so the foam insulates that area.

    I've been looking for something like this rather then "rigging " something together. I have a dometic. Never worked rt from day 1 had it replaced. Works better but I do think I need to help that heat escape. What about installing on reverse on the bottom then another exhaust on top? Some of the mods I've seen on utube do that. Anyway. Good luck. Stay safe

    • @Rvdaydream

      As I mentioned a few times in the video, I'm not a big proponent of the fans blowing in potentially causing a propane flame issue but people have done it... If running on the electrical only then a "pusher" fan could work..

    I need to add these fans and wonder if anyone knows where I can connect to 12 v hot so when the fridge is turned on the fans will be powered. Since I am not a full timer and have constant power to the trailer when not in use I don’t want the fans on if the fridge isn’t being used. Similar to the inside fan, I wired it to the light and if the fridge is in the off mode no power to the inside fan.

      There are too many variations is the reason why I didn't show it. What I mean if you can tie into the wiring so many different ways it's so easy because it's so basic. So what works for me may not work for you because you would have to have the exact same RV with the exact same refrigerator options. And, even then, they changed the way they were out there wiring throughout the model year changes.

      You need to located 12v positive and negative and tap into those wires.. It's kind of a "self qualifying" reason as to why someone should be able to do it themselves or to have worked performed by a technician..

    I don't think it is going to make much difference on this setup. The baffling is done very poorly and you already have fans. You would be much better off fixing the baffling which usually can be done with some Styrofoam and a little tape.

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  2 года назад

      During the video, when I put the camera close, you can hear how much air the fans are blowing out... That's all hot air.. It's pulling alot of "stale flow" and giving it direction out of the cabinet area..

    It blows my mind they still put these useless refrigerators in RVs. They cost THOUSANDS and don't work while I can go to home Depot and get a compressor driven model for $500. Just put it in and forgot about it. Who wants such a high maintenance refrigerator

    • @Rvdaydream
      @Rvdaydream  Год назад

      Running on propane allows more mobility... Regular Fridge you buy at store uses 110 compressor that requires a pretty decent power inverter and battery bank to run for extended periods while boondocking... It takes 2 12 volt batteries and dc/ac power inverter to run a Lowe's refrigerator 16 hours... It takes 1 20lb LPG tank to run our double door RV fridge about a week... The best of both worlds is an RV 12volt compressor fridge.. They are very popular now... If you want to travel and stay mobile you'll need either RV LPG or 12volt compressor OR Lowe's fridge and either a generator or plugged in all the time..

      You just wired them as the instructions show. Which will be a 12-volt constant power. They have their own thermostat. They only come on when they reach the desired temperature. In addition, you can use the same control module to turn them off manually when the refrigerator is not in use.
