It would make the most sense to me that the wire type structures on their uniforms would be some sort of heating units. This would help them be more active in any environment being that they are cold blooded.
They actually use tubing to cool things down in most cases. Cars for example use heater and radiator hoses. PC's use copper tubing on their CPU heatsinks, etc. I guess they could pump hot liquids through them. But, they aren't in contact with the skin and they are exposed to air, which would cause heat loss. My guess is that they're decorative.
I think the due to what you said about the aquatic-xindi with their massive flagship. They could have been the engineers of the xindi. The could of been the Star Trek equivalent of the Star Wars Mon Calamari, which was as an aquatic species that built massive ships. It is just a theory, but I think it is a good possibility.
I think that's referred to in the show because the aquatics are the ones doing the building of the 7 million dead probe and the final weapon (writing final weapon makes me really think ENT season 3 is written like a final fantasy game in space)
@@occultatumquaestio5226 i don't even notice that. Maybe people are binging ENT because it's leaving Netflix and now these vids are getting more views from it.
I find the idea of five sentient species fascinating, directly in relation to my understanding of the evolution of life on Earth, being punctuated with natural disasters that wiped out never less than three quarters of all extant species. Had we never had a single mass extinction event, and all of the original lineages of Life had been able to cooperate and/or compete with one another, our planet may have developed multiple sentient species a billion years ago. It also interests me, trying to figure out their relationship not only with other species within the Xindi, but also to all of the humanoid species in the Galaxy, given the cannon idea that the reason that most are bipedal humanoid is due to genetic interference from a founding species billions of years ago. I can Envision the xindi being fascinated by the Vulcan idea of idic, infinite diversity in infinite combinations, and deciding to find another suitable home World, we're not only all five xindi species could live together, but we're, given at their time modern genetic reproductive assistance technology, they could, in theory, create a single unified xindi species comprised of all five original members. Of course, this is reminding me of how Earth is turning out to be today, where we have had major group formations outside of Africa, plus the Home Field genetic diversity found within Africa, all these groups' new alleles finally being able to reunite in descendants whose ancestors were common a million years ago or more. Alleles of genes are coming together here on Earth that have never come together before. Of course, it is more interesting from a sci-fi perspective when those coming together are of entirely different species and planets, but hey, we have lots of diversity to enjoy and knit together here presently. Let's celebrate it!
I just found your channel, but I'm enjoying this cultural index series immensely. I don't know if you plan to also look at novels, but I'd love some analysis of the Buggers from Ender's Game, the Arachnids from Starship Troopers, or a look at the Galactics from the Uplift Series.
No, they're more likely to be slat armor. In the real world, slat armor is a row of bars attached to armored vehicles to protect against the detonation of shaped charge munitions by stopping the detonation or having them detonate before hitting the main hull to minimize their power. As the video said, the reptilian armor traps the energy of phasers before the beam hits the person which falls inline with real world applications of slat armor.
After watching your Xindi videos, I noticed you constantly failed to mention that they have orifices in their cheekbones, which is a very important feature because it suggests that they might be sensory pits akin to the snout of some snakes.
They were mentioned now and then, just like the Breen. And strictly speaking, we haven't seen a Breen yet, either. Can somebody remind me of the TNG-episodes, in which the Xindi were mentioned?
In Star Trek Online, they are shown as members of the Federation, though they have their own ambassadors for when a situation may benefit from their experience. A Xindi-Primate Ambassador shows up during the Dyson Sphere Conference.
well not trekey . but look star map that syblole of federation. each show start earth moves further and further out. enemies become friends in next show. so guessing that either part of federation or like Klingons they have none aggression pack. as formable agents earth just start off space. it hard picture them do much harm agents borg or alution aliance or even romans. so further move out space big threat higher stakes. as most gazey of 4 quadrants most explored. interesting when federation decided leave milk way to another galley 4 new qudrents. will intesting what new threats be. also treaky time line been reset. so long hull get back to new qalizey as movies back organize stare track at moment. yet see all play out second time around.
Gonna say Voth. Some recommendation for races to cover, including ones from settings you haven't touched before. STAR TREK Tholians, The Dominion STAR WARS Jedi, Sith(the religion), Mandalorians, Wookie ENDLESS SPACE Sophons, Horatio, Hissho WARHAMMER 40,000 Orks, Eldar, Tau GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS Drengin, Arcean
R.I.P 6 advanced civilizations on one planet, if it was earth the solar system would be gone, I always wonder how 6 managed to advance without busting each others balls and losing 3-4 in the process
The guardian shown at 4:57 and the sphere following this image screams Borg at me. The guardian basically looks like a future borg queen and the sphere... the borg also have spherical vessels.
I doubt this is the appropriate place to ask this, but can/have you make/made a video about Section 31? (Been watching some DS9 lately, and am newley intrigued by them as of late)
ah " at the height of the Xindi Civil War, the Reptilians and Insectoids detonated large weapons beneath the eight largest seismic fissures of the planet. While five of the Xindi species escaped this destruction, the Xindi-Avians did not flee the planet and were wiped out." memory alpha
What explanation is there for all of the races that appear in “Star Trek Enterprise” that never appear in the series that take place many years after? Did they have no concern for continuity or just what makes sense?
It's not a true contradiction; the ST universe is teaming with absurdly high numbers of alien civilizations (which are clearly rare in real life), so it's not unrealistic for them to go unmentioned at the expense of species (e.g., the Romulans) that ARE mentioned frequently. To use an anology to real life, do infequently mentioned real-life peoples such as the Beninese and the Mosuo become less real for lack of being often mentioned?
That Builder looks like a Changeling/Founder became a Borg

Serene Cereans
But what about the droid attack on the Wookies?
Certifiably Ingame yes
Accidentally ASMR

I wonder if any Aquatic Xindi work with Starfleet in Cetacean Ops
I think that's referred to in the show because the aquatics are the ones doing the building of the 7 million dead probe and the final weapon (writing final weapon makes me really think ENT season 3 is written like a final fantasy game in space)
Strange that after 3 years am I getting multiple new comments over the course of a few days.
@@occultatumquaestio5226 i don't even notice that. Maybe people are binging ENT because it's leaving Netflix and now these vids are getting more views from it.
I wish Star Trek Online would've put more lore into the Xindi. I loved Enterprise as a kid.
Veritable Voth
i would love to see Voth video!
Yes do the voth
Voth please.
voth please
Space dinosaurs! :D
i'm kinda disappointed that the xindi avians went extinct, i wonder how would they have looked like.
There is only one picture of Them you van find it on memory Alpha star trek xindi avians
I’d love a story about them
They were only cut because of budget constraints.
Although I never liked the Xindi story arc, I always liked the designs of the different Xindi species, especially the reptilians.
Great video on Xindi Reptilians, a cool addition to Star Trek lore.
I'm voting for Voth for the next video.
And they were also seen in the movie "Galaxy Quest" LOL
Dolim and Sarris could almost be brothers. XD
Aquatics I remember were Rich, so maybe bankers.
Hydrogen One
More than likely, they were traders.
Spending so much time in tanks probably gave them lots of thinking and managerial time.
Doctor Proteus So, they had a think tank?☺
Can you do the aquatics next please?
Cybertronian/Autobots Can you do one of the Transformers?
I was wondering if you'd do The Shadows, Vorlons and the other First Ones of Babylon Five.
He could do the Napoleon people too. They were called centurion i think. Funny hair. Misterrrrrrrr Garaboldi (spelling is off, i know)

the wire things could also be portable heat device

I agree about a heating device. Functioning like a radiator
This is probably how the Kristang species would look like if 'Expeditionary Force' became a movie/series.
I can't tell if the warning under this video is funny or sad.
Our current era is one of ludicrous tragedy.
After watching your Xindi videos, I noticed you constantly failed to mention that they have orifices in their cheekbones, which is a very important feature because it suggests that they might be sensory pits akin to the snout of some snakes.
Do a cultrual index on the Jaffa or the Ancients from Stargate
the faraday cage armour could also have purpose as heating for individual members
"The Yuuzhan Vong" please.
Did anybody notice the UNLIMITED POWER! referance when he was talking about the larvae?
what happen to the xindi people? in star trek tv NG & DS9 never say anything about them?
Its almost as if they were invented for a show that aired after Next Generation and Deep Space 9, but was produced as a prequel.
They were mentioned now and then, just like the Breen. And strictly speaking, we haven't seen a Breen yet, either.
Can somebody remind me of the TNG-episodes, in which the Xindi were mentioned?
They were actually featured for the first time in Season 3 of "Enterprise". Also, the Breen are prominently featured in later seasons of DS9.
In Star Trek Online, they are shown as members of the Federation, though they have their own ambassadors for when a situation may benefit from their experience. A Xindi-Primate Ambassador shows up during the Dyson Sphere Conference.

4:19 Aquatics would probably be good philosophers and historians, since their underwater habitat probably allows them to live for quite a long time.
This might be different from what you are doing but could you do one for the Unas from Stargate?
Gonna say Voth.
Some recommendation for races to cover, including ones from settings you haven't touched before.
STAR TREK
Tholians, The Dominion
STAR WARS
Jedi, Sith(the religion), Mandalorians, Wookie
ENDLESS SPACE
Sophons, Horatio, Hissho
WARHAMMER 40,000
Orks, Eldar, Tau
GALACTIC CIVILIZATIONS
Drengin, Arcean
R.I.P 6 advanced civilizations on one planet, if it was earth the solar system would be gone, I always wonder how 6 managed to advance without busting each others balls and losing 3-4 in the process
I think the wires could also be a portable heat sources which is handy for a reptile
I Always thought the Things on their armor were heat pipes to keep them warm. They are cold bloded arent they.
SengirShowsU Just what I thought.
The guardian shown at 4:57 and the sphere following this image screams Borg at me. The guardian basically looks like a future borg queen and the sphere... the borg also have spherical vessels.

there is episode out
I love these videos.
God damn, Enterprise was full of real neat ideas that got completely fucking wasted.
Why haven’t you done a Cultural Index on the Ocampa and Telaxians?
i'm pretty sure the insectoids did the crust nuking
The insectoids always bugged me.
ha
I thought I heard one of the Xindi Arboreals say that the Xindi Avians (extinct) detonated those nukes, but now I'm not so sure now.
ohh, you might be right
ah " at the height of the Xindi Civil War, the Reptilians and Insectoids detonated large weapons beneath the eight largest seismic fissures of the planet. While five of the Xindi species escaped this destruction, the Xindi-Avians did not flee the planet and were wiped out." memory alpha
Sphere builders? I know they showed up briefly in STO but thats the only bit I know about them.
Is it bad that I think that Discovery’s Klingons look far more like the reptilian Xindi than the Klingons I know and love?
Locomotionlotion It's not bad, but sadly true.
They're Xindi-Reptilians who lost their scales.
Hah! This got the youtube fact check banner because youtube is stupid!
6:40 The Aquatics' cruiser looks like a recycled design for a 29c Starfleet Temporal Vessel.
Can you do a one on the xindi primate
FUCK I wish they expanded more on the xindi after enterprise. I need to know if they exist or if they're only a Riker fantasy.
Can you do the Andorian Vulcan war
I wonder what the Xindi are doing in the 24th century.
Who would win in a fight? These guys or the Gorn?
Sweet! First again! Oh my vote is for the Voth.
What explanation is there for all of the races that appear in “Star Trek Enterprise” that never appear in the series that take place many years after? Did they have no concern for continuity or just what makes sense?
Well, the Malurians go through a near-extinction event *during* TOS....
It's not a true contradiction; the ST universe is teaming with absurdly high numbers of alien civilizations (which are clearly rare in real life), so it's not unrealistic for them to go unmentioned at the expense of species (e.g., the Romulans) that ARE mentioned frequently. They don’t look as good as the Gorn.
Rick sounds depressed here 😂
Something like the elder things Yithians?
You spelled particle wrong at 6:28 with "partical beam weapons"
"Earth lizards" > shows a crocodilian and a snake, neither of which are lizard.
How about the Centauri from Babylon 5?
Sebastian Zalewski oh you moon faced assassin of joy. That would be great.
Voth please
Xindi primate?
Zentradi from SDF Macross (not Robotech).
What's the difference? Isn't it just the name of the dubbed version?
Cerean
Unlimited power lol
Voth
just curious.what chance xindi-reptilians have against Scarans ,from Farscape..i'll say, zero.
scarrans seem to have bigger more stable empire with guardians+wormhole waepon M;A;D probably
