Smart young lass to not only design this but to have the ingenuity and business acumen to have a RUclipsr review it is impressive if she is in fact in college still or a recent grad
You sold me my man. I am taking a trip to hawaii for some camping during a paintball event, and this is a life saver. I just bought the large one (with extra steel blanket) just in case the first dies out in 2 years or so. But mannnnn I've never seen such simplistic ingenuity before, and to be able to cook on it?! I can't wait to have it come in. Thank you!
@@Adventure-Outdoors thanks! I'm quite excited for it. After all this time of owning your folding fire, how well would you say it has held up? Has the original blanket you owned stayed strong?
Great looking product. Thanks for the review. I like that its still portable, but that the key elements are all fixed together, making it likely to outlast cheaper alternatives where parts may get lost. Also, the grill is a nice feature. Best thing for me is the fact it can be pegged down, meaning its not going to get knocked over. I'm wanting to buy it for campervan and motorbike touring, but can't find it anywhere. Anyone know where this is still for sale in the UK?
Hi, I'm not sure if the fire pit is still in production. It was a kick starter project a few years ago but the website seems to no longer exist. Although it seems to be available here -www.designnest.com/Project/382/Folding-Fire-BBQCampfire
I bought the Snow Peak (Luke the drifter) fire pit based on your review and it was great when we were camping in the summer in Scotland. Only downside is the weight so I think this one looks a viable alternative although it doesn't have the stand and legs and naturally is a bit less stable than the snow peak. But definitely an option for hiking. Thanks for the video and great review and love the channel thanks!
Cheers Paul, much appreciated! I think the SnowPeak will always be king of the heavy weight fire pits, but this one is definitely more suitable for hiking, canoeing etc. 👍
Nice bit of kit specially the carry bag im really pleased to see your subs are climbing steadily think i joined about the 800 mark always thought you deserved more on the quality of your vids alone good to see you getting the recognition at long last stay safe fella
Yeah that looks like a decent bit of kit. I was gifted one of the cheaper versions a couple weeks ago, the type you pick up for 20 quid on ebay and its ok but very flimsy. This looks like the real deal if you want to carry that kind if fire pit. Nice review 👌
Looks great, whilst I don't want to take anything away from it, there are very similar Ali express pits that are about £12 from the amazon. I have one for motorcycle camping and tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it worked a treat. Collapses to the size of a large big soup tin, has a metal mesh that doesn't let embers through. Not quite as big as that mind and doesn't have the grill feature but I did get my wolf grizzly grill on it and that worked for me. If you want one for your bike trips type "mesh fire pit" into that online shopping place and you'll see what I mean.
Yeah I've seen those, something a bit smaller than the folding fire would probably be enough for a bike trip. I usually just use my Firebox stove but it's too small really, might have a look at something like what you have 👍
My concerns would be with the fire being to high up off the ground. Should a strong wind come along, 1.) You'd get showered with hot sparks. 2.) Hot embers being picked up a littering other combustible stuff in the woods. If this product had a lower profile and you could do some digging to countersink it down into the ground with relative ease oh say 12" down into the ground, a higher degree of fire safety could be achieved! Other than that, the build quality seems to be all there. Thank You for sharing!
Hey mate, thanks for the videos , Really enjoying them. be keen to see a video on low impact wild camping. Ie what things we can do to reduce our environmental impact while camping.
Haha, mushy peas ' an English delicacy' They're bloody lovely though. Looks like it's a great fire pit! Maybe not for backpacking but a smaller, packable version would be great for the solo camper. Thanks for the review.
@@Adventure-Outdoors Ah, just clicked the link and soon there will be three sizes. The smaller one would be perfect for what i need on my own solo camps. Thanks again, happy camping!
Hi, I don't think it makes a difference in my experience so far. The steel mesh is more like a fabric and isn't very porous so I'd say its about as efficient (or inefficient!) as a ground fire 👍.
Thanks again, Ben, for the great review! It's a pleasure to see you enjoy the Folding Fire 🔥
No worries Margot, thanks for giving me the opportunity to review the Folding Fire 👍
Margot send me one to review please. I'll be kind ;-)
just ordered ours. Thanks Ben for the review : ) and Margot for what looks like a great fire pit. Can't wait to try it our with the kids : )

@@trikstar198 hi, yes the original blanket is still going, hardly worn at all 👍

I’m really liking this one it’s so simple
Getting getting off version of this one tomorrow been looking at them since watching your video. Still enjoying your videos
That's awesome - really wanted the Snow Peak one you had before but have been put off by the price ... this is much more appealing.
Yeah it would definetely make a good alternative to the snow peak 👍
brilliant bit of kit that. can see where they got the idea from. great review.
Cheers Nell 👍
Excellent review, seems a quality item, a worthy addition for the landy
I hope Folding Fire gets a U.S. distributor, and starts making medium and small sizes.

Amazon has your friends Firepit listed for a hundred dollars. Great design, too pricey. Nice to be proud of for a friend though
LOVE this mate. Game changer

What a great bit of kit 👍🏻...but the Mushy Peas did it for me... 🥇🏆😁All the best, Paul 🙏🏻
Cheers Paul, those peas were the greenest thing in the forest 😂👍
It would be nice, specialty if you could actually buy it some in the USA, I don't see available any where!
Hi Gary, the company is based in Belgium and as far as I'm aware they ship direct to the USA. Here's the link to their site - foldingfire.com
Wow! Where can I get one in the states? that is just what I need for camping 😁
Hi James, I'm pretty sure Folding Fire posts internationally, might be worth getting in touch with them to see shipping rates - foldingfire.com
This fire pit is grate, but this chair...
It looks gorgeous...
Its a FrontRunner Expander chair, folds down nice and small 👍
Have you got a link for this thanks
Yep, here it is 👍 - foldingfire.com
That's a great product! I've been looking at the Snow Peak portable fire pit, but I think I'll definitely be going with this one instead!
Given the choice I'd probably go with this one too 👍
Great video.Nice review !!
Great video mate!
Cheers mate! 👍
It looks like they went out of business. Website is dead. Can't find it elsewhere.
the steel mesh is so thin ! how long would it last if one were to use it several times a month?
perhaps 2 years??
Never mind the fire pit. What brand is that frying pan? I like it a lot.
It's a Finnish Wilderness Pan Martin, you can get one here 👍 - www.woodland-ways.co.uk/buy-online-finnish-wilderness-frying-pan-23cm-1191.html
@@Adventure-Outdoors thank you. I just placed an order. Hope it gets here soon!
Good review. How will the mesh hold up over do you think? Good simple idea. Needed a good ale to go with that fine dining though 👍😂
Mark Green Cheers Mark, I think the mesh should hold up, we’ll have to see! 👍
which size of fire pit do you have/use in this video? The medium or the large version? thx
Hi, it's the large 👍
Hello from Australia, this portable grill looks great. Do you think that it would work with heat beads also?
Hi Geoff, yes I think it can also be used with heat beads 👍
Do you think you go through more wood this way than a traditional fire on the ground?
Hi, I don't think it makes a difference in my experience so far. The steel mesh is more like a fabric and isn't very porous so I'd say its about as efficient (or inefficient!) as a ground fire 👍.
can you use coal instead of wood on this
Wow
Hahaa, first thumbs up. Really cool fire pit. Could be handy to the van. Liked your anorak! Which one is that?
Haha, cheers Mattias, would be perfect for the van! It's the Gutulia anorak, it's great, I think it's been discontinued for a few years now though 👍
How’s it holding up?
Yeah it's holding up well Jeff, I've used it frequently over the winter and it's still like new 👍
Is she still making these...the website is not functional.
£120 if anyone was wondering
The negative is it's 145 Euro delivered. Similar items granted not as good are £12 on eBay.
