- Welcome to Tunisia Star Wars fans! In this vlog, we visit the desert outside of Tozeur to one of the most famous Star Wars film sets, Mos Espa. This is where George Lucas and crew came to film Star Wars, the setting of planet Tatooine.
Mos Espa is in the desert, accessible by 4x4 across sand dunes and rock formations. Finally, we reach the setting of the spaceport from Star Wars: Episode I "The Phantom Menace" and Star Wars: Episode II "Attack of the Clones".

Fun fact: this place where stars wars was filmed called onq al jamal (عنق الجمل)which it means Camel's neck hhhh,and tatooine in real it's a governorate and a city in Tunisia and it called tataouine ❤️

Quite incredible they filmed in the 'blue milk' hovel in 1976 with Luke then filmed another scene in the same hovel for AOTC in 2001 with his father Anakin.

This one was only used for the prequels, hence why its mostly still there.
Yes and no. They build some sets for the OT and took them with them to the US after finishing. For the prequels they built them again and left them there. Also there are many real ancient houses that were used for star wars, kenobis house in a new hope for example is a fisherman house in the dessert

I was 9 years old when I saw A New Hope in the theater (1977). I have a lot of memories related to that film. As Christmas '77 rolled around there were so many toy commercials promoting their Star Wars' products; it was insane. One of the gifts I recieved that Christmas were the Star Wars sheets and pillow cases. Sounds corny but I wish that I still had them.
The films are so nostalgic and special!💫Hope you get a chance to see the film sets in Tunisia, it brought back so many memories!
@@RunTheAtlas As a matter of fact I did see Tunisia but not in a way you'd think. I served on 3 aircraft carriers while in the U.S. Navy. One of my journeys was in that part of the world. As we entered the Mediterranean Sea (via the Straits Of Gibraltar) Tunisia (borderlined with Morocco) was off our starboard (right) side ; -}

It is such a dream world - to see this film set of one of the most famous movies in history, right in the middle of the desolate landscape is incredible. Especially if you are a Star Wars fan!
No you wouldnt....i was there a week ago....everyone follows you and wanna have money from you....they also have animals they wanna give to you for pictures....poor animals....
Ronald Tauchner I went yesterday the people had chained up fennec foxes and force you to hold them to take a photo with them then ask for money the foxes want to be free it’s all a wreck now some of the set is broken

We stayed at Diar Abou Habibi in the Tozeur oasis - very atmospheric experience. I hope you get a chance to see Tunisia!
