11:30 This is precisely why EDMs, rap, etc took soo long to get popular in India. Even today, only a select few of the young gens are into those modern means of music. Irrespective of the generations once a child reaches their 20s they get drawn towards such vocals. I am not a very frequent listener of Bollywood music(not saying the singers are bad) as 90% of them are love songs and i don't enjoy listening to love songs a lot of times(depends on mood), so I prefer western pop for the most part. But the nights where i am feeling restless, i need a warm hug or just want to create a cozy atmosphere as i do my morning chores, i always play my spotify playlist composed of soo many beautiful bollywood voices.
Honestly i startwdi started listening music late when i was about 14-15 on tv and now i am a music lover bt i never loved any music other than indians or indian subcontinent..yried listening englihs songs some are nice bt still I don't listen to them in free time..only indians music is able to lift my mood or change mood.. emotion wise our music is the best..its not about technicality bt emotions and vibe..and we excel in it
@@jyotitiwari4298 i remember listening to music as far as i can remember. First on tv. Then on a very old boxy mobile phone, where i wouls get songs via bluetooth and those sharing apps from my cousins..and listen to those 3-4 songs on repeat or fm radio. I started listening to western songs like late in school around 8th or 9th grade. By this point i was disappointed that bollywood music juat cannot seem to get out of their "love song genres". It was either another soft love song or an item number. So i found western music fresh at that time. This has stayed true till now. Perhaps because i listen to music pretty much all day as i work and stuff. I dont always want something super meaningful playing for most times as it gets boring. So i listen to some of my english playlists(no disrespect to western artists) for the most part. As i can just vibe to the music more. I switch to bollywood when i need more peace, like early morning hours or late night Ps when i say bollywood i mean voices like monali thakur, mohit chauhan or even some classical instrumentals and stuff(i am not a fan of bollywood filmy and item genre).
"Sukoon," an album by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is a masterpiece that stands out for its soulful and melodious compositions. Unlike many contemporary albums, it doesn’t rely on flashy or upbeat "boom boom boom" tracks. Instead, it offers a serene and calming experience, living up to its name, which means "peace." The music is rich, layered, and deeply emotional, showcasing Bhansali's signature style of combining classical influences with modern sensibilities. This album is perfect for those who appreciate music that soothes the soul and evokes deep emotions.
4:25 For Indian Singers especially as they are majorly trained in classical music this Acapella is actually nothing for them due to the skills they have. Because just singing naturally is a part of our daily lives, at homes while worshipping or praying there are worship songs, bhajans, shlok, etc ; if it is a festival then song music is obvious, if you go to our temples- again priests singing bhajans or chanting prayers in rhythms etc is like a requisite and if there is any festival/ puja/ occasion the devotees priests temple management members all sing together in proper rhythms notes etc irrespective of sometimes there are instruments sometimes not. To understand all this, i mean how natural organic all this is for us, you need to experience or see it with your own eyes.
We expect even our mohalla singers to be able to sing well without instrument. Their range may or may not be on par with some Sonu or Shreya but they would have some songs they can sing perfectly. It's kind of funny that it's not norm elsewhere.
4:53 absolutely, it’s expected that you know your craft and do Riyaz (practice) hence singers are always prepared to sing just like that. Also once they sing spontaneously like that it is a badge of honour for them as well Love these analytical videos! Also for Roop Kumar Rathod you can check out Saiyyan from Agneepath
Back in 2009 a show aired on Star Plus where there were six judges/mentors (Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, Himesh Reshammiya & Mika Singh) because I was supporting team Shaan ( I was 9 years old) and had little sense of music (although Shaan is one of the greats and legends of the music regardless) I used to hate Mohit Chauhan.... and 2 years later boom there I was completely in love with his voice when rockstar came... He's easily in my top 5 artists... a true legend of music❤
I think people love both style of singer's , classical music is really well received but in party's and club's to dance people want boom boom music. That's what reality is and we cannot change that
i have actually seen the barso re part so many times. this was part of a campaign by sony india back in 2013 called project resound where shreya ghoshal and Kailash Kher came together for the first time to compose a song to promote purity of sound for sony's new headphones, and upgrade your ears was the tagline. the song is called Naina chaar, and its composed and written by Kailash Kher himself as a duet between Kailash and shreya. i highly reckommend you guys to check that song out. also, i am thrilled to see Kailash Kher in the video two times, one with shreya ( where she sings barso re ) and one alone. so happy you guys know who my idol is. hopefully when i become a playback singer, you guys might react to my songs in the future. hello from an iranian woman in Sweden.
