And all the 50-something ladies dancing around their living rooms right now....
MEEEEEEEE!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA
I was thinking the same thing LOL
And a soon to be 40yo lady! These guys have taken me back to in utero, and my mom who's almost 70 is having a blast seeing her whole life in music through new eyes. We all are I think. Keep dancing Beth!
Or 47 year old women, like me. Takes me back to junior high school dances.
Absolutely! ahahah!!
I can’t stop watching these two even though they make feel old AF. How have they never heard of some of these people? 😂😂
these young men make me feel old but i am glad that they have found out about the different songs :)
Me too!!! I’m hooked
I’m also hooked. Not sure what it is that feels so good about watching these young men experience the music of my youth for the first time, but it’s addictive!
Exactly. I was in junior high when this song came out. I remember being shocked by the lyrics, and now we have WAP by Cardi B and Megan the Stallion. Time really flies.
I'm not that old (30) but thought the same, lots of these songs are in classic movies and TV shows. But then I realised that I successfully avoid lots of new releases by not watching TV or listening to the radio so it is possible if you are determined 😆
This song was the WAP of our generation.
Ha! And so controversial back then, right??
Dead
😅😅😅
Yes!
😂😂😂😂
Salt N Pepa were ground breaking back in the late 80's and early 90's, they were the first female rap/hip hop group to hit gold and platinum status, the first (along with Queen Latifah) to win a Grammy, and they're still one of the highest selling rap artists of all time. They influenced fashion in a huge way, and they were not afraid to say what was on their mind in their songs. "Let's Talk About Sex" was not what you heard from anyone back then, but it was important, and started conversations about safe sex that people really needed to be having.
And at 48, its STILL hard to sit still when this song comes on.
And don't forget about Spinderella she was one hell of a DJ.
I JUST saw them live with New Kids on The Block, Naughty By Nature, Debbie Gibson, and Tiffany summer of 2019. They all recorded 2 songs together. It was PHENOMENAL. They still got it. They were groundbreaking and I wish they got more credit for what they did.
It blew my mind to find out in ʻGood Hairʻ that her short side on this video was due to a chemical mishap. She rocked it so hard it became iconic in itself.
@@kirengelhardt3707 yes I just heard about this tonight
@@Toobeegort lol that makes the meme tinderella come to mind heheehe ykwis
This song was so subversive when it came out. To hear women talking unapologetically talking about wanting sex and taking control of their sexuality was unheard of.
yep, for real. shit, now its not uncommon to see pre teems talking about it..
@@Listens2Spirits That's not a good thing... 🙈
I remember having to hide this song from my parents, couldn't listen to it on a stereo had to be in a walkman so they didn't hear. Shoop is their best song to me though.
Madonna too! All these gals stuck it to them. It was GOLD!!!!!
@@Spetia Oh no! You should have come to my house. My parents are music fans so they let us listen to it all!!!
This song is probably why at 53 my back is messed up!! 😂 we tore that dance floor up!!!
@twinsmom0409 You got that right! I loved this song. So fun to dance to.
Definitely!!
just wait til they discover Neneh Cherry, miritte?
😀😆
🥳🥳🥳🥳
Jesus Christ .. the moment i realized i was old 😂🤣 .. didn't even occur to me that there's a generation that does not know Salt-N-Pepa !!
OMG! Gag me with a spoon traveler *tongue smack* Now I'm like *disgusted sigh* totally depressed *eyeroll*
So fellas, the next time you talk to someone in their late 60s, remember we were cool too! Lol
the guys shared on Kelly Clarkson show that they grew up in a religious home. So only heard Christian music. Now that they older and COVID had them homebound they can explore.
I mean, I could write that off. This song is pretty old, after all, and it isn't played on the radio much anymore. It's more that they didn't know Outkast or The Black Eyed Peas and didn't know Dre was a rapper that made me feel old af.
Me too😬
They don't make me feel old, they make me feel blessed to have grown up at a time that music was fire! I have such a huge catalogue of music over decades. It's nice to be reminded that there is a lot to be grateful for.
I agree!
Totally agree
Exaaaaactly.
Word
AGREED!
I like the way the 2 boys show their innocence why they say that this would be a good "workout" song.
Awwwhahahahaha!!!!! Truth
These two young men are a
WELCOME BREATH OF FRESH AIR!
Thought the same thing, this is not about working out lol
“Wooooooooorkinitout” 🤣😝😛😁
Lol... NO KIDDING! My entire 90’s gym experience was this, C&C Music Factory, and Arrested Development’s “Tennessee” (for the sit-ups and squats at the end of literally EVERY class).
This is one song that will turn EVERY suburban mom into a college age dance freak LOL #banging
Facts!
Lol so true
🤣🤣
OK sexy mama keep pushing it good. Keep pushing it real good.
So true😂
"this song ain't for everyone, just the sexy people" LoL great memories
"Sexy People " yes !
Sure nuff‼️
Exactly haha
"A good workout song." I love their innocence. Because we ol' heads know what this song is really about lol
Well their not wrong hahaha
Technically, also a workout...
No joke. This song was loved by EVERYONE!
Can confirm.
It was a huge thing for sure!
Yes!
Yup
Except my friend's prude, stuffy, uber-Christian parents. Lol. She got scared when it came on the radio over at my house. She tried to turn it down and I got annoyed & turnt it back up. She was shocked, like "won't you get in trouble with your parents?" I just laughed at her. Like "your parents need to chill!" 🤣
Salt N Pepa: Whatta Man. Featuring EnVogue.
Classic!
Yessss
Love that song! ❤️
Lol, I want this so bad!
Calamity Natalie
I hear ya!
yes me and my sis were trying memorize every lyric
Omg, our cheerleaders got suspended back in the day for doing a routine to this song. 😝 I love it.
The Ginger Gyrl455 metal
That’s amazing.
This was my kids potty training song! LMAO 😂
@@clicker7019 I’m dead!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😆 Our team was in trouble for doing a routine to Prince Lets Pretend We're Married... Parents didn't much appreciate it either
This was considered explicit back in the day. Lol
After all these years, my 65 year old mom will still drop what she’s doing and start dancing when this song comes on 😂
Your mom sounds awesome
Right on mom!!
Go mom!!
Yas Queen 👑
I would as well and I'm 52. This song came out in my heydays
This song I swear was played every night for years in the clubs
Yep. It always had everyone dancing
Would you react to Marvin Gaye's what's going on, or sexual healing
And we’d all leave the circle when mambo #5 came on...
Fantastic song
Oh yeah remember dancing to this at all the clubs.
Before Destiny's Child, before TLC it was Salt N Pepa! God I love their music and whenever "Shoop" comes on the radio, I'm singing along, still knowing it off by heart.
4:20 “ain’t many songs like this”...nope not in today’s music but back in the day All The music was like this. Plenty of songs w energy like this that make you want to get up and dance. Songs that you just can’t sit still when they come on.
70s, 80s, 90s music was like no other. Pick any genre during those decades and it was all hot. Glad I lived during those times.
The new millennium came along w it’s own sound of music that was good for about a decade. To me it’s never been the same. Only a handful of songs are worth being on my playlist after about 2010. Just my opinion though
Autotune killed any hope of good music. Now it all sounds the same.
And let's not forget to give love to Spinderella spinning her face off.
“Spinderella one time!”
Spinderealla has never gotten the love she deserves!
So many. Its hard to get into the industry. Those that make it MAKE it.
@@MandiCollins So true!
Give it up for "SPINDERELLA"👆
TRUE JAM...SHE WAS BAD....SALT & PEPA WAS ON IT..90"S SPECIALITY💓
VIBRANT LUV ❣️ 🇯🇲
I was a aerobics instructor during the late 80s. This was one of my favorite songs to get ppl up and jumping!
Tamara Terrill Love that! I would love to see your outfits. I just attended classes, but those instructors dressed bomb!!
Loved the 80’s and definitely was doing aerobics as a teen.
Dear TWINS, you two are theTWO FAVORITES OF MY LIFE, please play TEARS FOR FEARS, with THE song “EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD”; this grandma requests it! 😽❤️😻
One of my top 100s!! ❤️❤️
We had two decades full of beats like this. Welcome to the 80's and 90's boys! It's hilarious to think that these women are now about the same age as your mom if not older.
Spinderella is absolutely underrated as a DJ.
Seriously. There's never any mention of her.
Black Fawn I think they had a falling out and she never gets mentioned now.
did she "write" the hook? the high noodley part? one of the absolute greatest hooks in pop music ever.
YESSSSS she is! Baddest female dj EVER
Fact.
My sister wouldn’t let me play this when she was in labor. A lost opportunity.
😆😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣
😂🍼
Hahahahahahahaha! It was on my labor and delivery playlist! 😂
One drunken karaoke night, my friend and I decide to sing this song together randomly at a place we visited almost weekly, forgetting that there's not many lyrics. During the musical parts we didn't know what to do so we started dancing and encouraging others. Next thing we new, the entire bar was dancing in the area in front of the stage, even after we finished the song, and the next person came up, the dancing was still going on. It became a weird mixture of dancing and karaoke and it was one of the funnest karaoke nights I ever had. Honestly I have no idea why a Karaoke bar would have a song with such little singing, but I couldn't argue with the results.
Do "It Takes 2" by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock
They did it! Watch, it was so cute!
Another fave!!!
This was one of the earlier videos!
If ya wanna get your aunties up and movin, this is the one! Much love! 😃🤘🏼
That and "She's a Bad Mamma Jammu" by Carl Carlton!
I'm a 66 yr old grandma and I still work out to this!!!
“Workout Song”? I can assure you, when this came out, it was not considered a “workout song”. Lol
LMAO
Well. Cardio. Haha
Nah. Its a work out 😜
Bedroom Olympics!
Well it makes up get up and dance and dancing is cardio so I anit mad at the comment 😂
This jam never gets old. It was gr was great growing up in the late 80's and '90's
When they were saying "Push it Good, Push it real Good". a friend of mine at the time thought they were saying "Pu**y good, Pu**y real Good".
Ha Ha
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yall were too damn grown!
Noooooooo lol
Lol😂
Lol
I want to see Run DMC and Aerosmith "Walk This Way."
We had the Aerosmith version on vinyl. When you play it backwards, it says “It’s fun to smoke marijuana, it’s fun to get high....eh!” No joke
YESSSSS
Yesssss!!!
Totally agree !!
@@lindsayr6208 No way! Haha
“Can’t you hear the music pumpin hard like I wish you would now push it”
All ladies felt that lol.
I feel so old tho. It’s hard to believe there are people who don’t know this song lol.
I was 18 when this was popular. Still turn it up! 51 and still loving it
Thanks for covering this one. Salt-N-Pepa are trailblazers and I still consider them one of the most important music groups ever.
This reaction is basically like 2 boys in their late teens or 20's, in the year 2020, watching a video of their moms when their moms were at their age today in the late 1980's. :)
True. So true.
What’s wrong w that?
Lol....I'm the Mom who intro's my kids to music from when I was their age. My kid's have some interesting music tastes now.
Our son is 21, the music I grew up with was from the late 60's but mostly the 70's and 80's. He has a huge playlist of just the music of my generation, so proud I could share that with him, and he really digs it!
and it is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved these two ladies. They were so sassy. And who can sit still when this song is playing. I'm a 71 year old white grandma but I love these two ladies.
And my 47 year old daughter from that era loves it too.
Hey same here! My ma is 74 and I'm 44. We are from Minneapolis, Norfside reppin' we still jam to this!!!
In case you guys were wondering that fly female on the ones and twos is “Spinderella” essential part to Salt n Pepper 😍👑
Love that you guys are open to and appreciate all different types of music you're not familiar with. It's a great way to certainly develop a real appreciation for music and artists. Peace!
"Workout Song" Yes yes it is a Workout Song. just a different workout. lol
Definitely a very different kinda workout song!!!! Ha! Ha! lol
🤣
😂
I love these young men 💕 So sweet
a good workout song that burned many a cal,s :,)
Salt n Pepa...What a Man
What a mighty mighty fine man! 🕺
Yasssss this!
alamedadanceparty My man is smooth like Barry, and his voice got bass
A body like Arnold with a Denzel face...
@@MiscreantRose He dresses like a dapper don, but even in jeans
He's a God sent original, the man of my dreams
I still listen to What a Man! On the workout mix
You are right! This song was all about the beat! It was 1986 and this beat was so new and fresh! It still slaps!
You two never make me feel " old." This is the music that has kept is young. So many songs we just danced to and had a blast as a generation together.
It is physically impossible to keep your body still when this comes on - and the volume needs to go right up!
They wrote that song in 30 seconds. No chorus. lol But we danced to it.
Classic. What I would give to hear some of these songs for the first time again. These reviews are amazing.
👮👮👮👮💪 *Where my 99 squad at? Captain Holt and Terry dancing to this for Amy in labor.* 😂😂😂😂
Whenever the DJ dropped this...we ALL got up on that dance floor...that hip thrusting..OW!!
Boggles my mind that there are "adults" younger than this song! hahaha!
They look like kids to me. 😏 They definitely don't look 21.
I was probably half their age, when I first heard this 😂.
For real
This was my jam when it came out and I can still get down with this
I luv how you both respect music before ur time u both are Awesome
That song was such a HUGE dance floor hit when it first dropped, that our club's DJ bought TWO 12" singles so he could mix it into itself and play it TWICE IN A ROW. The crowd SCREAMED in delight and kept dancing!
James Brown "I Feel Good" because you just HAVE to!!!!!!!!
My kids laugh at me cause I love to turn that song up really loud and put my make-up on. My kids are in their late twenties and I am 60 😊
YESSS sis. Hear ya. 52 here THIS was the song then! We were so fast we used to say something else LOL 😂
Please react to Morris Day and the Time "Jungle Love".
OMG Yes!!!!!
Man, do I love Morris Day!
Great call!
OMG THIS PLEASE. Yes!
Hell yeah!
“Only the sexy people”... Bwaaahaha sooo many fun memories!
I'm so happy the one with short hair laughed a couple times! He got the words!! 😅😄😃🤣
Shoop is my favorite Salt N Peppa tune but Let's Talk About Sex was ground breaking.
Need to listen to some En Vogue: free your mind, never gonna get it or giving him something he can feel-loved this whole era
"FREE YOUR MIND" Best message ever!!!♡
YEEEEESSSSS those are awesome choices!!
Anything 90's
En Vouge is a great chouce.
YES
This. Song. Was. Theee shi% back in 88-89! We all would lose our minds & run on the dance floor!💖Love watching you two soo much!
omgs that backward touch the ground dance thing was rave in high school....
With a few more hip thrusts where I grew up.
So true, I'm a 55 year old white woman that can't sit still and has to SLIDE when it comes on!!
Yassss girl get your dance on 💃🏻💜💃🏻
Post video
YESSSS!! 47 year old here. I'll never forget once, when my kids were teenagers, this came on and I started dancing like i was in the bars when I was 19 (in Canada lol). THEY ALMOST DIED. LMAO.
YES KIDS...MOMMA USED TO DANCE LIKE A BAD ASS.
Same age here and I remember this song
Michel'le You just bought back my Canadian bar memories. So fun! 19 years old and running to the border. 🤣
Every woman over 40 listens to this on the stair master 😂
literally last friday
Lol yep
Oh yeah
My days jumping up and down in clubs. I'm 56 years old and I'm enjoying the music.
Every workout.
Awww, that Salt-n-Pepa hair style! Before Weaves, Black Queens, shaved one side of their kool heads, and sashayed with those Big "Round the Way Girl" earrings!
Thanks for bringing back Good Memories, Twins.
We had No Fear, then, when Black Music Groups were Flourishing!!!
What Happened?
OMG! This was my jam back in the day! I feel so old but I’m dancing around my living room.
There's no school like old school. Old school hip hop was everything. They have other great ones too. Also react to Neneh Cherie (sp?) Buffalo Stance. More great OS hip hop.
Yesss- for sure!
Loved that woman!!! Great songs!
A! MEN! Love that old school
These guys need some Queen Latifah in their lives as well. I'd love to hear some more Salt N Pepa tho. They were pretty much hip hop royalty back then too. So many good songs. I'm also seeing a lot of requests for En Vogue and I support that 300%.
Yes buffalo stance!!!
This brings me back to middle school dances.
The Kiosk yes! Nothing like banging songs where everyone is dressed awkwardly and standing on the sidelines.
That's what I was thinking! This was always played in the last half-hour of our middle school dances, I swear. By then, all the girls were dancing with each other (having given up on the awkward boys) and it was just rowdy fun. I'll admit I still shake it when this song comes on because it's so much fun.
Absolutely!
Jealous, it was at least half boys 2 men for me
Yes! Loved this at school dances! And at the local roller skating rink on a Friday night.
I will admit it has been warming my heart to see you guys exploring the music that lots of us grew up with - ah the nostalgia XD
This song was so popular it was played at all my family weddings, holidays, and cookouts.. On the radio it was played right along with rock music..
Also.. this riff was always the most popular to play on keyboard.
Man, the memories! I was 12 when this came out (I'm 46 now). I remember my friend and I singing this at the top of our lungs, two white girls in the back of my parents' Cadillac, driving them insane! LOL! We had absolutely no idea what the song was about, but it was sure fun to sing! LOL!
This song came out in 1988!
I saw Salt n Pepa live just 5 years ago and they were slamming! Check out “Shoop” and “ What a man”!
OOOH! YEAH, SHOOP!
I saw them 3 years ago in Australia and their performance was fantastic, they looked incredible as well, not their age at all
Shoop still lives in my playlists
Don't forget "Let's talk about Sex"
Yes, Shoop! And Whatta Man!
The Jam! Spindarella is thier DJ.
I cant stop moving! The best. Not one curse in this song. Ahhh the good ole days! You boys keep doing what you're doing. Great videos.
Possibly the best named album ever: A Salt with a Deadly Pepa
"Pump up the Jam" by Technotronic featuring Felly. You gotta review that one too.
YES!!!!
My dad is a musician and he HATED when I’d play that song in the car 😂🤣
Yes please!!!
Yesss - total banger
Yesssss!!!!
This song never gets old!! 💃💃💃
Much respect to you two young men for showing these Original Queens of Rap love!
Reading the comments I think I can tell who of us are in our late 30s maybe some early 40s. lol
Yup
Can't believe it's already my turn to be "the old fart" !! :(
Or late 40s. i was a junior in high school when this song came out!
52 here! 🙋♀️
@@melanienelson1148 same here. 46.
Heeey!!! Let's party!!! This was the song back in the day with TLC and others.
They need to react to the Entire Crazy Sexy Cool Album, I swear!!! The whole album! (Every track hehe)
@@SparkleP8nter I wore that CD out back in the day.
TLC wasn't the same time as this song. I'm pretty sure this was 87. They came out in 92.
Salt N Pepper were in the 80's, TLC were early 90's.
At age 50 I can still do the dance in my head.
"Workout song" working something out alright.
Worrrrkin up a sweat
I got to meet and serve Salt N Peppa last year when they stayed at the hotel restaurant I work at in Nashville. They were super cool! They still putting on shows!
I LOVE them!
Push it was epic in the day!!!
I remember hearing it when I was like 6, and I even liked it then
theknightswhosay yes, it was just something so different. They played it at junior high school dances for awhile until one of the teachers figured out it wasn’t appropriate 🤣
You guys are my favorite thing on RUclips. Almost ALL of the songs you do were popular when I was growing up so it’s fun watching you hear them for the first time. This one in particular I had on CASSETTE, lol, I love it. I send your videos to everybody I know.
I have watched you both growing up and I absolutely! Love your first reactions and appreciation for all kinds of music! Love you both!!
Back in 80's this song will be heard in every clubs back then..
I used to skate to this song in the 80’s and saw them perform at Woodstock 94🔥
I'm in love with y'all now. Keep showing more please😍😍
Y’all need to get into some “Ready for the world” fellas
You have to react to Cameo 'Word Up' oh that is a reaaaaal classic!
Push it is one of my favourite songs ever!
React to “Free Your Mind” by EnVogue!
Oh yes en vogue ❤
YES!!!!
I f'n love En Vogue!! They some bad ass chicks!✌🏽
Marc Acosta That song should be the anthem of this year!!!!!!!!
I still live my life to that song!
i love that you are always trying the dance moves!!!! these dances are so iconic!!
I was 4 when this was big, and my cousin was 10 years older (who introduced me to Salt N Pepa and Madonna). I had no idea what this song was about until much later, and that was for the best 😂. Definitely a roller skating rink number!
Fugees - Ready or Not, Killing Me Softly. You'll love them x
It would be interesting if they did a comparison of the Fugees version & the Roberta Flack version of Killing Me Softly.
Fugee La
Rob bass it takes two
I think there are better original Fugee's songs. IMHO
I challenge everyone in this thread to check out Killing Me Softly all 5 versions: Lori Lieberman (original in folk), Roberta Flack (most famous in classic R&B), Perry Como (crooner), Anne Murray (country), and then The Fugees (contemporary R&B). Each version brings out different nuances of the song.
Totally impossible to stay still when this song is playing. One of my all time faves. ❤🖤❤
You guys Rock!!! Bringin Back such Great Memories!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💥💥💥💥❤️
63 here and still remember dancing in the clubs to this song! 🥰😂😅 GOOD TIMES!
If you haven’t already, Arrested Developments’ Mr. Wendell.
Also Tennessee
This is one of my favourite songs. I have it on cassette tape some where ✨
I was 14 when this was released and to see these three talented, gorgeous , confident women up there was just amazing. Love this as much now as when I first heard it. ❤️
That song takes me back! Thank you guys for doing that reaction! It was a hot song when it came out, and the '90s, still hot today!
Just the first note and the dance floor was filled! 😂
