  • Last year we went out to community consultation on whether several zones within the City of Burnside should become 40 km/h speed limit areas, down from the pre-existing 50 km/h speed limits. Of the six areas proposed, five areas were successfully voted for by the community to become 40 km/h zones.
Following this process, we worked with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport to implement this speed limit change, with the following areas approved to become 40 km/h zones:
    • Rose Park, Dulwich and Toorak Gardens
    • Beulah Park and Kensington Park (part - north of The Parade)
    • Frewville, Glenunga and Glen Osmond (part)
    • Kensington Park (part - south of The Parade)
    • Kensington Gardens (part) and Magill (part - west of Penfold Road)
    • Magill (part - east of Penfold Road).
The City of Burnside will begin to install 40 km/h speed signs this week, beginning with the Dulwich area. Please note the implementation of these new signs will take several weeks, with completed installation expected by June 2024. Temporary ‘Speed Limit Changed’ signs will also be in place in the affected areas.
