This poor Anky knife refused to let you hate it no matter how badly you treated it. 😄

Mine broke... I'm waiting on Vosteed to ship me back a new one. I was a Kickstarter donator so i got the Elmax version and the shaft/axle that the pivot and the button for the lock use broke right under the button head in the pivot. Never carried it, never really did much of anything with it, just a cool shelf piece around the house. I still love Vosteed and I have no regrets buying the knife.

I bought one after seeing this video. I wanted an EMP EDC Nymble really bad, but this is a similar knife for half the price with a cool locking mechanism. I wanted a knife with a four way opening

looks like a great work knife- that l-max seems amazing

Vosteed hedgehog has one less deployment and it works really well. I think it mostly comes down to trying to do front and rear flipper. Both seem to require different detents. Or I’m fos

Actually pretty damn impressive. Not a fan of the button, or its placement, even though the lock seems strong enough, but otherwise seems like a pretty good beater.

Great video. Never had to go that hardcore with a folder, but excellent entertainment value.

THE DETENT IS PERFECT. MULTIPLE OPENING METHODS ARE META AF. JUST KEEP IN MIND ALL HIS CRITIQUES ARE ONLY HIS OPINIONS. THANKS FOR THE AWESOME "DESTRUCTION" TEST! Gg 😎✌️

I don't know if you have all the knives, but it would be cool to have a show down cut test with the top 3-5 cutters so far.

Hey doody. Im currently trying to decide between a Kershaw Bel Air, Ankylo (because the elmax one is on sale), and a civivi vision. Im already aware you weren't pleased with the visions performance but how does the lock stack up vs the other two? Im not sure if you covered the bel air in any of your videos yet.

The vision has a fun strong lock. I liked it, just didn’t like the knife itself

@@doodysdaggers thanks. i really appreciate your content by the way. there are a lot of knife channels out there but not many that spend the time putting the knives through such thorough cut tests

Love that blade shape. And I am so impressed with modern blade steel's. Sheep feet are back baby. Cool video🙏👊

Edge retention and wear resistance is to he expected for a high carbide steel. And that tip test hurt to watch lmao

I kind of wish they offered this in a cross bar lock. That pinch grip regrip would be something to get used to. Great review, definetly a promising design by vosteed

No one puts pressure on the top of a blade in use that would close it in the handle, so there really is not much need for a lock to be able to hang a car engine to keep from closing. Normal use prevents closing that way.
All these locks are a solution to a problem that didn't exist, just for PR and price increase and 'bragging rights'.
A knife that would benefit from a good lock is one that you go around stabbing people with. A stabber needs a good lock.
How many of you Walter Mittys go about stabbing people with folding knives? Why do you think that the traditional stiletto locks are barely functional?
Want a test that has some value, take your knife, open it, lay it FLAT on a table with the blade extending over the edge of the table.
Clamp the handle and add progressive weight on the blade!
Most use requires lateral pressure, from carving to sharpening to prying.
Lets see what this test says about the 'tanks' out there. Do they still stack up? Will the steel break before the joint?
Lets get some real test numbers that aren't blowing smoke! ;)

    • @doodysdaggers
      @doodysdaggers  4 дня назад

In that case I’d guess the blade would break almost every time before the pivot
