Hell, 20 years ago, I was healing Molten Core on a feral druid. Had to heal to get in, but tanked 5man dungeons. No one cared. We cleared most content in OG Vanilla. We had fun. That's how it should be.
Thanks for the clarity, I didn’t know that they upped the +5 rewards. I think mid-heroic raid level gear is plenty for delves, because in my opinion that’s where the “average” player taps out in terms of difficulty anyway if they were raiding. At first I was like “just +5???”, but yeh this seems like a good rewards structure with the change. I rarely went past +15 in mythic+ because the rewards were barely better, but the difficulty was massively increased. Not to mention you can probably upgrade the gear further with the upgrade system.
Best PvE experience: Gladiators arena or whatever it was called where you had the solo boss fights in MOP and everyone was in a que and could watch etc. THAT was a blast & a challenge.
Why don’t they make some sort of universal game currency you get from all different types of content. 1. Delve completion gives you 10 war seals. 2. PvP BG win gives you 20 and participation gives you 5. 3. Mythic + dungeons the higher key you go, you get more war seals from the completion. 4. Dungeons 10 war seals for completion. All the war seals you get you can purchase necessary crafting pieces to produce the best gear or upgrade your gear to a better piece. Universal Currency in the game, call it whatever you want. But that would solve so many issues. Like literally all of them, make them account bound, spend them on cosmetics, spend them on upgraded gear. Maybe have there be a max so you are required to spend them and you can’t really horde them, similar to honor.
Theirs a big portion of us that want difficult scaling replayable solo content that is just as rewarding as M+ or Raiding. It’s kind of annoying when high level players think solo players only want to do world quests and stuff. Delves is a good step in the right direction but the decision to cap the gear level at heroic because they don’t want the top 10% to feel forced into it is getting pretty boring.
@@fwam2k7 if your gear is capped for the content you play and you have no interest in doing group content, why does the solo content have to have the same ilvl as the group content? You’ll already be BiS for your content.
The problem what always were in WoW that your build needs a certain amount of stats or a proc from a trinket/ring. To get these items you NEED to go to do certain raid bosses, or certain dungeons or craft a certain item with a profession... What they should do instead, that the drops and rewards are blank items with item level and stamina only, then you are able to decide what main and secondary stat you want to put on those items and have a way in the game to be able to modify those stats up and down or completely replace it with something else.
About the one shot mechanics... I think having a life system like platformer games could be a cool solution. As you do mistakes in the mechanic you get damage taken increase from that mechanic to a point that if you fail it 3 times you get one shot.
As a solo player most of the time, I'm okay with not getting the best gear when playing solo, but I should able to get close. The min/maxers can do their thing and sink their massive hours into it and still be rewarded, but if you truly want it to appeal to the largest audience, you need to make it reasonably rewarding for the non hardcore players as well. The question is, what is the tipping point?
concerning delves and fine line of making the rewards rewarding enough but not a mandatory thing you have to do, i have a stupid idea that just came to me that surely has massive downsides i cant see atm... maybe some of you guys can tell me what im not thinking of. but in my head, it sounds like changing up the vault system in the following way would totally solve this issue: - you dont unlock slots in specific rows depending on what content you do, but you get, lets call them "vault points" - higher delves, raid difficulties and m+ reward more points - there is a weekly cap on points you can get - the total amount of slots you get in the vault depends on the amount of points at the end of the week - the game also tracks what kind of content you do how much (so if you do 2 delves and 3 m+, 2/5 of the slots (rounded) will be delve gear and 3/5 will be m+ gear) - you can continue doing m+, delves and raids after reaching cap of course and will get gear for them at the end but you wont get any additional points (same as now) that way it does not matter at all what content you do to fill your vault, but it matters to what your vault will be filled with.... seems like a logical and easy solution, so it cant be that easy, right? what am i missing guys?
I think this is mostly because of the new expansion having a spider themed zone and when you're a business you wanna cater to the biggest amount of people When you confuse or make people question if they wanna play / purchase / interact with something that could end as a missed sale, So just having that small arachnophobia option will help them keep those customers, that's just what I think as I work in marketing and can see this happening fo the reason I mentioned

You playing at that 20 without addons is the exact same experience as you playing that 20 when no one has addons. People dont know what your ui looks like. If anything you playing without addons but others having addons still is on average a better experience than no one having addons--because you get the benefits you want of no addons, but still benefit from your team having addons.

nt little video. 1 thing that rly came to my mind towards the 2nd half, when the meta gameplay in wow got topic with sub topics like streamers, forum posts etc., was that, what if the game will get a bit less transparent in terms of...it won't be that easy for players to copy 1 specific talent tree e.g. because the best players of that class/spec are using it. Reminds me a bit ofc tbc and wrath times, in early wow eras but also in classic wow, where u actually need to THINK a bit about gearing your character and setting up the right talent tree.

I’d be really happy if I could just progress through delves for my retail fix. Because of the seasonal model I have ZERO interest in getting back into committed raid times to get the best gear to just reset every three months. Alternatively, stop gear completely and make EVERYTHING cosmetic.
Not going to get into the addon take, but with delves compared to m+ the keys this season and moving forward are 10 key levels lower. So a 5 is like a 15 and it wasn’t so long ago 15s gave the best look like in SL s1 etc so I think delve gear will be good especially to the “casual” player base. Doing 8s first week of s4 isn’t easy and a tiny amount below that (+5 equivalent) I think is a good starting point for them
Nothing will change and I'm not sure they can do anything about the healer situation, because it's mostly a community thing. Can a DPS take a 3 seconds break for a mechanic? Sure. Will they? Sure if they're guildies. In a pug? Go ahead, ask someone to do anything lmao. "Hi, DPS, even though I'm not busy healing right now, can you stop DPS to do that mechanic so that I can just do DPS myself please?"
I've always loved finding my own build, so in SL I kept playing my nightfae feral druid mainly in pvp until they made it easier to farm all the covenants, so the "forced to play meta" topic has always made me kinda upset with the playerbase. It's very sad that you have so many talents now that can fit multiple playstyles, but people still feel forced to play the class/spec/talent that does more damage because they might not get invited to a group endgame activity. Imma keep doing my own thing, as always.
Honestly I think they need to dial back on Mythic+ giving the best gear rewards and instead have cosmetics and achievements. The whole conversation of "Cant make Delve gear better than Mythic+ because thatll ruin and force players to do Delves" and Im like bruh....we have that shit the other way around already with Mythic+ being the best way to get the best gear. Wish we could go back to vanilla raiding where we didnt have all these multiple fluff difficulties and just had one big raid that gave out the best gear
The developer literally said that, just because people use addons and they know that - they have to design the game around that and make it more difficult. It's just very sad to hear that. Imagine how simple would've been to disable addons completely and go from there. But I guess things are never that simple, are they? =]
That why I hated them adding mythic plus. Keep them challenge mode like in mop with cool cosmetics and teleports. Mythic plus made more work for raiders and the guild math for groups didn’t work if you didn’t want to pug.
As a new player just getting my feet wet, I feel like the mere existence of addons is the biggest problem of wow. It affects accessibility, new player retention, community morale and etiquette as well as combat design and class design because blizzard has to plan around addons. It would be great if they just got rid of combat addons all together.
At the end of the day it's all about the reward. If ilvl potential of delve rewards is lower than group content end game stuff, it will mostly be ignored. Especially if it is hard, punishing and unrewarding. At the end of the day this is the same mistake they did with Torghast. There was no rewards for it a be a good repeatable content.
Wont it be to easy if you are a mythic raider in way higher gear. Or the other way that if you only do delves your gear wont be high enough to get to the max difficulty.
@@keithb6344 yeah but lower then you’d get from mythic content. So without delve specific scaling mythic gear would make the 8-11 and possibly the 13th alot easier. So do they scale for them. Because then the casuals who don’t do mythic wont be able to do the hardest content directed for them.
I just want hard solo content that scales up to the equivalent of mythic raid gear. I like trying to solo dungeons, I enjoy difficult bosses like the mage tower. I’m tired of gearing being balanced around the absolute neckbeards in mythic raid guilds. It’s sad.

when i read the stream chat with " abbandon addons is the onyl way to go" i get a little soft enrage cuz exactly these people are the ones that are complaining then that i would bet at least 50-60% of the players will quit WOW cuz espspezially the interface addons like elvui, tukui etc are just pure improvement to the UI even with the new base UI !!
I wonder if any of these people have ever played any of the hard mode encounters in FFXIV? That game has no add ons and still have creative encounters with a good difficulty level.
FFXIV ABSOLUTELY has the same add on problem as wow, its just not as widely known or talked about. You try running a DSR pug in the party finder with no AM. No one is going to join.
30:10 15 years ago it was an issue, hell even back in TBC we were talking about how Warlock was FOTM or "meta" because of how overturned it was for PvP and PvE and we had 4 people reroll for raid. I don't know where people get these ideas that we were just clueless back then I have recordings of me beating bosses then and now and I'm doing basically the same rotation, if I'm parsing 99s now we probably weren't that clueless.
Think most of the “we didn’t know” or “we’re clueless” is half the player base and lack of info. Ex now we have sims and talent guides etc to help digest the info. I am Not saying you are wrong by any means though.
I just herd in another video this dude was playing 15hrs a day to get rewards. I couldn't play 15 hours in a month. When u can't keep up you tend to quit
Not gonna lie pretty salty about the Delve disclosure. Delves are solo Q heroics lol. I was a Server progression raider on in TBC and still completed raids through WOTLK but as life did what it does my brother and I made the shift to competitive PvP. We can Q 2s and it allows us to stay connected especially across the country. We were both looking forward to having some PvE content to run that might be progression oriented. Really disheartening.
That is the biggest problem on wow, they still have 50y+ working on wow can you imagine 50y playing wow ?? No they don’t play video games !! they need a touch by young people or they are at the end…
Why do people think they should just get gear for nothing? Gear should be the reward for skill and effort. No matter what, people are going to min max and reject people that aren’t in the meta. I do like the idea of getting rid of all addons including a damage meter.
It needs to have equivalent but completely different gear. Like if your mythic gear gives crit the delve gear give +mounted speed or +reputation gain or some OTHER way of giving high ilevel gear that you cant just solo and then have BiS raid gear
It should be very close but not equivalent to end game raiding gear. If its hard enough It should definitely bring you to heroic raid level if not slightly below mythic. Id wager most players dont have time to mythic raid so giving a solo version of content to grind at your own pace is a great way to bring more players to the game or make existing players play for longer each season. If the gear isnt close to max ilvl then it will become obsolete too quickly in a season and most people wont even play delves
They're making a huge mistake if the progression with gear in delves only goes up to M+5. They won't be getting my friends group of dads back at least.
How hard is it? Give the same gear to PVP, raids or other events and people can choose! Stop manipulating players with crude ideas. If you try to manipulate with different kinds of gear, it's a lie that one can choose.
You understand that what happens than is , a video what is the easiest / fastest way to get the best gear . Now you just made everyone do the mode that is the most efficient. Maybe I am out of touch but. Was arachnophobia a huge issue in the game? That being said I am down for having a filter for who it affects.

I think Blizzard could consider experimenting with servers that have no addons. That way players can opt in and they can gauge how popular it is.
Just uninstall your addons, why do you need other people to do so as well?

Mythic+5 gear in TWW = Heroic Raid gear. Its not the same as old m+5
Not going to get into the addon take, but with delves compared to m+ the keys this season and moving forward are 10 key levels lower. So a 5 is like a 15 and it wasn’t so long ago 15s gave the best look like in SL s1 etc so I think delve gear will be good especially to the “casual” player base. Doing 8s first week of s4 isn’t easy and a tiny amount below that (+5 equivalent) I think is a good starting point for them
Nothing will change and I'm not sure they can do anything about the healer situation, because it's mostly a community thing. Can a DPS take a 3 seconds break for a mechanic? Sure. Will they? Sure if they're guildies. In a pug? Go ahead, ask someone to do anything lmao. "Hi, DPS, even though I'm not busy healing right now, can you stop DPS to do that mechanic so that I can just do DPS myself please?"

I've always loved finding my own build, so in SL I kept playing my nightfae feral druid mainly in pvp until they made it easier to farm all the covenants, so the "forced to play meta" topic has always made me kinda upset with the playerbase. It's very sad that you have so many talents now that can fit multiple playstyles, but people still feel forced to play the class/spec/talent that does more damage because they might not get invited to a group endgame activity. Imma keep doing my own thing, as always.
As long they keep details or make their own dps meter I'm really not bothered get rid of all addons xD
Honestly I think they need to dial back on Mythic+ giving the best gear rewards and instead have cosmetics and achievements.
The whole conversation of "Cant make Delve gear better than Mythic+ because thatll ruin and force players to do Delves" and Im like bruh....we have that shit the other way around already with Mythic+ being the best way to get the best gear.
Wish we could go back to vanilla raiding where we didnt have all these multiple fluff difficulties and just had one big raid that gave out the best gear

The developer literally said that, just because people use addons and they know that - they have to design the game around that and make it more difficult. It's just very sad to hear that.

That why I hated them adding mythic plus. Keep them challenge mode like in mop with cool cosmetics and teleports. Mythic plus made more work for raiders and the guild math for groups didn’t work if you didn’t want to pug.
Mage tower was great. I enjoyed visions as well (maybe I am the only one)
People loved visions, it just lacked content for it.
As a new player just getting my feet wet, I feel like the mere existence of addons is the biggest problem of wow. It affects accessibility, new player retention, community morale and etiquette as well as combat design and class design because blizzard has to plan around addons. It would be great if they just got rid of combat addons all together.
At the end of the day it's all about the reward. If ilvl potential of delve rewards is lower than group content end game stuff, it will mostly be ignored. Especially if it is hard, punishing and unrewarding. At the end of the day this is the same mistake they did with Torghast. There was no rewards for it a be a good repeatable content.
Wont it be to easy if you are a mythic raider in way higher gear. Or the other way that if you only do delves your gear wont be high enough to get to the max difficulty.
You get gear from the delves.
@@keithb6344 yeah but lower then you’d get from mythic content. So without delve specific scaling mythic gear would make the 8-11 and possibly the 13th alot easier. So do they scale for them. Because then the casuals who don’t do mythic wont be able to do the hardest content directed for them.
I just want hard solo content that scales up to the equivalent of mythic raid gear. I like trying to solo dungeons, I enjoy difficult bosses like the mage tower. I’m tired of gearing being balanced around the absolute neckbeards in mythic raid guilds. It’s sad.
If you only really do Delves, then what does it even matter that Raiders get "better gear"?
everyone always feels forced to use the meta when in reality the only time it matters is at the highest levels of play

I would say delete combat addons…many of great QoL addons (like All the things and rarity) and addons that helps people with disabilities play

when i read the stream chat with " abbandon addons is the onyl way to go" i get a little soft enrage cuz exactly these people are the ones that are complaining then that i would bet at least 50-60% of the players will quit WOW cuz espspezially the interface addons like elvui, tukui etc are just pure improvement to the UI even with the new base UI !!

FFXIV ABSOLUTELY has the same add on problem as wow, its just not as widely known or talked about. You try running a DSR pug in the party finder with no AM. No one is going to join.
while I agree with you that FFXIV has less addons problem and you can complete every content without, there are third party addons that are even worst
30:10 15 years ago it was an issue, hell even back in TBC we were talking about how Warlock was FOTM or "meta" because of how overturned it was for PvP and PvE and we had 4 people reroll for raid.
I don't know where people get these ideas that we were just clueless back then I have recordings of me beating bosses then and now and I'm doing basically the same rotation, if I'm parsing 99s now we probably weren't that clueless.
Think most of the “we didn’t know” or “we’re clueless” is half the player base and lack of info. Ex now we have sims and talent guides etc to help digest the info. I am Not saying you are wrong by any means though.

Not gonna lie pretty salty about the Delve disclosure. Delves are solo Q heroics lol. I was a Server progression raider on in TBC and still completed raids through WOTLK but as life did what it does my brother and I made the shift to competitive PvP. We can Q 2s and it allows us to stay connected especially across the country. We were both looking forward to having some PvE content to run that might be progression oriented. Really disheartening.
Remove addons. Make the game more accessible for new players and casuals. Get the community game play back in WoW, rather than the gatekeeping.

Why do people think they should just get gear for nothing? Gear should be the reward for skill and effort. No matter what, people are going to min max and reject people that aren’t in the meta. I do like the idea of getting rid of all addons including a damage meter.

It needs to have equivalent but completely different gear. Like if your mythic gear gives crit the delve gear give +mounted speed or +reputation gain or some OTHER way of giving high ilevel gear that you cant just solo and then have BiS raid gear

It should be very close but not equivalent to end game raiding gear. If its hard enough It should definitely bring you to heroic raid level if not slightly below mythic.
Id wager most players dont have time to mythic raid so giving a solo version of content to grind at your own pace is a great way to bring more players to the game or make existing players play for longer each season. If the gear isnt close to max ilvl then it will become obsolete too quickly in a season and most people wont even play delves

They're making a huge mistake if the progression with gear in delves only goes up to M+5. They won't be getting my friends group of dads back at least.
How hard is it? Give the same gear to PVP, raids or other events and people can choose! Stop manipulating players with crude ideas. If you try to manipulate with different kinds of gear, it's a lie that one can choose.
