One night in the late sixties we saw Elvin Bishop, BB King and Albert Collins at the Filmore West. they all played one set and when BB came back for his second set, he invited the other two to join him. they started to jam and the concert went on till 2am when they turned the lights out. One of greatest concerts I've ever seen.
This is the Elvin Bishop I want to hear. I've gotten so tired of the "good ol' boy" business. Elvin can play the blues, he proved it with the Butterfield band, the Allman's and with Al Kooper. Come back home, Elvin.
I have seen the Allman Brothers live more times than I can remember!!! RIP Greg Allman you will be missed!!! One hell of a band being assembled in the sky recently!!!
Bobby Caldwell on drums! (Johnny Winter And, Captain Beyond, Rick Derringer, Armageddon) It was Duane who talked his label, Capricorn Records, into signing Captain Beyond in 1971.
840 Dot Ave townies only!! back in the day and you had to be known! Dryed Blood on Pool Table just like the old Lincoln > Sammy Whites. If i keep on drinkin im liable to drink way my life.
Saw Elvin in a bar in Idaho in 1972. He introduced the keyboard player as "Steve Miller, also known for his own band". Guy looked like Dr. John, to me.
