The deadline was fine. I'm bummed they couldn't shop Hancock for a better bat like Mountcastle. But those guys didn't move other than Randy. I didn't want Paredes or Chisholm, so I wasn't bummed they went to the Cubs and Yankees. Randy is a huge get and has immediately made an impact. I'm not opposed to the idea of Turner, thus far the reality is just fine. I would have been in on IKF myself but it's possible Toronto was done with Jerry until the off season. Not upset but not overly thrilled, let's hope the offense can stay hot through November.
The benefit of having Randy, JT, and a functional Polanco isn’t even just the production they themselves provide, it also means guys like Dylan Moore and Josh Rojas aren’t having to hold up the offence and can just play to their strengths. So many times this year a walk with RISP has felt like a loss, because you know the next guy probably won’t drive anyone in and that’s gotta have been weighing on those guys a lot and that’s gone now.
I cannot wait to see Randy and Julio out there together. We’ve got 2 out field spots locked in for the next few years. That’s huge, especially with some really good prospects in the pipeline
I know it feels like a "no shit" thing but this race for the West really is just gonna be a dog fight with Houston right up till the end isn't it. Great win, and I'm hopeful for the team to take the series.
The talent is there now, playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time, hope these bats can pull it off, I believe the pitching will hold up their end well enough
Nah. I want Julio and JP back on the line up. I think Victor is good too but he did go 0 for 4 in Game 1. If Julio was available yesterday then maybe he's on the bench and provides not just a potentially formidable pinch hitter bat he's also quick and can pinch run too or maybe you play Julio and Victor is the pinch hitter for Julio if he's not hitting or if he is maybe Victor can pinch hit for someone else or maybe he gets the day off and then comes back strong for Game 3. Then JP he's the Captain. Maybe he gets the Ms to rally back sooner. Or maybe he makes a great play and gets Gilbert out of the jam sooner. Of course there is no way of knowing since obviously neither was available and yeah they been struggling. But I think it's better to have the option and not need it then to need the option and not have it.
@@emmitbrown5631 I'm not denying that Julio has struggled thus far this year but I do think it's a bit foolish to just write him off when we have seen just how good he can be. If Polanco can make a comeback you don't think Julio can too? And Julio was actually doing kinda good just prior to his injury.
@mrsticky005 I think my expectation of Julio is a lot lower than most fans' expectations. He's definitely got some great tools to work with. But if we keep putting up runs until he comes back. He better not screw that flow up. I've seen Julio be awesome in the HR derbys. Really good for half his rookie year. Great for 1 month last year. And good for 2 weeks this year. I see a horrible trend.
We did well but damn for what Pittsburgh gave up for ikf damn we should have like I always knew he is really good defensively but I had no idea he was hitting this year lol
The media hyped up batters (Luis Robert Jr., Vlad Guerrero Jr., Brent Rooker, and Cody Bellinger) that were never gonna be available from those teams. The fans should wake the f*ck up and realize that the M’s did well considering pool of batters traded. The top 3 batters traded were Randy Arozarena. Isaac Paredes, and Jazz Chisholm. The M’s were lucky to get one of them considering the pool of batters that were traded. By trading early, the cost would have been higher as the deadline drew closer.
I even think Nico Hoerner would have been a great add. It would have given you options. Hoerner goes at 2nd, Polanco goes into a platoon at third/DH. You send Locklear down to add the finishing touches of growth. That way Polanco doesn't lose much in the way of at bats.
Agreed, I liked Hoerner a lot, great defender , decent bat. Sounds like there just wasn't a lot of movement with him at the deadline, maybe the Cubs wanted to keep him, seems like he's somehow who a lot of teams could have used.
Sir and Sur! That was great, full of info. I think adding Big Game Randy was a Championship Move. Adding Garcia is huge, gives the bullpen another weapon for high leverage situations. Turner has 86 games post season experience, including, like Randy, a ring. And i think being around Randy will be big for Julio. Polanco hitting now is fantastic news. I hope he keeps it up! Chargios adds depth on the pen, and experience. The offense has been just what the doctor ordered on this road trip. Especially with Philly next! It kinda seemed like Jerry was a step ahead of other teams in this limited market. Getting and staying healthy will be big for any team trying to lock up a post season spot. I like our chances much more than before we added on. Gotta go, rehab isnt fun but it is required if i want to get back to being a fully functional human. Peace!✌️
In the context of how the market seemed to pan out you can’t be too upset at what we did. Still frustrated but what can you do if the market wasn’t actually as robust as we thought. Still a good deadline, like a B-/B. If we don’t have so many issues it’d be an A, just sucks we can look at all we did and say “will that be enough?”
Of the AL West teams, Seattle had the best haul for the deadline. If Julio and JP can come back as the same Julio and JP that we have become spoiled by the last couple of years, then Seattle becomes a force to reckon with.
We’re not trading Brice Miller deadline or not maybe you consider woo because his injury’s are becoming too frequent but I think miller will get better and he durable.. so I disagree with that take..we need to ride the pitching to the promised land
I don’t think the mariners will ever have a top ten offense..never say never but in reality you wouldn’t expect it just a good offense is fine by me.?!?! I think they accomplished that the best from what was available.. they feel like a different team I don’t have the same dread if they are down by a run as I did before hopefully it’s here to stay and we make a run!!!

Chargois may not have a career line that says so, but his performance this year has been quite good. Also, think about how many times Seattle has struck gold in a lead mine in the bullpen.

Don’t forget about Victor
Hope Turner can contribute to mid-game adjustments too, if we get superstar Julio back, then this offense can actually become dangerous
Im afraid that the trade deadline moves weren't enough to make the team a contender.
4 runs in Fenway looks like 3 most everywhere else
I know it feels like a "no shit" thing but this race for the West really is just gonna be a dog fight with Houston right up till the end isn't it. Great win, and I'm hopeful for the team to take the series.
5 games of 6+ runs in a row. I don't think we have seen that post COVID.
Staying on til the end of the Astros game was so dang cute. 😂
Haha had to do it!!!!
Massive W on the field and with the trade deadline. If Julio and JP come back healthy and perform well, this team is going to the WS!
The talent is there now, playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time, hope these bats can pull it off, I believe the pitching will hold up their end well enough
The M’s were too focused on the Vlad Jr negotiations that other trades slipped by the M’s (Blue Jays’ IKF and Ray’s Isaac Paredes).
Julio & JP can take as long as they want coming back. We got Victor, we're good!

Let’s see how the M’s handle outside veteran bats. Jarret DeHart, Director of Hitting, hasn’t had a successful track record with outside veteran bats.
