I'm not going to lie, you know how you go to church as a kid and see all those people "praising god" and think.. you could never feel that way.. well this song did it.. it moved me so much I felt the spirit of my goddess every time I hear this song.. it's like a church song for the wiccans and pagans.. it's like you feels this tingling throughout your whole body.. It makes me want to go outside and feel the Earth under my toes, it makes me want to listen to the fae as they whisper in my ears through the wind and talk to trees. It feels like I'm in church being saved by my goddess 💜

They take away the mother, or like the elite worship a dark mother the destroyer, this is where we get nanny states from. I feel kinda bad when I'm hearing this song, because I don't know if I love my mother. She makes so many mistakes and let my father taking care of me and my brother alone... I wish I could love her more, but everytime I know her more it's more difficult
I feel similarly regarding this, but somehow it makes the meaning behind the song more powerful to me. I think it's not about who gave birth to you, but who makes you feel unconditionally loved. That's what a "mother" is supposed to represent, so even if your biological one isn't that to you, maybe someone else is.

Same here. My mother was just plain ol' abusive. I remember being a kid and trying to tell her I was being bullied and her response was something like, what did you do to make them bully you. She has also told me I'm a shitty parent for being poor, something I had no control of. As well as lots of other various even worse things.
I've been at better peace with my mind and heart once I acknowledge that I don't love my mother, but I don't hate her and I'm in good terms with her. For me, personally, my "mother" was my grandma, whom passed 6 years ago, for she raised me and loved me and supported me all the way

At first, I wasn't completely sold on this album. I still enjoyed it (as I do literally everything by ITM), but it didn't hit me quite as hard as Ritual. However, on my 2nd through to my (currently 5th) listen I can say I'm utterly obsessed! The powerful lyrics, the passion, the awesome instruments and of course, Maria's unbelievably haunting voice... just, ugh
