Autumn's House (and Mia's a mum now) - Lego Friends set build & review

- It is almost 2023 and time to find out what the new Lego Friends reboot really has to offer, in the flesh. First build (kindly provided by Lego) is Autumn's House 41730 and all I can say is WOW. The new characters are endearing and the build is much more challenging than I expected. Check out part 1 here.
If you've just dropped by, I'm Ellie! Lego is an artistic medium and no matter your building expertise there is something here for everyone. Stick around and I'll build for you while I review new sets and create my own customs (MOCs). I tend to geek out about new pieces, get excited about learning new and interesting building techniques, giggle too much and just generally ramble. I'm easily distracted so things can get a bit hectic, but I'm sure you're down for that.

Still can’t believe that the LEGO friends I grew up with are getting replaced 😢 but I’m so glad the old friends are still being included (as in becoming parents!) I think Autumn might be my favorite friend already 😊… but I shouldn’t start picking favorites until we meet them all!

My favorite if definitely the kid with the prosthetic leg! I don’t remember his name but I just love the fact he has a prosthetic leg 🥹

@@reputationtaylorsversio.n yes me too! I think it makes it all the more special. Especially for kids who have those disabilities and don’t feel seen
they’re not getting replaced lol they’re just making them older with kids so the new characters are probably all of their kids

I really like the style of this house with the long porch with the lattice details underneath and the fireplace, plus we get a nice big fridge. Though it bothers me a little that there is no whisk piece on the mixer.
I wonder if the little claw could be replaced with a whisk or whether it wouldn’t fit? I’ll have to see.
There are a few different kinds of mixers, some have whisks like you said but others have a different kind of spinny bit, my mom's mixer has one that looks pretty similar to the claw peice on the mixer in the build.

@@ellieV I tried it, too! I replaced the little claw with a whisk piece (same color). It fits and I prefer the whisk piece in the mixer! Loveee the idea, this is better! 👌💯
This set is so beautiful!
And I think the "G" on the fridge is for Gabriella.
In the dog rescue center set we can see a picture of Autumn and Gabriella hanging on the wall and I'm not sure what their relation is but I think it's really cute!
I'm in love with this set! Autumn instantly became my favorite character and not just because she's Mia's daughter (though that was the icing on the cake indeed!). I'm really excited for all the adventure that's to come in this new series of Friends. I guess I understand why they left out Mia's freckles, people might think she looks too young or something, but it's true freckles don't fall off when we get old. Loved the Mamma Mia joke haha. And also love the racial diversity and Leo's use of Rex Dangervest's hairpiece. "Turquoise and yellow which seem like obscene colors" Allow me to introduce you to LEGO Rock Raiders, my all-time favorite theme from 1999! Turquoise and yellow were two of the main colors of that theme and it looks AMAZING.

i searched in every set to find someone starting with "G" and i found just 1 person. Its Gabriela,the doctor from the dog rescue center of this year
so if your right (which sounds super possible!!) either they are just really good friends OR MIAS A LIL FRUITY
Also on one of the panels in the dog rescue center, there's a sticker with a portrait of Autumn and Gabriella together, which is pinned in place with a heart thumbtack. Gabriella also has some similarities with Autumn (the freckles, eyebrows, and red hair) so I think that there's some sort of a connection.

I was not expecting Mia to be a mum, Lego should make a series on the old girls growing up, so we have an idea of what happened, I love your videos and always watch them.

In Germany we have an Magazine from Blue Ocean for Lego Friends and in there are cards of THE HLC in posters , I Hope in future magazines are these cards too.

When you first told all of us that Mia , Stephanie, Olivia , Andrea and Emma were leaving us and we had new friends I wasn't sure if I would keep building but now I am so excited to see these sets in the shops.😊

It is the one set I want most! All their houses I love. This one is just so perfect

I love the similarities to Mia's house in the OG sets. That build had quite a small living space with a large front, a small living room on the left, a tiled kitchen without an (attached) table, and a cramped living area. I don't think I've seen a useful fridge like that since Emma's house, so I'm glad they're taking the best parts of all the Friends sets, and putting it all together! Finally, we get more advanced Friends builds. I've heard so many people say "well Friends is for little kids cuz its pink and not creator expert level". Of course, they were wrong, but I'm glad that this line is more accessible to people of all ages. Definitely looking forward to building this one!

PART TWO PLEASEEEEEEEE! i love it so much! im saving up all my money for this! You could make a prosthetic arm for Autumn with Your 3D printer!
When more autumn styles come aout you could make her a oversized hoodie so like her character with 2 full arms (love her disability by the way shes my fave) and you could cut off the hands so its like she has way to big of a hoodie. Just a idea.
i love this! I just wanted to say Ellie, I've been watching your videos since 2015 when they first started coming out. I was six then and now I'm thirteen. I love your channel so much! And I can't believe we have a new generation of lego friends, its sooooo exciting. Also it would be so cool if Autumn other parent was Stephanie or one of the other OG lego friends. This lego set / house shape is soo simular to Mia's childhood house.

I think that the dogs a border collie! Which would make sense as they are very active, outdoor dogs and if you look in the background and at a lot of things in mia/autumns home (eg the chicken rug) you can see its very likely mia owns a ranch or farm! Border collies are sheep dogs, so thats most likely the breed!
That is so cool Mia is all grown up and im in love with auts shirt and hair I feel like she is totally like mia in hobbies too
These new sets are going to be incredible!! I’m so excited for all the little Easter eggs to the old girls pasts! The new characters are so relatable and Lego is showing so much more diversity. Keep being amazing Ellie 💙
Paisley also doesn't have a second parent but does bare a striking resemblance to Mia so maybe Mia and there dad are divorced

Omg this is so cool! First up, I used to think that this new series was going to suck. I was going to miss it and honestly was mad at Lego! But I kind of like it now! After diving more into these sets online I actually didn’t mind it! I have a friend with one arm so I personally I think it’s amazing that Lego is doing that! Second, i love grown up Mia and I wish they would do more grown up characters like Emma, Daniel, Stephanie, etc. when I played, I would always make the grown up! snd it was so fun! To see Mia like this, amazing ✨! And yeah so I love this new line of Lego and so muchhhh! And I personally am a little too old to collect legos 😭 teenager (I know that’s not old but like 😭) but I would love to find one and continue to watch this channel and all of this!

Being a teen doesn't make you too old for Lego. Even Lego puts up to age 99 on a lot of it's boxes 🤣😅
I’m a teenager and I still have my legos I don’t play with them like I used to but it’s still fun to get new sets and build. At this point everything I have on display I’ve. Built ✨ your never to old for legos✨
Yes I know :) I still have them in the basement and I go down their everyday and make Characters and a few things :). Ty for pointing that out and I feel like I should realize that I’m never to old for legos :) ty :) tho I got them out of my room coz I love books a bit more… lol but legos will always have a special place in my heart ❤️✨
You’re never too old! You just evolve how you build and display them (and still play with them a little 😉)

Very nice!! The Friend's houses always feel so nice and Modifiable and expandable? I think if it were me, first thing I'd do is lift the first floor up a brick so we don't have that step down? But the colors are so niiiiiice!!

Oh my gosh!! This set is stunning. The one thing I don't like is that I can barely recognize Mia now! I really like the new hair pieces that Lego has made and I can't wait to see the rest of the new Lego Friends. 🙃

Maybe the Ear Feet compensate for their lack of cephalic ears? 🤣 Maybe Stephanie is Autumn's other parent? Though Mia being a capable parent alone would be an awesome message to put out there and children with 1 parent would feel represented. The G on the fridge is a mystery.. There's a Gabriella in Lego Friends, and set 41742 has a grey kitty called Gertrude, maybe she's Autumn's cat? Though who doesn't have random letter magnets that don't refer to anything on their fridge 😅. So excited for the new Lego Friends! There's a rumour that Autumn is getting a stable in the summer 2023 wave. I hope it pairs well with this house

If you actually open it up like how you open up a normal Lego set you can take out the white cardboard which holds each door. THIS MAKES GREAT STORAGE! I am using mine and storing my fav Lego characters and the 5 girls generations (the og version of them, the current version of them and their kids!) YOU can also store plants (they make good plant pots!) just wanted to let you and your viewers know ❤❤❤! Love you x

I am literally going to cry. I used to always watch your videos and as a kid around 3-5 years ago I used to always do Lego elves and Lego friends and be inspired by your videos. Now as a teen I’ve decided to get back into Lego and I’m so happy how wholesome these sets are ❤
I think it is amazing that they have new characters because lets be honest lego cant keep going with the same characters forever. I also love that the old characters are being incorporated into the new characters lives.

Suspicious-
I feel like Mia would be a minimalist and I kinda like how we don't see a second parent for Autumn. They could be away, them and Mia could have split up, Mia could have had Autumn without a second parent. Lots of explanations for getting only one parent in the set. Lots of kids grow up with one present parent and it's good representation.
This is such a cool set! I really think you could try making a Too much New Year's build, maybe? Since you've already done a Too much Christmas build for the main street one.
In my version of the story, Autumn would still have those character traits listed on the lego site, but she would also have two older brothers named Cameron and Ryan and two younger sisters named Summer and Winter
Ellie should do videos imagining who might live in the houses that belonged to the OG Friends now. Like redecorate them for Matilde or Jordin etc
