I've been fibro for 2 decades, everytime I fall back into eating more carbs from grains and sugar than I normally consume I will have a relapse. This last episode was horrible, I will definitely go back on my low carb high protein and fat diet.

I did not feel better on Keto and then I tried Carnivore. I did strict Keto for two yrs. and Carnivore for three months. Yes I followed Dr. Berry and his lovely wife Neisha and I felt like a nutcase! I never felt better not even a little bit. I felt like a failure and sometimes I wanted to die! My brain and body was not well until I got off this way of eating! My body does well with oranges, blueberries and pineapple. I make home made soups with good quality meats. I'm 54 yrs. old and I feel great after getting off Keto, I'm sorry but I think everybody is different. My immune disease needs healthy carbs. and I do believe fruits and vegetables and good quality meats are great for me. I do not eat sugar at all. I believe fruit is a healthy sugar created by god with tons of wonderful health properties to them. I never feel a crash like processed sugar. I feel so much better NOT eating the way I use to eat. I think it's important that people no that not all people will feel better. I was ready to take my life, until I was strong enough to think for myself and try something else.

I think you've found your personal proper human diet! That's the point of any of these templates. I am not considering keto right now as I know I do well with more carb than they allow. Its more about what we prioritise than what we don't eat

I've tried vegan - not a great help and advised to get off it by my chronic illness doc as it isn't nutrient diverse enough. Now just started testing keto, and a few weeks in am finding it fairly easy to do (and successful using KetoMojo monitor) and have already lost 10 pounds, with about 15 to go (overweight due to complete lack of exercise!) And I feel slightly better? Still early, but trending is good. Not planning on life conversion, only testing to see where it takes me. But in and out of keto with sustained low sugar/carb is likely. All this after finding Myhill's information. Good to hear your summary of your path through fibromyalgia. My case is ME/CFS brought on by very early covid, apparently. It's a new and challenging world! Thanks!

I’ve recently discovered Dr. Berry and Neisha as well! Was diagnosed with fibro last month and I was determined to find ways to lessen the symptoms without medication if possible. I’ve already greatly reduced the amount of sugar I was eating on a daily basis and I definitely noticed a difference. This week I started low carb overall, so hopefully that helps even more. Not sure if I could go full on carnivore, but ketovore may be good for me. I may eventually try an elimination diet to see what I react to, though.
Also supplementing Magnesium has helped, and a friend with Fibro recommended I get my Vitamn D level checked.

Good work already! The hard part is the sugar - they put that in everything. Your friend has good advice, vitamin d is worth a check. I feel that we do need fibre and vegetables, I love nutrivore.com approach - nutrient density. Good luck on your journey and do share how you go?

My was 38 I think. I get some diabetes symptoms but say my bloods are fine. But I'm sure I'm pre diabetes. I get bad fatigue, sudden feeling of shaking/sweaty bouts, fungal toe nail infections, and I have a large waist and a bmi of 37 at 5'4. So I'm overweight. I don't trust blood tests results here in the UK. Xx ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Weight is a stacked deck for us! Genetics, lack of sleep, medications, sympathetic dominance, pain, and inability to make nutritious food all compounds! Unless you're seriously worried, I'd focus on the rest of the pieces. I will say dropping carbs and increasing protein may help
