Shoulder injuries suck man. I had some partial tearing in my biceps tendon near my deltoid and holy shit did it suck. Just lifting milk jugs out of a damn refrigerator hurt like hell. Even light workouts like the shit you were doing were basically impossible. Just over did it with arnold presses and boom, basically no shoulder activity for about three months. Worst part was trying to lift my backpack from the passenger seat when exiting, just trying to move your arm across your body sucked, adding in weight to it, hell no.

I wish I could find physical therapists like this man. Most of them where I live focus on what muscle that causes the pain and just tell me work on the muscle more bc it's compensating for the other weaker opposing muscle. But they don't look at the motor function of the that muscle and see what other ones are doing most of the work that causing the problem bc there's another one that's shut off for some reason. It's kind of frustrating
As someone studying to be a doctor... Terron: the reason why it's tough to lift your arm when you internally rotate (engaging the subscapularis) is because you put your trapezius in a biomechanical advantage to be used, hence engaging it; the reason why it is easier when you rotate externally, is because you engage your anterior deltoid -- rather than your trapezius. Also grafting doesn't work. You also don't need to strengthen your rotator cuff -- they naturally get stronger because you use them when you workout as stabilizers for your arm.
Over the course of 3 years i managed to dislocate both of my shoulders to the point where I tore every ligament from my right shoulder. Just got surgery done 2 months ago, now im in physical therapy, then in about 3 months i get to have my other shoulder done! Hopefully i didnt destroy it as bad

I was taught to lift by dudes who told me simply: "see heavy shit, pick it up and move it." After years of doing that shit I found myself seeing a chiropractor three times weekly. Working with a trainer to get some corrective stuff done.
in order to prevent muscle stress, try some flexibility stretch. Bruce Lee always believed in external and internal movement's. isometric workouts help a lot in keeping the body flex, but also flexibility help loosen and relax the muscles that are overworked. I love phichical therapy
