While it does not have any upsides to give it an advantage, it also does not impede you with any negatives either. If you are already in the position of having a good nest with minimal threats pouring in it's not having either matters. It also gives some good random crits for any spy getting close to you or anyone trying to sneak around sentry. The damage you deal with sentry and your own shotgun/pistol help add to them which quickly allow you to end those fights fast and repair for next person.
I hate to admit but I have close to 400 hours on engineer and i have been using the stock wrench the entire time. I just found your channel and tf2 scrap. I cant wait to try the new wrenches and the jag roll out
In mvm I prefer eureka. It's incredibly useful to be able to pop straight back to spawn even if you have the upgrade. Given you can go it anywhere at anytime without a charge, upgrade, and get right back no matter where you are. The fact that it doesn't use a change is especially helpful on later waves when your teleporter may be more crowded. It may not seem like much given how fast a level 3 teleporter charges but given how chaotic later mvm waves can be, every second doesn't not doing damage can be detrimental to your team so the more that teleporter is charged the better. Then there's the case of being your teams second engie, which is when I like to run the disposable exit playstyle, basically treating my teleporter like the disposable sentry. Leaving it in a super dangerous spot like right next to your sentry knowing it won't cost you much, if anything, if destroyed so you can more effectively tank it.
Personally, even in MVM I’d like to use the Jag cause faster swing speed and build speed sometimes let you save the canteen by clanking rapidly. Slow repair speed is negligible when the damage is small too. If your sentry is about to die, you’d rather want to use canteen in order to save your metal anyways so… Pretty much only upside of the stock Wrench is removing sapper for 2 hits, not 3 hits I think. Yeah, stock melees are in quite sad position. But yeah, gotta agree that those somewhat helped establishing classes’ identity. I mean, who can think of a Nope Engineer without a stock Wrench in his hand? Such a classic weapon.
Hey, Uncle Dane! I have a quick question. What settings are you using to have your HUD look like that, (health and ammunition right beside each other, and the removed team background from your player model)?

"The longer he's left alone with his devices, the more powerful he becomes" Basically every 8-year-old
I love the pan at 0:50. "some weapons are just so powerful that..."
Dane, you picked some of the most class tracks in Halo for this trilogy, good shit man.
i love how the description also makes sense because theres halo music through out every one of the trilogy
Uncle Dane posting 3 days in a row? I didn't know Christmas was in summer
Uncle Dan blessed us with his presence once agan
I can't wait for what Dane has to say about the stock PDA and destruction PDA.
look at the pinned comment.
6:36 i hear halo music, you earn a sub for bringing me nostalgia to the simple days of shooters: just run and shoot
I love it that the drying pan is one of the direct upgrades
Tomislav definitely doesn't negate the stock minigun, it's practically the definition of a sidegrade.
nah, tomislav is pretty much a direct upgrade
@@Liam_The_Great I prefer stock to the tomi any day of the week, it's much more of a preferenc.
I prefer stock wrench because I dislike switching wrenches constantly in game, so it’s efficient all around.
The stock wrench is the item with the highest random crit chance in the game. When there are a lot of spies in a game, it's better than other options.
You forgetting medic melees
Vitasaw, Ubersaw and Scotmans skullcutter:
I hate to admit but I have close to 400 hours on engineer and i have been using the stock wrench the entire time. I just found your channel and tf2 scrap. I cant wait to try the new wrenches and the jag roll out
keep using the stock wrench
Can’t wait to see Stock engineer: Small height
These thumbnails are gonna look a little less cool when Uncle Dane uploads four more videos.
Dane has definitely played halo recently cause this background music be slappin
My MAN Dane just spewing out all of these videos at once. This was a very nice short series!
Hol’ up, how is Dane gonna do a stock load out with his cosmetics?
The description makes me realize a little more why you picked halo music.
You forgot that Machete is an upgrade over everything else in any situation.
I just realised this is a trilogy of videos and you open each video with OST's from Halo 1, 2 and 3 to parallel the video. Clever.
I'm loving all these updates! Keep it up if you can!
Stock is the best cause you can hit your sentry with a mallet
Hey, Uncle Dane! I have a quick question. What settings are you using to have your HUD look like that, (health and ammunition right beside each other, and the removed team background from your player model)?
You don’t sound like you’re memeing, so I’ll tell you: he uses raysHud.

8:44 XD
Man I love the halo music you've used in all 3 of these videos, it's great
We are spoiled. This motivates me to release my Godlike Engie video this week. Thanks for being an inspiration to us Ankle Dan!
Yes, Uncle Dane, we know you like the engineer. It’s not always about the engineer though, sometimes, it’s about drive, it’s about power, we stay hungry, we devour.
Wtf am I high? 3 uploads in a row
I am
When are we going to have a Battle Engi: Gunslinger?
He already made a review on the Gunslinger
@@waffles9733 I know I've already watched it but it would be nice to see a new serie called Battle Engi
@@barbarosbozkurt758
I would much rather see another video about the Eureka Effect, cause the review he made 4 years ago is really boring and that quirky haha funny ninjaneer video made almost everybody see the Eureka as a joke weapon which i don't like
@@waffles9733 haha Ninja go brrrrr,
That would be great as well
@@barbarosbozkurt758 dude, that's not funny
I’m loving these back to back uploads.
theese videos coming out one after another is heaven
7:35 lvl 3 wrench
Southern Hospitality is the best wrench
Alright guys, let’s get ready for Stock Engineer: the Taunts
Halo music, each halo game corresponding to a different video in this mini series. Nice detail, very entertaining for a fan of halo
I Love You Uncle Dane! Thanks For Getting on The "Make Her Wet" Track We Did. It's So Cool that I Got You on That. 💯
I love it when Uncle Dane puts dispenser. It never gets old. ☺
Really digging the Halo music. Especially love the game you used music from matches with the order you made each video.
I love the fact the stock wrench absorbs some of the heat while you’re on fire.
A little while ago I played TF2 on the orange box with my ps3. And omg is it such a different experience. Not being able to pick up your buildings, only having stock weapons, and only being able to upgrade your sentry is so strange. And yet in my eyes much more satisfying.
I think the stock wrench is the best generalist for ppl who don't want to bother switching their weapons on every respawn, especially on maps with short timers
