As a 50 year old man who used to come home from High School every day and slam the "Live After Death" cassette tape in my stereo as I got in the door...it's real nice to see the younger generation appreciating where it all came from. Never thought I'd hear Iron Maiden sound like that. Excellent :)
I started listening music and being passionate about heavy music with Life After Death. Just a kid, less than 12 years, but looking at the album cover as it was the most precious jewel. Completely agree i couldnt think I would have 47 and people would still love this. Big huge for you mate!

Well said. I was fortunate enough to be at two of those four Long Beach Arena California shows recorded for Live After Death,,,Twisted Sister opened for them and they weren't too shabby either...

Dear God, this is simply beautiful. Stunning even. I am a lifelong professional musician touring for years and in a wide number of bands ranging from punk to metal to hardcore. And I just have to stop and comment on how much your version of this classic Iron Maiden song has touched my heart and soul. So moving it brought tears to my eyes. But you must understand that the original song represents a period of time in my life that was wonderful, young and free. To Gabbie Rae, keep on going and you will land somewhere great. You deserve success. And to Patrick, your reinterpretation of the song onto acoustic guitar was perfectly subtle and tasteful. Well done to all! Sincerely.

absolutely stunning. I love this maiden song so much. Adrian's touch. It stucked in my head from the first day I heard it; it was at my best friend's house and he has just bought "somewhere in time" and said "you have to listen to this one man". Second song on the record. I'll never forget. The intro riff, the guitar sound, the guitar solo everything floored me. And from the first day I picked up the guitar 20 (not wasted) years ago, I wanted to play this song. Now, I play it on a regular basis. Here's how you recognise a good song: slow down the tempo and play the song on a piano or an acoustic. If it sounds great, then you have a great song. If not it means your song relies too much on non musical elements (like distortion, delay,..).
As a fellow guitar player since the early 90s who tried to emulate all the shredders of the time. You are spot on my friend! The melody and lyrics of this song evoke nostalgia. Maiden is still my favorite trad. metal band. But as I'm sure you know. Inspiration doesn't grow on tress. So I listen to many different genres nowadays besides Rock and metal. There is an English gentleman that does Wasted Years by the name of Stuart Clifford who gave me chills when I heard it! There is so much unrecognized talent out there! Peace!

A different cover of this song just popped up in my feed. I’m a huge Maiden fan, so I gave it a listen..it literally brought me to tears. I’m now going down the rabbit hole to see if another cover will hit me like that..this one did. I can honestly say that Maidens version has never brought me to tears. Lol
I really feel your cover of one of Iron Maiden's song. I am living in my Golden Years. A woman who stands beside me. A kiddo who looks up to me. Everything I didn't have in my 20s. Too busy then partying and womanizing.

I have been listening and playing Iron Maiden for more than 20 years. This is the first time that I have really payed attention to the lyrics of this song.
I grew up with Iron Maiden and many of the other bands you cover and im always amazed at how good it is to hear these again in your style. Who knew someone could take classics like that and make them sound new again...lol
