Thank you for the video. I've spent 30mins removing plastics from inside the boot and breaking half of the plastic pins before I played this vid and fixing it in 10 mins. I had the same problem, the button suddenly stopped opening the boot, and after I opened it with a screwdriver it started to work just fine. Primeras and their electrics problems
@@CarSpyTV lol, me either. But a different kind of boot. My first 2 pairs Timberland boots lasted 2 weeks. My third pair needs changing after 3 months. Luckily they are warranty for 2 years. Lol
Thank you for your quirky channel and entertaining fixes. My Nissan Primera boot is still playing me up but I haven't used all the goodies and toothbrush yet . I shall have to include a toothbrush as well as a toothpick in my "you never know " toolkit from now on lol . 😂 Good Oral care has so many benefits !
Thanks for this video, was actually browsing through your channel from Mauritius, i have a simillar car and since 3 weeks now, I am stuck with this problem, worst the small white plastic lever seems broken and the way the bolts on the square metal that holds the lock is held, it is not easy to unbolt so as i can have a proper look at the lock mechanism. Worst of all, i need to apply the rear light ground fix since it went on limp mode as well. It is quite a pain though driving this car is soo enjoyable.
@@CarSpyTV i used to be on npoc even a paying member but their forum was down some years ago, i thought it went out forever. I will definitrly check it out. Am even near considering an angle grinder right now. But i will try to give it some more patience and see how it goes before this.
You could try a pump air wedge that slightly prys the door open. You could then press the unlock button with a long stick (or similar). This method risks damaging the car, but I've seen it work. Food for thought, perhaps. Good luck.
I had the same problem, and like a dufus only de-greased and sprayed with WD-40 on the bottom non moveable bit. That's why I'm looking for a fix.. I feel like a right berk now having seen you correctly point out it's the top bit that needed doing.. DOH, and thanks in equal measure!
Great video as always, not sure about the fish knife blade but use of degreaser and toothbrush to be commended. I thought you might use grease and accumulate shedding. 😆😁
Great reminder to check out lock mechanisms. Good to see how you went about degreasing and lubricating your dodgy boot lock. Worked well!
Thank goodness there's an emergency release!

That was a surprise when you disappeared inside the boot! Good you had very little in it.
I'm glad the dog wasn't in there at the time!
Nice fix. Interesting to check the fuses first. I wouldn't have thought of that. Good vid.
Thanks Bob. Glad you enjoyed it.

I like the way you show the thought process. Great video. At least it’s simpler than the mk2 lol
Thank you, Matt. Glad you enjoyed the video. I've not had a lot of luck with boots recently!

I will have a look at my transit but can't find the button on the door or anything, will call ford's and ask where mine is, have a good week mate
Don't worry, Ian. I'll lend you mine. Hope you have a good week, too.
@@CarSpyTV will look forward to fitting that mate
??this button is only used when the car is started!!!???
When the engine's running, the boot can only be opened via the button on the driver's armrest.
