I used to think every investor lose out during inflation, meanwhile, some make millions. I also thought everybody went out of business during the Great Depression, but some went into business. The bottom line, there's always depression for some and profit for others, it all starts with having the right mindset. That said, I've set asides $250k to invest for the future, unfortunately, I'm a complete noob.
Bad year for me, META is down 40k, ALLP is down 35k, Draft Kings is down 6k, NIO is down 15K, ABML is down 8k, and my wife doesn’t know. I'm just hanging on to Jim Cramer's words about opportunities in volatile times so perhaps, I either wait for a recovery or pick profitable investments to substitute for my loss.

Everyone has been preaching "buy now, stocks are at a discount" but I've been buying stocks since the beginning of the year and yet nothing's changed, but I've been reading articles of people still in the same market pulling off over 350k in just a couple months, what am i doing wrong?
You're not doing anything wrong, you just don't have the required skillset to profit off a down market, folks that are making profit in this market are pros and experts with in-depth knowledge and skillset.
True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diverssify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of $550k...that's like 7times more than I average on my own.

Nice content! Few years back i was assistant to a wealthy pen artist and within the short period i worked with him i observed that he had quite a chunk of investment everywhere, stocks, crypto, dividend investing to name a few, so he had revenues coming in from all angles. And in a year his worth doubled. With this i learned that the rich stay rich by investing.
i agree with this but the problem now is getting to make the right investments, Lots of people tend to lose their money while investing thereby making them lose interest and also end up discouraging other individuals around them.
I think the major challenges investors face may range from controlling impulsiveness to the frail of compulsion. Most newbies and would-be investors often undermine and most often neglect the importance of technical analysis with regards to investing. Technical analysis overly predicts the movement of asset prices regardless of what is happening in the wider or broader market. Essentially, the process involves studying the paths of a particular asset movement in the past so as to establish a sustainable pattern that can be used to predict future movements or better still get an investment advisor who'd guide you and help you manage your portfolio just like my boss back then, He was working with an IA Edmund John Brock and i would bet he still does. I can boldly recommend him because i've witnessed his performance first hand. He's the real deal.

Great content. Newbies must realize that though investing (especially in stocks) can make you, it can equally mar you as it not without lots of risks. The market is a zero sum game and you could potentially lose all. Always make correct inquiries before putting your money somewhere or better still, get the services of a pro (that way, you give little room for error). Made my first million earlier this year this way. Good luck!

Reasons why people won't invest right now: Crypto crashing, Record inflation, Bear market fears, Rising interest rates, Housing bubble talk , But maybe...these are reasons to invest right now.
After it all crashes then you invest. Get the stuff no one wants for dirt cheap. Then your losses are minimal if things don’t pick up. Everyday as food goes up your money is worth less. It’s good now to have a lot of precious metals on hand. . The value is skyrocketing.
The key is knowing what you own and getting the best price possible. Falling prices give you the opportunity to lower your average cost. It’s a gift.

Informative video! I agree with the point that the SIP method might kill the excitement even though it makes you disciplined. So I do SIP in mutual funds and invest every 2-3 months in the stock market after doing some research.
Totally agree with your analysis here on this podcast. With the markets having more put order executions; situations like this are best hedged with sustainable positions especially bitcoin, as price strongly deviated against its long term mean average. The further it deviates the more momentum for a reversal to the upside. whales are currently in a liquidity grab at the lows. I've had series of trading losses I'd best not mention before being introduced to Mr. Jeff Erno. Hi Akshat, I own HDFC Bank and looking for one more large cap stock to add. Slightly confused between ICICI and Axis Bank.
I do follow Saurabh Mukherjea as well and wonder why ICICI Bank is not there in his portfolio inspite of bank doing well since past 3-5 yrs.

The wisest thing that should be on everyones' mind currently, should be, To invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on the government, especially with the current economic crisis around the world.
And also, Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in the twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you're no longer accumulating but withdrawing, it's hard to be anything but cautious.
The pandemic really taught people the importance of multiple streams of income. Unfortunately, having a job doesn't guarantee 100% security, rather having different investments is the real deal.

The market is very unstable and you can not tell If it's going bearish or bullish. Hey John, It's usually best to ignore the trend whether bullish or bearish and stick to a proper trading plan maybe from the help of a professional. I recently just started investing again so I am still in touch with the consultant that provides entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. She does all the technical analysis legwork while I go about my other businesses. You can use something else if you are the DIY type of guy, investing has no one way to do it

I have a genuine doubt, When you buy a US stock, you end up paying some fee towards currency exchange, some towards the brokerage end of the day your profit is reduced by approx 5-6% (may be more)
Portfolio size matters here. It should be minimum of 4 lakhs or so
Please tell us how you segregate your investments between different demat accounts it'll help us all in the long run

Great video. One doubt though, how can we scale down the investment to 10k or so when just one stock like Nestle is around 17k. Is there a way to buy fraction of Indian stocks ?
A simple strategy mate, if your capital to invest is lower than a particular stock to be invested in a bouquet of stocks that you’ve analysed and hand picked. Always go for the ones which is in the support and resistance in a channel zone (Akshat has a video published regarding the zones) and based on the stocks which trade in that zone diversify or concentrate your investment. Hopefully that helps. :)

I request you to make a list of small-cap and mid-cap stocks for sip so that 10 years down the line we can see good returns on those companies as with time few of them will become large-cap companies.
