    I watched this video maybe 50 times, and ended up doing my own steel pickguard on my DIY kit. The nibbler is a very unforgiving tool, but on my third attempt, I was able to come up with something I liked. I decided to stop at the "too pretty" result of the rotary sander, and I applied the rust proofing you mentioned, but a layer of Renaissance Wax made the pickguard feel and look wonderful. In fact it looked so good, I had to do a custom truss rod cover and rear compartment cover too (SG style guitar). Thank you for the inspiration, and double thank you for the demonstration.

    • @carek99
      @carek99 4 года назад

      Forgot to mention for anyone else wanting to try it. The Poly will remove the conductivity, so to ground the pickguard you will need to sand it back in at least one place. Also, research indicates that it will drain some of the high end, but I am not finding that on my practical example. Finally, this is in fact a fantastic canvas for some engraving work, the result looks awesome.

    I thought clicking to the next videos from your last one was to a video showing installing the electronics. Though I had to watch this video again cause I received the sheet metal nibbler cutter 3 or 4 days ago and haven't used it cause I couldn't make out how it will cut. Lol. Watching the video again I see that it's not the tip that cuts (stupid me) lol. Yet this is amazing cause the rod doesn't look sharpened or that it will cut anything. It doesn't look like its a dangerous tool to use. That's a PLUS. Thanks again for sharing this. You Rock.
