Hello friends! Thank you so much for watching! I’ve only recently started on RUclips, and this is my very first video - it took me about 1.5 months to put everything together. I really hope you’ll find it interesting and somewhat entertaining. Please, please do subscribe to the channel - at this early stage, your support has a HUGE impact, and absolutely every person counts. I am doing this full-time now, and if you want to see how it goes, it would be great to have you on board! As always, feel free to reach out for any feedback, questions and suggestions. You can ping me on Twitter or via email in the channel description. Thank you for your help and support!
Hey Mustacchi, thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it :) Glad you liked it! Will have to do Part II a bit later, as I need to get a few other videos out of the way first. Thank you!
just discovered this channel from a recent twitter-thread you made and it's hands down the best finance content i've come across so far - hope you'll continue to post videos and keep up the amazing work!
Hi Peter! Thank you so much for your words of support and encouragement! I just started recently and it's so great to hear that my first few attempts haven't been too bad. Thank you so much!
Hey! Many thanks for the video it was really interesting :-) Cannot wait for the new videos! The graphs and analysis on your computer screen seems really interesting as well. I hope you will explain some analysis with code etc :-) Good luck and keep pushing!
Hey Alexander! Thanks so much for your kind words - really glad you enjoyed the video! Will try to do more analytical videos later on, as well. Just covering the basics for now :) Again, thank you!
Great sum up, but i thin k it would be even better if you mentioned Michael Burry and his letters to GME boards at a similar time that roaring kitty initiated positions, both of them were buying on the same purposes.
Hi Harry! Yeah, sorry, I probably should have mentioned him too. The video got really long as it is, and I was trying to trim it down as much as possible (and still haven't covered any developments post-GME ATH, which is coming up in Part 2). Thanks so much for watching! Much appreciated!
Thats a brilliant video Sergey! Well done my former colleague from Bloomberg. What a talented person and fantastix educational videos. Is there a part two to this video? WHen you explain 3rd reason for squeeze, you explain a bit fast and not always easy to follow
At 17:28 that process of shorting wont even end i suppose , they cn borrow shares short them and again they borrow the same short shares. And this goes on . What the end to it?
That's true - shorted shares can be borrowed from a new owner and shorted again. Theoretically, it can go on indefinitely, but at some point, short-sellers will have to start unwinding...
Yes, exactly. High short interest provided a good setup for a short squeeze, but once everyone jumped on call options, gamma squeeze became a strong force in the market as well.
1. So where is part two? 2. Please remove this running line on the background. It does not make you any more professional or trustworthy but destracts alot. 3. Could you probably dig deeper into options? the very basics like put , call , in the money, oout the money.
The problem is that you don't have any ideas that will make people money. Who cares if a stock is totally overvalued if there is no way to profit from it? Yes, it is true that GME is totally overvalued. But there is no way to capitalize on that. The vast majority of people who have shorted the stock have gotten killed. You should admit that you have no idea how to make money in the stock market. If you actually knew how to make money, you would not only be making a lot of money in the market, but you would give us your stock recommendations. Tell us which stocks to buy and which stocks to short. People would lose their butts taking your advice. I saw you had a tweet that said TSLA is overvalued. I disagree, but that is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is whether the stock is going to go up or down. I predict that TSLA will go much higher. We will see who is right. TSLA will go much higher because high-growth stocks that consistently have big upside earnings surprises, are always the best performing stocks.

excellent explanation of how short selling works... very clear, thank you
Thank you - glad you found it useful. I was worried that I wasn't clear enough as to the mechanics of how short-selling works...

It was broken-down so well that even a layperson could get most it
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words - really happy it wasn't too complicated :)
Well done. Love the sarcasm! Think there will be a sequel? 🤓

Hi where did you buy the ticker LED light from
Hi, the strip is a couple of WS2812B LED panels connected together, with Raspberry Pi running the logic behind them.
Informative and concise 👏. Keep it up 👌

That's true - shorted shares can be borrowed from a new owner and shorted again. Theoretically, it can go on indefinitely, but at some point, short-sellers will have to start unwinding...
After GameStop, the stock market will never be the same again...
Indeed :) GameStop definitely highlighted some interesting risks around short-selling...
Great video. Well done.
omg yes, the Wall Street hedge funds did not see it coming :D
Hahaha, indeed! It's a new risk for them to keep track of :)
hold on, are you saying there were two squeezes?... Short squeeze and gamma squeeze?
Yes, exactly.
High short interest provided a good setup for a short squeeze, but once everyone jumped on call options, gamma squeeze became a strong force in the market as well.
And the power of Reddit hasn’t been underestimated since! :D
Hahah, indeed, wallstreetbets is almost 11m people strong, as of right now...
Well... 2:44 was unexpected.
Hahaha, indeed, not my usual filming location :D
Where is the 2nd part? The video is very interesting. Please release the 2nd part
Hey Ramanuj, thank you! Sorry, doing my best with the time I have :) Might be a delay with part 2 :)
I want to point out you called out $PTON in this video lol
Hahaha, thank you :)
Hella instructor
130% short interest. No reason to look into the toilet. WS salty tears
Yeah, 130% short interest was certainly a huge factor in this.
Hahahaha the toilet
First? :D
Well, technically second, but first full-on movie :)
1. So where is part two?
2. Please remove this running line on the background. It does not make you any more professional or trustworthy but destracts alot.
