One of the things I love most about guitar pro is that you can set bars on repeat for a certain number of times at a certain speed and incrementally increase the speed as you go.

I am trying to get my speed back after damaging tendons awhile back and this is very helpful to learn to play fast in a relaxed way.

I feel you! Been there. In two weeks I have a video I'm publishing about how I injured my arm with tendonitis twice and how I healed from it. Hopefully you'll find that one helpful as well. Thanks for watching. Cheers - Jared

Hi, great stuff all along the channel. I play finger style also on electric guitar and currently trying to develop speed for solo runs using the classical tremolo technique (p-a-m-i) . The goal would be to play like Matteo Mancuso, kinda like Matteo of course since he’s from another planet (and 40 years my junior). To do that I have simple patterns set in Guitar Pro with the speed ratio as you describe: 2 measures 8ths note, 2 measures in 16th (to double the speed) and looping through slightly increasing the BPM every 10 loops or so (nice automatic function in guitar pro). Now while the right hand (my plucking hand) is visibly gaining speed and dexterity (I am kinda surprised, considering my age, how short it took [2 weeks give or take] to get from 60 bpm [my beginning speed without mistakes] to 102 BPM, which is where I am stuck now), the left hand starts to give me troubles to keep up. I ain’t gonna give up but I was wondering if I was doing the right thing, since I can feel my right hand willing to go even faster but my left one struggling to improve

That is a super cool video, thank you Jared!
Side question - Do you also teach writing music (melody/chords)? I've been struggling for a while when it comes to 'which chord can be placed with this melody', where I'm lookin for the chord to be a bit more advanced than Major/Minor/Diminished/7. The chord extensions in particular is a topic I've been wondering about for a while, specifically about the 'rules' of which extension work with which chord, in a place where the melody exists. A good example of a song with amazing chord choices - "I'm In A Mood For Love" by Julie London.
Either way, thank you for the content Jared, you're awesome!

Thanks for watching Nevo! Yes, I definitely also teaching writing/composing with melody and harmony. Thanks for asking about extensions. Check out this video for a thorough explanation of extensions: ruclips.net/video/7V2bUFmaYEY/видео.html. And this video if you want to add extensions to jazz chords: ruclips.net/video/T6o4gzWWIQQ/видео.html. After that, let me know if you still have any specific questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them. Cheers ** Jared

If you learn hammer on’s and pull off’s it really speeds things up without much finger movement
