The payload increase is a big deal. Most people are unlikely to tow a full 10k trailer, but 8k is pretty common. The bare minimum tongue weight is 800lb, and 1k is more likely. You still have to put people in the cab, and ideally be able to have a few bags with you. 1300lb was going to be too low. 1450 is at least feasible for two adults to tow a car hauler or a decent camper. Still low, but workable.
That's yet another real nice, super huge EV pickup perfect for well paid Contractors with a crew and/or kids to carry around. Simple, working men like me with a small garage are ready for Detroit, or Wentzville, to make a simple, inexpensive 2 door, 3 passenger EV pickup that will fit into a small garage and tight budget. A solar bed cover and V2X charging would be nice, too.
Originally I had reservations about this GM truck but pleasantly surprised with the final product, the looks are fine and the battery capacity and charging speed are fantastic.
Some manufacturers have used varied chemistries in multiple battery packs. I would say if you can have two batteries packs, then you could have more than two, however there would be a point of diminishing returns. Much would depend on driving and charging habits and requirements. Obviously they make products based on average Joe usage patterns. The average Joe for example in the USA drives 40 miles per day.

Wow they solved the plywood issue. With the fold down it looks like you can fit a full size piece of plywood in the back. Now make this type of platform into a light pick up truck and you'll have my money. IDFC about towing, or how many tons it can carry. slim it down. Same overhead footprint. Give us a stripped down base model.
A few sheets of plywood doesn't need to fit inside the bed of any pickup truck. A few sheets can be laid on top of the closed tailgate of any shorter-bed pickup. Or let it hang over the tailgate. Then strap it down. That's what millions of pickup owners have been doing for a century. No one in a pickup is carrying several sheets of plywood or sheetrock cross country. Tons of plywood or sheetrock for building a home gets delivered on a heavy flatbed truck and offloaded with a forklift at the building site.

GMC costs more than Chevy because its a tier up in luxury/interior quality. To me, the price premium for a GMC is worth it if you are looking for a "luxury" pickup. If you need a work truck, or don't care about the soft touch points or tech features, Chevy makes sense.

They have new battery factories in construction that will produce lower cost batteries. So not being profitable on the first year doesn't mean it will stay that way
You need to learn the difference between selling for less than it costs to build and amortizing capital expenditures. All new models initially sell at a "loss" because they haven't sold enough yet to cover the cost of development and tooling for the production line. If it costs $1 billion, and you sell 2 cars, then the delepement costs were $500 million per vehicle. If you sell 1000, then the cost was $1 million per vehicle. If you sell 1 million, then the cost drops to $1000 per vehicle.

MSRP is $155k but dealer sells for $175k plus various taxes it comes to $230k just for the vehicle, I was at a GM dealer the other day.
